Much love for SH3, but I thought that SH1 was the creepiest game in the series. That said, The mirror room in SH3 was probably the most terrifying thing in the whole game. It's really the random shit like this that made the series great.

I think the trippiest(creepiest, freakiest, ect.) thing to happen was in SH4, the peephole haunting. That REALLY posed some questions. Then there's in SH2, ofcourse, with the dead James in the chair.

that's actually the signal that the door is unlocked, which is clever, as an early player would stare at that long enough for the time limit to run out and they'd die...since how would they know that there was only the one way out? It's Silent Hill.

I believe it was because Alessa was bleeding in the orginal silent hill but the nurse taking care of her could not stop the blood. The main character in the first game finds this out through reading a journal and then watching a video of the girl Alessa bleeding uncontrollably as the nurse replaces her bandages

That part is in the scariest moments despite being optional. Especially when you're too busy looking at the room getting loody, then check the mirror again by accident, only to see Heather herself in the mirror being all bloody before dying...
