If Microsoft could explain how to use the features of Microsoft office without resorting to the most opaque and arcane instructions, more of Microsoft office's features would get used. Most people--myself included--just keep clicking until they achieve a set of routines that gives them a functional (perhaps no more than barely functional) command of the product/s :-)
Yes we are early in the game and recognize the frustration when we launch a new certification, especially when early adopters seek out the latest & greatest! Look for Certiport centers in your area that offer MOS '03/'07 and ask when they will add MOS 2010. They respond to demand. There is a CC in Richmond that will hopefully offer 2010 soon & most SUNY campuses and scores of other centers in greater New York offer MOS. Check back regularly as we have nearly 100 new centers sign up monthly!
How do you sign up for a 2010 office cert? On the centiport website I cant get a testing location to come up...I'm in Richmond, va and I don't see anything for all of Virginia which can't be right.
Good question. Not a single test center for any exam for MOS 2010 coming up anywhere in New York / tri-state area. Why make the announcements when the tests are not ready?
I was so excited when I heard that my class and I would be interviewed and filmed for this video. Thank you Certiport and Microsoft for the experience. Isaiah Evans
Our Academy for Technology Excellence program at Dunbar High School has been offering students the ability to earn the office certifications for over 5 years. Having a program that validates a students skill set that provides them with industry credentials truly has motivated and increased the confidence level of the students that have obtained these credentials in our program. Glad to hear that 2010 is ready...as we will be ready to tackle this for the following year.
Denise, the students at Dunbar High School are lucky that to have such a great technology innovator as you running the ATE program. You truly are preparing your students for the workforce. Keep up the great work.
This seems like the first time that Microsoft have introduced the new exams at the same time as the official release of the new software. Good job Microsoft and your partner Certiport.
Great MOS 2010 video. Can use this in trainings to help clearly demonstrate MOS certification value. The exams are great and add tremendous value. Looking forward to certifying on Microsoft Office Specialist 2010.
I love the Office 2010 suite (it really fulfills my need to make everything interactive and well laid-out) and the certification exams for Excel and Word blew me away when I took the betas.....they are awesome! The migration to 2010 will be easy and well rewarded, get on board--certify your skills and the skills of those you help!
MOS certification exams are informative and challenging. Passing these exams clearly indicates proven knowledge, experience, and skills of Microsoft Office applications. These exams prove your ability by asking you to perform tasks that you complete in running instances of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, or Outlook. Upon passing, confidence soars knowing that you can accomplish tasks using many features of Office applications.
I am using the 2010 version of Office Suite, and I love it. I curently have Microsoft Certification and display it proudly!!! Everyone should have this type of certification on their resume.
It's ironic -- as we dive deeper into the information age and the need for mastery of digital tools essential to communication and collaboration such as Microsoft Office applications increases, the number of teachers, students and information workers capable of effectively using these tools is actually declining. Kudos to Certiport and Microsoft Learning for providing validated learning programs designed to bridge that gap!!!
Great program for high school students. My 16-year-old daughter is working on her MOS certification, and she's all-in. She totally gets it. If you're an educator and your school isn't offering this program to students--one has to ask: Why not?
