that dude is brave heck my ass cheeks are clenched tighter than a pair of vise-grips clamped on a stripped hex nut when i take turns on wet roads in my RX-7 that rear end is always up to some crazy shit i swear its not me LMAO !!!!
Does this guy want to wreck his car. I have an 88 GXL and you don't do that kind of stuff on stock springs there really not that forgiving. But with aftermarkets its like driving a whole other car.
springs are springs dude....Not forgiving? Its not that hard to control a car properly if you know what you are doing...besides hes not doing anything to push its limits anyway..even the oversteer is at a low level
"springs are springs dude....Not forgiving? Its not that hard to control a car properly if you know what you are doing..." says the guy who drives a 240, rx-7's are known for snap oversteer.
I own an FC as well as a 240 :). In any case..FC's are known for snap oversteer due to the fact they were equipped with Dynamic Toe steering (Or whatever its actually CALLED). This is kept in check by bushings which ..on 20 year old cars such as these..are rotted and prone to a lot of flex. The result is during turning, toe angle is subject to ..hmm.."Excessive" change causing your snap oversteer.
To elaborate. DTSS came on the rear of EVERY ...FC....So im reffering to rear toe steering and thus rear toe change..not front (Just to avoid any further comments related to this). DTSS allowed the Rear wheels to Toe in or out (point in or out) based on load conditions. (Mild cornering would cause Toe out to aid turn in, Hard acceleration would produce toe in to create stability) most FC's then without DTSS eliminators for the worn bushings will experience uncontrolled and erratic toe changes.
shit i have a 88 vert with 160k on it with all factory suspension including 4 bad struts and i get that bitch twice as sideways as this every day of the week...
edit: i may have got a little too sideways last night and broke a control arm... and a ball joint... and toasted some rims. but guess what im gunna have it on a lift tomorrow morning, im gunna fix it myself and go do it all over again for a hundred bucks!
was that a stock TII running at 8psi...rotary engine has the most unique sound especially with a nice "open" exhaust system. No restricting catalytic converter or shitty muffler. Mine has a nice humming bee sound that could almost kill. Planning on doing a street port turbo in the near future. Nice vid
i have a v8 torana but im still not stupid enough to put peoples lives at risk. You look like your barely incontrol of that car, save it for a controlled environment or dont do it at all
Tokyo drift is a shitty hollywood adaptation of what happens in Japan and has happened in Japan for many years in the Touge runs in the mountains.... oh and will happen for years to come... oddly its becoming a popular motorsport now too...
Meh, I wouldn't even call it an adaptation. Hollywood completely bastardized it to include ugly body kits, neon lights, set it all on city streets and added a bunch of drama shit to it. I've never actually seen Tokyo Drift, but I can tell you it sucks from what I've seen the once great sport of drifting turn into. Fucking bastards.

It has nothing to do with the "stock springs".
