  • I have to ask, how did you get a job with perfume? It seems near impossible, but it's the only thing I'm really interested in lol :)

  • @Mandooey I made my own job by creating my YouTube channel.

  • If you have so many it must take a loooong time to go through them all. Don't they spoil if you have them for so long?

  • @renaissancegirl87 I have too many to properly enjoy! It's an occupational hazard of being a perfume writer. At this stage, many of them are there more for reference than even occasional wear. To answer your question, perfumes will keep for years if you store them away from sun and heat, but they do start to lose their punch a bit after several years. It's best to have a smaller collection and to really use them up.

  • How do you store all of your fragrances? I have a lot too including 1 ounce bottles too.

  • @foxforcegirl All my perfumes are in a cupboard in the coolest part of my home - the front hallway. I've got about 5 of my high rotation faves in a cupboard in my bathroom - kind of a no-no, since bathroom temps can heat up and that's not great for fragrances. The key is to store your bottles away from heat and sunlight.

  • Okay I'm back for more videos after I've subscribed last night, lacking sleep. I really loved your videos instantly and the way you review these fumes just come so naturally. Also, it's amazing how you can smell these fumes one after the other without having to desensitize your nose or something. When I try doing that when picking up a perfume in a store I just become indecisive and stuff... just.. idk. :D

  • @imfxxxnmagicdude Thank you so much! You're absolutely correct: normally, smelling 70 perfumes in a row would be ridiculous - when I'm out shopping for new ones, I usually stop at 10. But in this case, I'm smelling through my own collection, and I know these scents by heart. So just a quick sniff reminds me of the whole experience of the perfume.

In a perfume store, try things on strips 1st, then only spray 4 favorites on your arms & wrists to see how they behave on your skin

  • Boy do you know alot about fragrance! loooove these videos and from such a preety and elegant lady... love watching you and hoping to learn more xx

  • @leanneparas So glad you're enjoying my fume-geek frenzy!

  • Hi Katie!

I just watched this again, and I realized that I seem to have bought a few of the perfumes you reviewed and coincidentally have in your collection: Shalimar, Lovely, Black, Kouros, Coromandel, and most recently, Jasmin Noir.

It could be a testament to your influential powers, or my gullibility. Or both. Thanks for helping me smell amazing!

(I wore Jasmin Noir today and I wanted people to get closer to smell the gloriousness wafting from my skin)

  • I have recently started watching your videos and I love them :) I'm still a young teenager, but have been wearing perfume daily since I was eleven, and it was my mom who got me interested in them and told me all about notes and the art of making scents :)

One question I have for you, is that you keep talking about something called insense (not sure how to spell it) but I don't know what that is.. Could you explain? :)

    Love your channel! <3

  • @SonniesOriginals Incense is made from the resinous sap from different kinds of trees, shrubs and wood. The smells are different depending on the origin. In its raw form, incense is burnt for its beautifully fragrant smoke. The origin of the word "perfume" is the Latin "per fume", meaning "through smoke." Incense was really the first perfume, as the ancients used to stand over burning incense to allow the smoke to perfume their robes. Incense in modern scents lends a woodsy, smoky, piney aroma.

  • Can you do a review on Dinathus by Etro? I'm SO excited to get this perfume after reading such rave reviews... and I LOVE a fresh carnation scent (not heavy or syrupy). Please do a review! Thanks. ^_^

  • @DragonflySparrow There are so many wonderful perfumes in the Etro line! I don't remember the carnation one, though - I'll go track it down.

  • "A recently used but very clean bathroom" Oh my! Do you meaqn what I think you mean? :P

  • @MissMortViolette I think I mean what you think I think I mean.

  • Hey Katie, can you recommend some great male/female fragrances from the 70's? Is it still okay to wear the old school stuff?

  • @bigjohnstud75 It's more than okay - if you're fascinated by fragrance, then you'll be happy to explore and wear what you love, no matter what decade it's from. A bonus is that a lot of older fragrances can be found online and at drugstores at great price points. (The drag is that some formerly fantastic scents have lost their mojo through reforumulation: Lancôme Magie Noire comes to mind.)

My recommendations are in the next box....

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells thank you very much!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells

...i'm so amazed that i discovered you because i was so bored with all the "perfumed collection" that i saw up here on youtube...all that tutti-fruti perfum haul ...all that cotton candy marine whatever...yak....it was about time to find someone like you who has perfums with a lot of personality...congratulation...keep up the good work!!!!

  • @EverSweet8115 So glad you found me!

  • @bigjohnstud75 Here are some wonderful fragrances that were all born in the 70s. Depending on your emotional associations with them, some may be easier to wear than others: Hermès Équipage, Clinique Aromatics Elixir, Chanel No. 19, Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose, Dior Diorella, Aramis 900, Jovan Musk for Men, Chanel Cristalle edt, Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel, YSL Opium, Cacherel Anaïs Anaïs, Azzaro pour Homme, L'Artisan Parfumeur L'Eau d'Ambre and Mûre et Musc, Hermès Eau d'Orange Verte.

  • I'm a straight guy, but when no one is looking, I watch all your perfume reviews. You are pretty, informative, and I LOVE dry humor, especially a woman that appreciates dry humor. Thanks for your informative and entertaining reviews. Every reccomendation you make never falls short. I just wish you would do more men's cologne.

  • @bigjohnstud75 Thanks for your tribute - so glad you're getting a kick out of KP Smells! About a quarter of my reviews are men's fragrances, upped to a third if you include the unisex reviews. Click on "Playlists" on the front page to get to the breakdown. I shall endeavor to include more male scents. Thanks for watching!

  • Hello Katie, how are you? Fernando/ Brazil again : ) ...I love fragrance with notes of incense and you also said you like...I'd like to know what the five best ( Incense fragrances ) in your opinion? men or unisex...I already have the Incense Avignon because of your recommendation, and i love it...what are the five best in your opinion? Amazing collection! Congratulation! :)

  • @Fejosol You'd do well just to get the rest of the Comme des Garcons Incense series: Kyoto, Jaisalmer, Ouarzazate, and Zagorsk. They're all variations on different kinds of incenses found around the world.

The following are more of my favorite incenses: Armani Prive Bois d'Encens, Annick Goutal Encens Flamboyante, Etro Messe de Minuit, Tauer Perfumes L'Air du Desert Marocain, Keiko Mecheri Oliban.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells ...Thank you very much Katie! I will buy these perfumes..now!!! :)

  • have you ever reviewed ck one and ck one summer???

  • @9uyPro8bo No - thanks for the recommendations.

  • If you go to Mars, l hope they let you pass through security w/ that big bottle of Channel Perfume, lol. Loving ur vids =)

  • @missmakeupnerd Oh no! I hadn't thought of Mars customs officials!

  • Wonderful to see your collection, Katie! I'm a Guerlain and Hermes woman, and I also dabble in a little Frederic Malle. I've subbed you!

  • @50Violetta Thanks for the sub...welcome aboard!

Last night I was wearing my Attrape Coeur...

  • Great series!! Hilarious at times...

If I weren't gay I would have been in love with you, haha!

Really cool that your #1 = mine: Coromandel.

Just found out that the Chanel boutique in town has 12 unexplored fragrances and Coromandel was my first pick (Bois des Iles might be my next one: really loved that as well).

Anyhow: thanks for this fun series and I would love to see another video of you doing the same for your husbands perfumes: I bet you bought him a few dozen of bottles too!

  • @XLiq Haha - thanks!

Bois des Iles is my next fave of Chanel's Les Exclusifs, too.

Actually, my husband isn't that interested in wearing fragrance - he just wears something from my collection if he's ever in the mood to get fancy with smells. He loves Amouage Jubilation XXV and Bulgari Black, so I ended up giving mine to him. Oh wait, he does have a few of his own "man scents": Tom Ford For Him Extreme and Dior Eau Sauvage. But his favorite smell for himself is Claus Porto Deco soap.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Cheers Katie! And bless him: two persons with a fragrance addicition in one house is way too expensive haha!

I really loved Gardenia from Les Exclusifs too, but no way I can get away with wearing that.

I do have a sister who made me addicted to Chanel in the first place back in our teens, so I might get her a sample and seduce her to buy it. Or she's one lucky sister on her next birthday. ;)

  • thanks for doing this collection video. im so sick of the 1000000 videos on you tube of endless 'jucy coture' or 'j'adore' in short: thank you for not doing a 'Pink' perfume collection.

  • @0Hermia0 Thank you for indulging me! I appreciate your viewership.

  • are you a perfumier as a job? or do you work around that area?

  • @JFaithx I'm not a perfumer or a retailer. All my related work is writing and talking about perfume.

  • So many !!

I thought I was crazy because I have 4 perfumes....

  • @AnneLien1987 There are SO many levels of crazy you can go to...

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Hahaha that's true.

  • Can you do update fo your collection .. and what your fav. perfume from By Kilian

  • @A7laQ6ri I think my fave By Kilian is Liaisons Dangereuses. But I also love Back to Black.

I'll hold off on a collection update till I have enough new ones to talk about. Good idea, though!

  • Dear Katie.

OK this is what I have liked and still do. Kenzo Jungle, Bulgari Black. Hypnotic Poison, Maison de Vanille, anything with musk in the title, Flower Bomb. Loved Indecence (why did they discontinue?)

Can't stand J'Adore, anything citrus, anything by Avon, floral anything, Ghost,

Need a new smell. Trust you implicitly. Please advise.

Yours, reduced to wearing Impulse Body Spray of Chester

  • @acechadwick People are telling me Givenchy Indecence is discontinued, but I see it online and I did see it at Harrods a few months ago, for what it's worth. I bet you could still track it down.

No need to resort to Impulse Body Spray. You must have tried Kenzo Amour? That seems a good bet for you.

Also check out Christian Dior Bois d'Argent - I think it has a kinship with Hypnotic Poison.

  • @acechadwick Some niche things you might like :

Parfumerie Generale L'Oiseau Nuit (order samps from the LesSenteurs site)

Maison Francis Kurkdkian Cologne pour le Soir (available from Space NK)

Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille; Feminite du Bois (available from both Space NK & Les Senteurs)

  • I've been watching some of your videos and you remind me of a wine taster! My dad makes me wine taste from time to time ansd sometimes I choose random words like waxy which he doesn't understand so I can understand where your coming from. I remember wearing Organza by Givenchi to my junior prom, I quite liked its smell - fruity? Old?

I'd really like to get to know something I could wear to occasions. Can you reccomend somtething thats very rich and sweet?

  • @MewSumomo1 How about Givenchy Organza Indecence? Also check out Yves Saint Laurent Belle D'Opium and Laura Mercier Minuit Enchante.

  • The Jean Desprez website is offering a gift box of Bal a Versailles Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum and Parfum (5 ml each) for $29.95 plus shipping. The Parfum retails for $300/ounce, and the other miniatures retail for up to $29.95. This offer is available exclusively at the Jean Desprez website while supplies last. This is original Bal a Versailles direct from the manufacturer.

  • u r simply gorgeous swt heart...nd am totaly in luv wid ur perfumes:-)!

  • MAMBO by LIZ CLAIBORNE...one of my favorite SUMMERTIME scents. White Grapefruit, and other just lovely notes. Just one short spray last for hours.

  • WOW :O that's a lot of perfumes !

    I wish I had that many !

I love your reviews by the way !

  • Katie, I think it's only a problem if you're hiding them from your husband.

A new perfume can go into hiding just long enough for me to say - No, honey......I've had this one for a while. Hehe.

  • Just received my 1 oz bottle of used Bal à Versailles today...must say that I was a bit disappointed that the floral shagfest was not as overpowering as I had anticipated.

But I got the animal butt note right from the get go! And some of the stuff got onto my hand.

Unfortunately also, I opened another package containing some vintage Chanel No. 22 and some of it inevitably also found their way onto my other hand. Now I'm involuntarily layering Jean Desprez's skankfest with a white-hot floral

  • @domperrier Hey! You got chocolate in my peanut butter!

  • I absolutely LOVE your reviews!!! Please keep them coming!!! I also happen to love rich, warm, sultry scents too!!! I can totally relate to your love of perfume,.I have such a passion for perfume... I could probably use a shrink lol!!! I love the end of your video... all your little friends! So funny!!:))

  • @Mystarr8 I'm just a sucker for sensory stimulation - I didn't start off automatically loving the complex, dense stuff, but once I started tuning into all the possibilities of perfume compositions, I just started craving more more more!

  • I love Fragrance and I really wanted to watch your videos because I love to get other opinions, and i have to say you are soooo pompous on your opinions! I love light clean fragrances and according to you then I am sooo beneath you..........I just don't like HEAVY OLD LADY smelling fragrance. I am 51 and yep kinda old but don't want to smell old but if that's what your into so be it!

  • @DISHMAC Well, you sound pretty sure of your opinion, too! And that's a good thing. Who wants to watch a wishy-washy review, anyway?

  • @DISHMAC Wow!! you need to lighten up!!!!

  • @Mystarr8 Gee Thanks for the tip!

  • once again, lovely collection, but you mention storage, whats the best way to store a perfume? Ive seen old ladies keep them in the refrigerator... odd place for a perfume Id say.. but, thats how they do it, some say, dark and cool place... I keep my darlings on shelves in the badroom... where is mostly cool and dark.

    thank you :D

  • @dancingram79 You could store perfumes in a refrigerator if your home is too warm, but a cool shelf away from light should do the trick. Ideally, fragrances should be stored at a consistent temperature, and if your bathroom gets heated up with showers/baths, it might not be ideal. But the main thing is to use up and enjoy your perfume, so then you don't have to worry too much about how you store it!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Perfumed Court website suggestes you do not refridgerate your fragrances. No light, no heat. I have a couple of Annick Goutals about 8 years old they smell the same as the day I purchased them. Average life is 5 year - according to Perfumend Court again...

  • Just bought a 3/4 full 2 oz bottle of Bal à Versailles parfum on eBay for $75.

Did I get a good deal?

  • @domperrier My teeney .9 oz bottle of BaV parfum cost about $50, so amount-wise, that's good. The variables are how old it is and how well it's been stored since the last owner had it. But that's only if you're concerned about actually wearing it. If it's just for the bottle, then you don't have to worry about the smell!

  • Could you also type the name on the screen while mentioning that perfume? Then we may consider to buy it.

  • Perfumes are my OBSESSION!!!! I just did a video on it yesterday haha! LOOOOOOVE your collection!!!

  • Oh yeah...forgot to mention i'm feeling a strange mixture of envy and astonishment after watching this...impressive-looking harem!

I collect mainly for the bottles...trying to locate L'air du temp by Nina Ricci & Shalimar by Guerlain(from the 80s) now

  • @domperrier Ha-ha: "harem"!

  • Wow...your nose must be exhausted from working overtime! I have a grand total of THREE...surviving scents from 3 decades ago. And one of them(CK Eternity) has 2 carcinogenic ingredients...isn't life grand?

  • @domperrier Yeah, that was way too much sniffin' from one session.

Ew, didn't know CK Eternity had carcinogenic materials.

  • I'm sorry I deleted my comment by accident, what can I say, I'm a newbie! Just wanted to add that the Theo Fennell Scent I recomended you try not only has incense in the base but also saffron in the top! I'll be you'll love it just like I do!

  • @thegherks1 Hmmm...now you're talkin'!

  • Oh Katie you think you have a problem? I have over 1000 fragrances now! Maybe I need help? ;oP

  • @thegherks1 For reals?

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Yup! I know, I'm addicted!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Oh I know, I have a problem! At least I smell good? ;o)

  • yeah she does not love her kids

  • You have such a talent for describing scents...When you review one that I own, I find myself shouting "Yes, yes, that's it!" at the screen. lol

  • @BellamyBlue The image of that just really cracked me up!

  • I love the reference to OctoMom! Hahahah(: Great video, I love all of the videos.

  • @popiliciousfilms Glad you're sniffing along with me!

  • Hi! I normally do not comment vids on youtube; however, I absolutely have to say, " You rock!" Far out the best perfume collection video, yet! I'm a huge fan luckyscent... I stumble upon them three years ago and since then have always been a loyal buyer of the perfumes they sell. Your collection is awesome!

  • @RedRubyShoes Glad to hear from you! Yeah, discovering LuckyScent/Scent Bar was the turning point for me, too - I went from perfume lover to obsessed thrillseeker after experiencing their overwhelming selection of niche goodies.

  • Katie, how long do you keep your perfumes before tossing them? how do you store them to keep them fresh?

  • @girl123interrupted Some of the fumes in my collection I've had for over 10 years, and they smell fine. The key is to keep your bottles away from heat and light. I store mine in a dark, cool cupboard.

  • Hi,

I ordered a few samples from luckyscents. Wow, now I get it. It's a whole other world! My department store perfumes can't compete.

I'll be in LA later this month to visit my sister. I'm sure I'll be coming home with a special 1.

    Thank you for the videos!

    Love from Houston,

    Anne

  • @Sevipants19 Anne, make sure you give yourself at least an hour at Scent Bar (I can easily kill 2 hours there!), because not only is it a Disneyland for the nose, but the people who work there are so nice and enthusiastic and knowledgeable. You'll want to soak up all the insights and inspiration you can.

And if you see me in there, be sure and say hi!

  • Any new additions Katie ? Is there a part 6 coming up soon !!!!! : )

  • @Pochacco1971 There are a few new additions, but there won't be another installment for a while...

  • You have amazing, absolutely stunning taste... :D I am a novice perfume addict and I am trying to learn more about perfumes. Several in your collection are those I really would like to try. I want to try Tauer Incense Rose... I really LOVE rosines and incense have you tried this one? What did you think? If you have any other suggestions for good rose incense fragrances please feel free to email me I would love to hear what you think! susiehelton@gmail.com

  • I would like to add that well-made, higher end perfumes can last for DECADES, if stored properly. In fact, some perfumes can actually age like a fine wine and smell better...hence, "vintage" perfumes. I am certain that you know this, I just wanted to post it since reading through the comments, some folks were asking how long a perfume can last. Personally, I have never had a fragrance "turn."

  • @iamcasihart Thanks for chiming in! I've been answering this question on my other collection vids, so thanks for covering it here.

  • In my "collection," I have around 36 full bottles, at least 15 mini bottles and/or roll on size and at least 50 sample sprays/large decants, (the latter of which I shamelessly request directly from the fragrance house or the counter @ any dept. store). So, in my opinion, you most certainly do NOT have a "problem." This is a passion & a true joy. Fantastic vid! I am a new subscriber.

  • Can we still get Chanel Coromandel? I've never heard of it until you mentioned it, never been a huge fan of Chanel fragrances but honestly when you mentioned it was the lady and the tramp of perfume it made it a must have.....:)

  • @LVdancerbabe Yes, Coromandel is alive and kicking and part of the Les Exclusives line, available only at Chanel boutiques and selected fancy-pants dept stores and duty frees.

  • Just a question that has Nothing to do with perfume..On wich camera do you tape your videos? They look soo goood..heheh.I've watched your perfume collection videos thousand times..Love ya..Kisses from Brazil

  • @tuliorba So glad the vids bear repeat views. The collection vids were shot on a Panasonic BVX 100.

  • Where do you keep your perfumes?

  • @pradagirl8 They're all in a built-in cupboard in my front hallway. It's a bit cooler there, and dark.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Is it bad that I keep my perfumes on my vanity? 'Cause I used to keep them in my closet, But I just want to see my perfumes everyday 'cause I'm just that obsessed. However, Direct sunlight isn't hitting it but there's definitely always sunlight in my room and it's really hot in there sometimes.

  • @pradagirl8 The heat and light (even indirect) isn't great for your perfumes. It's annoying, because the bottles are so pretty and it's nice to be able to see them all and contemplate what you'll wear next (and the memories associated with them). But light and heat will definitely ruin the scents over time.

  • hi katie! can you recommend from your own experience what men's perfumes have excellent longevity and interesting combinations - perfumes with basic citrus, woods are kind of boring... something odd and exciting is what im after! great videos by the way, halerious and dead intersting to watch!!!

  • Here are some interesting men's fumes I like:

    Fresh Cannabis Santal

Tauer Parfums L'Air du Desert Marocain

    Bulgari Black

The Different Company Sel de Vetiver

    Kenzo Air

    Chanel Égoïste (the original)

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells - thankyou! i must say, your collection is amazing! this is a big thing i must know, how do you store them?! because i here light damages the perfumes' life and most perfumes last only "3 years once opened" - is that true? id love to start a collection that contains perfumes which will last more than 3 years! thankyou once again Katie, best perfume reviews on youtube!!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells - - thankyou :) i will be subsribing and researching these fumes!, however i must know, are perfumes long lasting (as in more than 3 years because on the boxes it sometimes says use within 36 months after opening) i would love to start my own perfume collection BUT is it true that perfumes loose their "kick" after a few years? if so that is a shame, because your collection of perfumes must be older than 3 years right? i do store them in the dark out of direct harsh light.

  • It always depends on the fragrance, but I've had some of mine for 10 years of more, and they're fine. What can happen is the top notes can become corrupted on fragrances that are decades old. But to be on the safe side, it's a good idea to use up your smells sooner rather than later, so you can really enjoy them while you still like them. Tastes change all the time.

  • love love love..... this video. you have a serious amount of perfumes. have you tried givenchy amariage? its beautiful. around £80 for 100mls. try it you will love it

  • @traceycrosss I haven't tried Amariage. I must!

  • great vid!

  • i lovve how much u love your perfumes xx i hope to have a collection as big as yours one day aha x you remind me of renee zelwegger... x

  • @iluvlondon123 A couple of other people have told me that, including my sister!

  • OH I WANT TO HUG YOU LOL! Cacheral Amor Amor <- THAT IS MY FAVORITE PERFUME EVER.. I RAN OUT..AND I CANT FIND IT ANYMORE <3 IM REMINISCE THE SMELL LOL! IM GOING PERFUME SHOPPING TOMORROW JUST CAUSE YOU REMINDED ME

  • I'm in my early twenties and I'm looking for a light, clean, fruity, floral, suitable for a professional setting. Do you have any suggestions? I liked Stella by Tocca a lot and Daisy by Marc Jacobs. There are three versions, the black, clear, and the one with the baby blue daisy top...Any differences? Thanks! Your videos on perfume helps a lot! Seriously.

  • @stellarbrite See what you think about the original Burberry, also known as "Burberry Classic". Also try Burberry Brit.

  • Nope, you do not have a problem (I'm saying that because I have the same problem).Everyone has their passion, and it's wonderful that you embrace it.

By the way if you even get the chance to visit Canada, you should go to this store called "Pure" where they have tons of oil and you can create your own perfume :)

  • @PureBloodBella Thanks for the support...and the tip!

  • wow!! u have a lot of perfume lol Quick Q....my mums birthday is in may and shes told me she want a new perfume however she has been very specific that she want a strong sweet, long lasting perfume and she really likes lavender and musk...any suggestions?? lol

  • @pinkplayaa Try these:

    Armani Code for women

    LaVanilia Vanilla Lavender

    Geurlain Jicky

  • you are a spunk !!!!! i'll bet you smell really good too.

  • I don't know if you'll see this or not, but I've got a question.

I'm tincturing half a mason jar of lilac for my boss's wife, who loves floral and vanilla-like scents. I was going to add some benzoin and jasmine absolutes, but I'm not sure if this mix will be full bodied enough. Do you think lemon balm or bergamot would round these fragrances out better?

(btw, I'm also planning to add a pinch of citric acid and sweet almond oil) It's been too long sinse I made something myself, lol.

  • @SilentHillWren I have no expertise in making perfume - only in describing it!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Oops. Ok, sorry about that. Thank you for at least being honest and not doing what every other youtuber does (and acts like they know absolutely everything.) If you know of any websites or other resources where I could get this info. please lemme know. Google searches aren't yielding any results. This video was really nice, btw!!

  • @SilentHillWren Thanks, SHW. There are 3 fine natural perfumers I know of who have interesting websites detailing their processes. Maybe you'll glean some info there:

    AyalaMoriel dot c o m

    Essentially-me dot c o dot u k

    Sonoma Scent Studio dot c o m

  • @SilentHillWren Just thought of a great resource for you! Get natural perfumer Mandy Aftel's book "Essence & Alchemy", a great read which explores the origins of natural ingredients, discusses which ones best "go" with others, and includes recipes and sources for ingredients. Mandy's website is aftelier dot c o m

  • I loveed the fast forwarded counting, very funny! Your collection is beautiful!

  • do you have to store perfumes in a dark place in order for them to not lose their potency?

  • @shopalotmary Yes, away from light and heat.

  • Hi I enjoy fruity fresh scents such as very irresistible CKin2U love of pink etc, and scents you can recommend for me? Thanks.

  • @xxjustjess77 Jean Paul Gaultier Ma Dame and Sugar by Fresh

  • heheheh lol octomom doesent know how many kids she has !!! hehehahahah

  • i dont quite understand why you have so many perfumes, and you mention you dont wear alot of them.

  • @SamitheeKins I don't quite understand how that happened, either! For the longest time, I had about 5 - a sensible amount. And then I started studying up on niche perfumes, and more crept into my life. And once I started reviewing them, some of the new ones were either gifts or "research". But it was eye-opening for me doing these collection vids, and I think it's time to "thin the herd" so that others can give them the love they deserve.

  • This is awesome lol! You're so adorable hahahaaa XDDDD

  • haha some people are so mean about perfume choices! To each their own. I like dirty smells too. I like smelling earthy or sensual. I can't stand smelling like cotton candy sugary ick. Gives me a cavity just thinking about it.

So calm down... it's just perfume. Don't wear what you don't like, and move on with your life.

  • @HollywoodK8 What's fascinating about perfume is people often assume what they think smells "good" is shared by others. But fragrance choices are just about as varied as there are people on this planet!

  • I have to say I love you Katie but the fact that you have Chanel No.5 really bugs me. How do you not puke when you smell it? It, to me, smells like baby poop, sugar and musk. I can't stand it!

  • @4TheLuvOfBillyElliot Hah! Well, I have Chanel No. 5 cuz my sis gave me her bottle, but as it's not really "me", I don't wear it. I do really like the Eau Premiere version, though.

  • I would get dizzy from al those smells, still, nice video

  • Wow you have big collection!

What are the perfumes in red bottle and star shaped bottle?

  • @ki0k0 They're both from Solange Azagury Partridge - the red is "Stoned" and the star is "Cosmic"

  • i like strong fragrance like the original fendi and clinique elixir maybe its prescriptives ... but they are either adored or hated, are their any more like this?

and Katie you should see my makeup collection, or my nail polish collection.. i had to take out a special rider on my insurance ... scary! so no your collection is great and i am so glad you love your little treasures! that's what its all about

  • @ohsewdizzy I wonder if you'd like Agent Provocateur or Estée Lauder Cinnabar? Also look out for Donna Karan Black Cashmere (easy to find online).

  • @ohsewdizzy a big old hug and kiss to you and Roderigo, thanks i knew you could tell me and head me in the right direction!! and a special thanks for the 4 part series on your collection it is really a fabulous collection!

  • you got lots of perfume hook me up with one of those because i want to mingle with the ladies,i want them to give me a large smile instead of nasty looks they always give me!

  • katie my mom uses anais anais by carchel and i wanna give her a similar perfume for her b-day but i do not know which perfume is similar as anais anais HELP ME PLEASE.

btw i wanna know what do you think of anais anais??

  • @lockito123 Anais Anais is a light, dry, spring-y floral scent that's a bit of a modern classic - and because perfumes are generally pretty sweet these days, AA stands out because it's more dry.

I'd recommend trying D&G 18 La Lune, another pale floral with a sandalwood base.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells thanks alot katie. when i go to sephora ill ask for D&G 18 La Lune. i looked online what are the notes of this perfume and they look similar to AA. my mom totaly Agrees with you perfumes now this days are too sweet. like my sister use fantasy by britney spears my mom says she smells like jolly rachels and white chocolate hehehe.

  • lol your funny

  • What do you think about YSL Opium?

  • Since you have all these perfumes do you know about Christina Aguilera's Perfume? By day or by night Im not sure what's it called :( But then (Gasp) Britney spears has her perfume out and Avril Lavigne too! (Sigh) People these days alwyas trying to out do eachother and Yes i know its for their koney and succuesss and Publitcy but hey ill have a line soon! grr now im preaching i hate when i do that!

  • @XTinaxxLove02 Launching your own perfume has become just another step on the celebrity treadmill: make an album, do a movie, do a workout video, write a cookbook, release a perfume, etc etc etc...

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Thank ou sooo much Katie!

    xoxooxox

    much love Britt

  • @XTinaxxLove02 yup now this days every celeb is launching a perfume. but i remeber celen dion and britney spears started this perfume thing. btw i really like how xtinas insipred perfume smells like

  • wow thats a lot of purfume

  • comment on every utube video ever made: loves it!

  • cool

  • Katie, I think about buying either Sandalo or Shaal Nur as I really loved both when I sniffed them the other day. The only thing that worries me is the longevity of the scents. Especially with Sandalo. I only found Eau de Cologne Versions of Sandalo. Is that the onl version of Sandalo? You also only wrote about the EdC version on your blog. What are your experiences with Sandalo's longevity? Thanks!

  • @Gaubizi Yep, Sandalo only comes in an EdC, but it doesn't seem like a "watered down" scent to me, even though it's soft and hovers close to the skin. There isn't really any sillage to speak of, but the longevity is respectable. I notice it on me and my clothes all day long when I wear it.

Shaal Nur is more noticeable when you wear it than Sandalo - there's a certain sharpness that asserts itself. That also lasts pretty well.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Wow, I just found an Eau de Toilette version! But it seems very expensive and hard to get. Maybe it's not widely distributed. Anyway, I am glad that the longevity of the two is good. I tried them both yesterday and noticed that when they are almost fully gone on the skin some moisture helps to get the scent going again. Unfortunately, now I also like Palais Jamais. So unique! *Sigh* I need a better job.

  • please i would love to hear your thoughts about a perfume called "amor"

  • @vanniextragedy Is that Cacheral Amor Amor? I haven't smelled that in a while, and can't remember it..must re-experience it at some point....

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells I think she meant Kenzo Amor?

  • Fantastic video Katie!! Learned a lot! ...even though I subscribe to the idea that perfume can personify someone even more than clothing. I confess I am a total novice when it comes to understanding it as an art. I guess I just picked with my gut....I love that I can turn to you to teach me the finer points....dig a little deeper so to speak.

  • @kokolaroo Perfume is an art, and like art, you relate to it with a gut instinct, so in this case, your gut was right!

  • very very nice.thanks

  • oooh...I love pachouli...and incense!!...glad to see you have mens scents too....I'm not alone

P.S...used to love you on The Tube
