i don't know if it bothers you that much but they sell ics dust covers on evike.com and i heard you can keep it from falling down by putting a magnet somewhere ( i don't really know where) However it is possible to get a new ics dust cover

@themerc122 Hop up is a small device that fits to the inner barrel of the gun. So when you shoot the BB goes threw the hopup. This puts spin on you BB a bit like a snooker ball. So the BB can travel further thew the air!

@letmelive11 First off are you sure you have a ris forefrip on your M4 rather than a standard handguard? If you do have a RIS foregrip there should be a 'rail' on the underside. You just loosen the 'clamps' but using an allen key. You then just slide it on to the rail and tighten it. The fact that you can't do it though leads me to believe that you probably don't have a R.I.S on your m4.

You can't have it in the handguard. Maybe you could with a LIPO battery.

The split gearbox makes a great high speed gun, because you can get to the gearbox in about three seconds for an easy piston change.

That would also work, but all of guns shoot 38 rps plus, with my fastest being clocked at 45 rps, so i constantly have to replace parts.

The split gearbox is a standard gearbox split in two pieces. The top with the piston, spring, air nozzle, tappet and ect. While the lower half of the gearbox contains the gears, trigger, switch, and anti-reversal. This is easier to change out the spring as you won't have to mess around with the gears and trigger. Nor have to deal with the spring if you want to re-shimm your gears.

you can't use a tokyo marui hop up in the ics m4. The ics has it's own specific designed hop up. You may be able to use a tm hop up bucking, but not the entire unit.

Zellsterz you can buy them for 220.00 from Elite Airsoft, but you do have to be UKARA registered (for which you have to be 18). You could buy from ZeroOneAirsoft and get it in 2-Tone, but you still need to be registered... sorry mate!

The split gearbox is 2 pieces which has the spring and piston on the top half and the gears on the lower half.. ics is not known for reliability.. they suck when it comes to internal parts. worse than classic army.. i have multiple ics guns.. just but them for upgrade guns.

I'd tend to disagree mate. The older versions were not so brilliant, but certainly worlds better than your average ting-tong clone ever will be. The ones sold today have been much refined, and certainly do not "suck". Having put over quarter of a million rounds through mine with the very same set of gears in, I can safely say that they are NOT the weak point. The only possible weak point could be the piston... and anyone incapable of changing the piston on an ICS needs to find a new hobby.

the split or modular gearbox lets you field strip the M4 like the real one. If you wanna tune it with a stronger spring, you only have to take out the Upper GB instead the whole GB to change the spring. I love ICS for that, easy to tune and maintaine
