i came across this because I was curious about Filipino Muslims and if they accounted for any of the Filipinod in the US. Is Marlon of Moro ancestry or is he or a parent a fairly recent convert? Not that it matters. also, pardon me if the term "Moro" is offensive to Filipino Muslims.
Aren't we all immigrants? besides native americans? when people tell me to go back to mexico i tell them to go back to England. they just laugh. Ignorance.
I'm not even Filipino but I understand him. So many U.S born Americans make fun of immigrants without knowing how much we have accomplished! All those jealous fuckers that insult us or our immigrant parents can go to hell. We are doctors, lawyers, accountants, business owners and continuously strive because of the strength our ancestors have passed on to us! PEACE
i was laughing cuz my ex once told me how smart i was because i could speak english so good and she couldn't. Us both being filipino but me being born in the US. I said "no i'm not smart at all..you know how to speak two languages and adapt to another country..compared to that i'm not all that your smarter than me"
Wow that really made me tear up...It's so ironic how Americans have the audacity to poke fun at foreigner's english when they themselves don't know how to properly use it. And don't even talk about their spelling. They make fun of Filipinos, who by the way speak and write in tagalog, their native dialect, some spanish as well as english. Most american's don't even TRY to learn the ONE language they have.
dawg that was deep. It made me tear up coz' i was picturing my dad in his dad's position. The common filipino immigrant story of how our parents sacrificed so much just to get us to the "states".. of how people would make fun coz' of their deep accents.. Love the way he put direct dialouges... "anak".. my dad starts most of his sentences with that word... and it always brings me back... thanks! he has such great talent... more of him please...
well said.....well said.
