I heard this song shortly before my Dad passed two years ago. Can't say why it stuck, but the part at the end, the old person with their hand out gets me every time.
Boards of Canada synced with Koyaanisqatsi... How has no-one else thought of this before? Thank you so much for this, I love BoC and Koyaanisqatsi is one of my favourite films!
@oioioijellyroll I pieced this together. That'd be magical if the song actually perfectly fell in sync with a scene from the movie. It's just an image patchwork!
nice. It doesn't surprise me that Boards of Canada would fit perfectly in a film designed for Philip Glass. They're both stunningly beautiful, repetitious, minimal, composed of simple gestures that come together with perfection really...
I like the comparison of cities to computer chips. The music video "Such Great Heights" by The Postal Service did the same. Perhaps that's how us humans naturally arrange ourselves given enough time?
Easily the most epic video I have ever seen. And the moment from 4:56 or so onward with the hand and the woman reaching out and letting them hold hers. Thats powerful stuff. Meditate on that for a second.
