They took out his scenes because if they aired them, It wouldn't make sense because they planned to ressurect him when he returned to the show after his surgery so to show his scenes of him in heaven and then just leave him wouldn't make any sense.

That was not Rip Taylor with the nurse..that was Bernard Fox as Dr. Bombay..who played Dr. Bombay on 'Bewitched'...and Juliet Mills played a sorceress on 'Nanny and the Professor'...hope that clears things up..
