  • @destructionman1 this is more epic.

  • Triumphant Champion of Ithaca!!!!

  • Final chorus is the most insane chorus of all songs ever made XD

  • Che canzone, perfetta in ogni nota e in ogni parola, da brividi.

  • now i now why it calls "Symphony X", its sooo amazing

  • Part 7 is my favorite part

  • Just listened to this for the first time.

    It. Is. Amazing.

  • I listened to this once while driving to Ithaca (NY) where I go to college. Great driving music!

  • The ending is the most epic shit of the ever, seriously.

  • some of this song (all parts) reminds me somehow of star wars.

    Anyone else thinks too?

  • SYMPHONY X ARE GOD

  • This song is epic, just epic.

  • I just heard this song in its entirety for the first time....simply beautiful.

  • I love this song

  • lol i was reading the previous comments and well ... im kinda disappointed in some people . i mean who cares what band is better ?! i love both bands equally , and equally are talented

  • agreed

  • i am sorry but lamb of god can take this riff and shove it up their ass. this riff is epic. and the time change at :28 is awesome

  • The cover is in such a fucking awsome looking comic style, I love these old style of covers or cards (magic xD ) The new computer designed things are mainly boring to watch

  • This song gives me chillls!

  • lo mejor que hayy es esta para mi!!!!!!!

  • love symphony :D

  • Symphony X and Dream Theater are greater bands with epic songs Oddysey and Octavarium respectively

  • dit zou dan de euthenazie voor derek van beelen zijn

  • 2nd favorite part- first min or so shows similarities to ... Cannibal Corpse style riffing ala Jack Owen...

I still say Symphony X was one that bridged the gap between melodic and extreme metal...

Symphony X fans should also check out Nevermore if you have not already...

    thanks for posting.

I see the comments below, all music is good- from bb king and the allman bros to symphony x, Dream Theater, Fear Factor and Napalm Death and whatever in between...

  • haha that made me picture a turt with fairy wings and glitters

  • booo duncan mcleoud I expect better with a #54 to your name! :P

There can be only one! :) LOL

    cheers...

  • Part one: 40k views, part 3: 11k views. Why!?

  • The people know what they want.

Search "Champion of Ithaca" lol 13k views on just the last 4 minutes of the song.

  • People get bored after 10 mins, I have other vids on my site broken into parts like this and people just lose interest after 10 mins.

Blame youtube for a 10 min time limit (its actually kinda gay given we can upload 1 gigabye / 60 minute videos these days within an hour)

  • 4:40 and 4:53 my pants exploded.

  • Band Wars?

First of all, best band ever, hands down, is Barney and the Clean-Up Crew. Their hit single, "Clean Up, Clean Up" is bound to be remembered lovingly by generations to come.

Secondly, I've never heard of Dream Teather. Are they new? I really hope you don't mean Dream THEATER, because If you do, I'm going to have to call up my good friend Petrucci and end the world with his 6 billion notes/second death beam. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up 'Petrucci Psycho Exercises.'

  • hell yeah barney and the clean up crew is epic jaja who tought a reptile could b so talented and ummmm my first language is spanish and well im not so good at englishso thats why i mispelled theater and those psycho exercise vids are faker than an 8 dollar bill theyre making fun of him and i agree dream theather have decent talent but they are overated symphony x can play better and make greater songs anyday dream theater have the talent but they are not creative all theyre songs suck

  • yeah the ending sounds like a god made it or something

  • Symphony X are gods. It's the only possible explanation for how incredibly awesome the final verse is.

Either that or the muses themselves were with them when they wrote it. This song does Homer's story more justice than any rendition in movie, print, or music.

  • His name is Michael Romeo, and you're correct:p

  • God the end is the most insanely epic thing I have heard in anything ever.

  • @HandsomeDynamite SO TRUE

  • greatest song ever greatest band ever

  • Octavarium was OK, but has none of the flare of Images and Words, Change of Seasons, Scenes from a memory or Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (second disc, first lacked any decent melodies).

  • Paying my respects to the song first, I found this to be my favorite album and maybe song from SX, not quite sure yet.

On to Dream Theater >____>, Octavarium seems to be a hit or miss from my view with the fans, at first I found it to be one of my favorite albums but after a while some of the songs just didnt appeal to me as much. Octavarium the song was a brilliant masterpiece and is un-deniable. The rest of the album had a lot of explored changes that were as stated, hit or miss

  • i know what you mean, i walk beside you is an awesome song, and i love it, but recently i've been feeling it's just a bit...almost empty, know what i mean?,

o btw, love sx, this album is going on my list of albums i want ; )

  • Creepy shit..these guys kick everyone's else asses.....

Still I prefer Keeper of the Seven Keys by helloween.....

  • thts also a great band

  • for an epic song it could have a bit more epic ending like ITPOE or in the name of god or creeping death or the shattered fortress (for all you noobs, you can download black clouds and silver linings)!!!!!!!

  • what's ITPOE?

  • in the presence of enemies by dream theater

  • ehh that ending's okay. Listen to Ocatavarium and Learning to live. those are pretty epic (though I don't think they're as good as In the Name of God)

  • Odysseus was happy to be a normal quiet man with his wife, son and dog. He wanted no more trouble. So i think the ending was perfect. Read the book! or at least watch a movie about the odyssee.

  • Best riff is the one that starts right at the first of the video, and 30 secs.

  • 5:14-8:00 is pure amazingness

  • agree 100%

  • amazing song

  • If this song were Jesus it would have jumped off the cross and beat the holy hell out of the Roman Army and it wouldnt stop until it stormed the very gates of hell itself!!!.......dont tell anyone but thats the script for the Passion of the Christ 2....Awesome song.

  • 5:06 - 8:00 = EPIC

  • Oh man... 0:29... that riff fucking destroys me.

  • This song is pure awesomesauce.

  • probably the best song ever made

  • After A change of season and Ocatavarium by Dream Theater ;D

  • Change of Seasons, yes.

Not the biggest fan of Ocatavarium though.

  • Well, from what I've read about The Odyssey, it seems as if it's the equivalent to Octavarium in the Symphony X discography. And I haven't even heard any of the songs yet!

  • fuck that; it's incomparable. completely different in every facet.

the odyssey found symphony x breaking their own boundaries.

octaviarium is dream theaters' second worst album. they just seem.. tired out on it. they use much more standard song archetypes and the guitar just drones on and on.

(before i get flamed, petrucci is my god)

there's no way you could even say that their comparable if you've never heard the songs! the odyssey is a really entertaining album.

  • It's their best from my view, but I'm not expecting anyone to agree with it. What Dream Theater did with Octavarium was to strip out some of the excessive complexity, change it into a completely different form (this being the nuggets and carefully calculated songs), and put it in the background, plus add perfect production (name a better production job!), a tighter band, and a downright epic finish.

I don't know if this will convince you at all, but I'll do my best to explain the album...

  • there;s no need to explain the album, i own the complete DT discography.

i don't agree with you though, i found octavarium to be OVERproduced; and i think they strayed too far from their jazzy and unpredictable style that they developed in the late 80's/early ninety's and fucked it in the ass.

they were trying for mainstream success, and they succeeded, relatively.

  • in my top 3 songs, one of the best metal songs ever. best musicians

  • celestial

  • I love your taste of music mate. This is legendary!

  • The whole song is just great

    Love it!

  • Just a heads up to people, I will not update this account anymore. All songs will be on my main account RelentlessEwok

  • Wow, weird. You don't happen to be RelentlessEwok from NooBTooB?

  • Its like Dream Theater but more epic...I Love it!

    What an amazing song.

  • Yeah I know but I wanted to keep the video in as least amount of videos possible.

  • Symphony X is the best progressiv group!!!

  • symphony x incorporated all of Homer's key plot points and everything.

this was the best 24 minutes of music ever.

  • wow amazing

  • very nice work in this 3rd part... hope one day make something like this

  • Absolutely beutiful.

  • This is an amazing song, although I have to say the last part is by far my favorite.

  • Yea

  • After listening to the three parts , I just can say : Wow.

  • the last part is awesome !!
