Whether an audio signal is, at some stage, converted into a digital form will affect how much effective noise is added, due to the partial immunity to noise that the digital regenerative effect provides. The actual process of digital conversion will always add some noise, however small in intensity; the bulk of this in a high-quality system is quantization noise, which cannot be theoretically avoided, but some will also be electrical, thermal, noise from the analog-to-digital converted device.
this video is a silly. first off if you change ANYTHING in a recording it editing. You claim you don't edit.second, humans hear from 20 Hz (cycles per second) to 20 kHz (20,000 Hz). if it is above this range you would NOT hear it unless you changed the frequency (AKA edited it). if this is the case and it is. then we can logiclly that ghosts,spirits, or whatever are not trying to communicate to us. as WE COULD NEVER hear it. see part 2:
@Tapps47 Part 2: What you are doing is editing,using matrixing (not the actual term) for what the brain does when it can't make out a sound or image. The first EVP sounds like a bird chirp as when you were there, a bird was chirping. the second could of also been a bird chirp or other natural sound. Those filter programs use a algorithm to remove noise and background noise. They are not 100% capable of doing so. The format used to get EVPs (recording is also an algorithm) like WMA,Mp3, Wav.

I never thought they were targeting ME. I just felt the video deserved a response as they claim to be 'scientific' and they sat there spouting opinions. They also no doubt threw out the insinuation that we are idiots for knowing evps are really recorded. So I'm not worried about them, but I felt it important to address the issues they raised.
Yes, they really BLOCKED me, and they also removed my video from their video, I posted it right there as a video response. They left me stupid rude comments saying the ghosts were in my head etc. All of my comments to them were professional but addressing RF and other factors. They were not prepared for my facts and didn't like the fact that the facts made them look pretty silly. I actually study evp all the time BASED off comments made by skeptics and I assure you I welcome their comments.

Personally I like Trickbusters. They are a bit arrogant and not always on the money but I think Chris Angel is scum, Penn and Teller rule and the Trickbusters are just having fun.

Yes, part of the video was about them saying how to make a fake one, but they also said all evps were from RF, creeks in houses etc. That's the issue I went after. My latest video has evps that clearly are none of those things. I'm fine with disbelief, but not when that disbelief is backed up by unfounded opinion. I have a few theories. And to be honest, I'm not sure what you mean, if you don;t mind elaborating. So far, the way I've chosen to approach evp recording is 1, I use a cassette recorder, 2, I demand and get quiet on the set, and I film all evp sessions (this causes me to debunk 95% of socalled evps). I've also researched the possibility of recording RF and from what I've learned this is unlikely due to FCC shields. Much of what I learned came from the cynics, other researchers, and the spirits.
I happen to be an electronics expert, and I have found, that micro circuits are culprits, and I am working on a prototype reciever with discrete components to get rid of more interference; I am hopeful.

Every time a sound is aplified it runs a risk of recording existent radio waves. This is why I told you the only way to prove yourself would be to achieve a stereo recording.

Have just a little faith, and I can almost guarrantee you, that you will hear sounds on playback that you cant explain, and if yer lucky like I was on my trek thru the open woods away from wires an such, you will have a good 2 hours worth of unexplained noises, and yes, voices.

I have not assumed that evps are whispers. I have some evps that are fully audible, and some that are whispers. ANd even if people hear different words in evps (and you will when they are below Class A), this doesn't discredit them from being evps. Agreed that sound ediring can manipulate/create sound, this is why I find my evps in the raw recording, and enhance only, Meaning I reduce background sound and amplify the evp. This does not alter the evp itself.
I recently bought a cassette recorder and noticed the frequency range was listed on the instructions and it nowhere near could pick up frequencies as high as radio waves. And I still have gotten E.V.P's. Hope to see that new video soon!.

Another way to test this would be to have something else on site which picks of radio frequencies and make notes of strong channels to see if the channel in the radio at the time your EVP was recorded and the EVP result are exactly the same
I will lend this more thought. I've done in depth research and interviewed employees at the phone and cable companies who said with the recorder I'm using, and the hz measurements of my evps, it is not rf being recorder. there isn't enough space for all the details! =) My video response called 'How to Make a Pyscho Phony' has some of the results of this research. If E.V.P was radio waves then they would be heard all the time on recorders and thats not the case. Often I have gotten nothing on a recorder in a cemetery. Not to mention I have had recorders going for a hour and only gotten responses when I ask and nothing elt's for some time. So the trickbusters argument does not hold up. The timing is to precise. This video taught me allot. Well done.

EVPs are real. Those of us who communicate with the other side probably work the hardest to ensure what we've recorded is the real thing. It is important to the very discovery of our soul's journey and not to be taken lightly. My colleagues and I have had enough experiences to convince us that communication occurs all the time. So you never have to justify your evidence to anyone :)

The most I know at this moment, is genuine evps can't be blamed on cell phones etc. MOST seem to fall in a certain range of hz, but not all as I'm learning, and finding out through my own evp recordings/studying. I have 4 class A evps, from the same voice, 3 of the 4 are responsive, & the hz level is HIGH.? But not high enough to be a cell tower etc.I am going to write you on the side about this. Ceomments like yours make my day!
PS- The Trickbusters BLOCKED me and removed this video from under theirs (had it as a video response). BLOCKED because they know I'm right. I never went to their page, or anyone's carrying on in any way that would warrant blocking me! It's very cool that you put together a video like this. It's just not possible that all EVPs are faked. That statement is just an excuse for those who are too close-minded to even consider topics such as the paranormal as being possible.

If you think your audio recording says "Brandy", please take the recording to a large school group and without any form of introduction or prompting, play it for them multiple times and ask them to write down any recognizable word they hear in the recording.

sorry, what I meant to say was it is unlikely we are recording transmissions as they are shielded by the fcc. And even if we were recording that, the frequencies would show us that we'd not recorded a real evp. I assure you I have other evps (watch old chestnut part 2) that are fully audible class A evps. I don't hear what I want, I quite simply hear human words not made by myself or crew, and analyze them in the name of research. Aside from evp, there are many factors indicative of a haunting.

Finally! I was hoping you'd stop by! I assure you, I'm not fooled. I tried to cover all your explanations for evp (radio waves, natural sounds etc.) In fact, I just interviewed a man that works for both the phone co. and cable co. this morning again, as I'm always trying to gather information. Again, the frequencies were far to high for evp, as well, he made an interesting point I'd not considered. The FCC flies over OH (where these were recorded) every year to check their shields- to be cont.
All communications are shielded, and local workers are expected to check on this shield weekly for leaks. So it's obvioulsy unlikely evp can be blamed for this. And the evps in this video, the first IS unclear as to what is said, but as my video said, evps aren't proven by what you hear them say, i.e. their quality, but their frequency. The last evp, 'Brandi' was very audible as far as what it said. I do not study paranromal because I want to believe-but to better understand valid experiences.

To assume I am believing and or hearing what I want is an unfair statement-you don't know why I believe, and study to see if my beliefs are correct. I've had countless experiences that date back to childhood- things moving about, COLD COLD COLD spots in an otherwise warm room, being touched by something I couldn't see, I could go on and on. It's because of the experiences, and lack of explanations that has led me to become a paranormal researcher.
FYI, the James Randi Education Foundation offers one million dollars to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event. There is a rational psychological explanation for this phenomena and it's called Pareidolia - the finding of intelligent sound in random noise recordings based on set expectations provided to the listener. Unless you prompted people to hear the word "Brandy", nobody could have possibly discerned it. Your well produced video even employed ominous mood music to set the effect up. Trickbusters only addressed the issue of charlatans that use faked recordings and not psychological manipulation.

Pareidolia is a proven scientific explanation not an accusation. Your other tapes are irrelevant - you presented THIS tape as evidence and the word "Brandy" is clearly not discernible. The evps are low, as I didn't want to over edit them. However, this video does show that evps are about the frequency, not the quality. Evps actually have a classification system based on that. Thanks for not only watching, but leaving a comment. Have a good day.

I have witnessed some cemetary EVP's being recorded when I was standing there. In one known haunted location, a voice on the recorder said "Fuck you" and another, over religious prayers of other participants, said "Give in to me." very clearly. I was convinced.
The Brandi EVP was good just as it was. I wanted people to see and hear how they come in, and how removing bg noise and amplifying help, but don't alter the words being spoken. Skeptics, please try this in your own house. When you are sober, and home alone, invoke the spirits present and turn on a digital recorder for 10minutes. Do this everyday at the same time for 1 week. See if you are still "alone".

This reveals Trickbuster's claim that ALL EVPs ARE FAKED as the ridiculous and uninformed (not to mention defamatory and insulting) nonsense that it is. With all their talk of critical thinking they failed to ask the most critical question of all: since most of us record EVPs for our own edification, why WOULD we fake them, thus deluding, firstly, OURSELVES? The trickbusters showed a video on how to make a psychophony, or a fraudulent EVP recording.
Your rebuttal was how to find a real EVP recording, so technically you're showing something other than what they were trying to expose. It'd be like if someone responded to their "magic trick" videos with a video of pagan spellcasting ritual to bring good luck and wealth.
Mmm..I guess I had no desire to make a fake! I thought it was high time a video showing how it was done was made. I did prove their butts wrong-they said all evps were fake, and I showed they weren't-they said they were caused by frequencies in the air, I showed how that wasn't possible.They said evps are also caused by the tape,then why did mine respond to asking for a name? Hey, it's your groupie girl! I also felt that I made my point with this video. I actually went through that rechid video too many times in order to field all the stupid things the 'gruesome twoesome' lol asserted about evps. Everything they said an evp was, I not only said wasn't but supported it with facts. Like many skeptics, TheNewTrickbusters stated opinions and pretended they had science to back them up. Their video, as those of us with experience know, was CRAP!
I was actually just doing it in a vain attempt to be funny, and I'm assuming that you're doing the same (you'd have to have something seriously wrong with you to take that post seriously). However, now we've touched on something more serious!

I was referring to YOUTUBE SKEPTICS-not just skeptics in general. I've never said skeptical arguments don't amount to anything- in fact, if you read thru many of my posts, maybe even on this page, I use advice from many disciplines. And even recently I wrote how skeptics inspire some of my investigations. You've been writing me long enough to know that. I was really referring to youtubers that have shown nothing but a refusal to look at the evidence when it is being presented.

this video is a silly. first off if you change ANYTHING in a recording it editing. You claim you don't edit.second, humans hear from 20 Hz (cycles per second) to 20 kHz (20,000 Hz). if it is above this range you would NOT hear it unless you changed the frequency (AKA edited it). if this is the case and it is. then we can logiclly that ghosts,spirits, or whatever are not trying to communicate to us. as WE COULD NEVER hear it. see part 2:

@Tapps47 Part 2: What you are doing is editing,using matrixing (not the actual term) for what the brain does when it can't make out a sound or image. The first EVP sounds like a bird chirp as when you were there, a bird was chirping. the second could of also been a bird chirp or other natural sound. Those filter programs use a algorithm to remove noise and background noise. They are not 100% capable of doing so. The format used to get EVPs (recording is also an algorithm) like WMA,Mp3, Wav.

FAKE ?? anyone that says this needs a history lesson , there was a book printed in the early 70[s called the voices on the tapes 7 ph docs went into a Faraday cage and still got them ! Yes, they really BLOCKED me, and they also removed my video from their video, I posted it right there as a video response. They left me stupid rude comments saying the ghosts were in my head etc. All of my comments to them were professional but addressing RF and other factors. They were not prepared for my facts and didn't like the fact that the facts made them look pretty silly. I actually study evp all the time BASED off comments made by skeptics and I assure you I welcome their comments.

Yes, part of the video was about them saying how to make a fake one, but they also said all evps were from RF, creeks in houses etc. That's the issue I went after. My latest video has evps that clearly are none of those things. I'm fine with disbelief, but not when that disbelief is backed up by unfounded opinion. I'm not trying to be mean and I'm sorry if I'm coming across harsh. Emails rob the true emotion sometimes.

I have a few theories. And to be honest, I'm not sure what you mean, if you don;t mind elaborating. So far, the way I've chosen to approach evp recording is 1, I use a cassette recorder, 2, I demand and get quiet on the set, and I film all evp sessions (this causes me to debunk 95% of socalled evps). I've also researched the possibility of recording RF and from what I've learned this is unlikely due to FCC shields. Much of what I learned came from the cynics, other researchers, and the spirits.

I happen to be an electronics expert, and I have found, that micro circuits are culprits, and I am working on a prototype reciever with discrete components to get rid of more interference; I am hopeful.

Have just a little faith, and I can almost guarrantee you, that you will hear sounds on playback that you cant explain, and if yer lucky like I was on my trek thru the open woods away from wires an such, you will have a good 2 hours worth of unexplained noises, and yes, voices.

Dont go to cemetaries; you dont need to. Now for the scary part - just stay home and make recordings in yer own house, with a small 'portable' mini-cassette like a GE; that's all you need - there is more energy there to draw in the spirits; trust me.

1. you've assumed outrightly that EVPs are "whispers"
2. the thing doesn't sound anything like "Brandy" although one can interpret the sound as being made of two syllables (actually three)
3. sound editing/wave form manipulation, for any purpose (valid or invalid), actually changes the sound so it begs to question what EVPs really are
4. what have you discovered when you apply the same editing methods to the areas containing your own voice?

I have not assumed that evps are whispers. I have some evps that are fully audible, and some that are whispers. ANd even if people hear different words in evps (and you will when they are below Class A), this doesn't discredit them from being evps. Agreed that sound ediring can manipulate/create sound, this is why I find my evps in the raw recording, and enhance only, Meaning I reduce background sound and amplify the evp. This does not alter the evp itself.

I recently bought a cassette recorder and noticed the frequency range was listed on the instructions and it nowhere near could pick up frequencies as high as radio waves. And I still have gotten E.V.P's. Hope to see that new video soon!.

Another way to test this would be to have something else on site which picks of radio frequencies and make notes of strong channels to see if the channel in the radio at the time your EVP was recorded and the EVP result are exactly the same

I will lend this more thought. I've done in depth research and interviewed employees at the phone and cable companies who said with the recorder I'm using, and the hz measurements of my evps, it is not rf being recorder. there isn't enough space for all the details! =) My video response called 'How to Make a Pyscho Phony' has some of the results of this research. If E.V.P was radio waves then they would be heard all the time on recorders and thats not the case. Often I have gotten nothing on a recorder in a cemetery. Not to mention I have had recorders going for a hour and only gotten responses when I ask and nothing elt's for some time. So the trickbusters argument does not hold up. The timing is to precise. This video taught me allot. Well done.

EVPs are real. Those of us who communicate with the other side probably work the hardest to ensure what we've recorded is the real thing. It is important to the very discovery of our soul's journey and not to be taken lightly. My colleagues and I have had enough experiences to convince us that communication occurs all the time. So you never have to justify your evidence to anyone :)

Hey John, I'm so happy to hear your feelings regarding this video. The most I know at this moment, is genuine evps can't be blamed on cell phones etc. MOST seem to fall in a certain range of hz, but not all as I'm learning, and finding out through my own evp recordings/studying. I have 4 class A evps, from the same voice, 3 of the 4 are responsive, & the hz level is HIGH.? But not high enough to be a cell tower etc.I am going to write you on the side about this. Ceomments like yours make my day!

PS- The Trickbusters BLOCKED me and removed this video from under theirs (had it as a video response). BLOCKED because they know I'm right. I never went to their page, or anyone's carrying on in any way that would warrant blocking me! How pathetic really. =) I'm objective, so had I found out evps could be blamed on RF, I'd have given them that, and myself because I want the TRUTH. Can't stand people that refuse facts just to coddle their own convictions!

Saying I'm trying to sound smart doesn't answer the mail. As I stated before, come up a logical refutation and not a logical fallacy. Employing ad hominem is good for lulz but doesn't address the subject of RF shielding or auditory pareidolia. Similarly, your statement that EVP is proven by frequency is a non sequitur. It's like saying that trees are proven by branches.

You must conduct your EVP recordings or testing in a certified RF shielded environment and under the observation of a qualified RF Engineer to have any chance of legitimacy with respect to your EVP claims. The only reason you have comments from me and Trickbusters is because you posted a rebuttal to their video and it was an epic fail.

If you think your audio recording says "Brandy", please take the recording to a large school group and without any form of introduction or prompting, play it for them multiple times and ask them to write down any recognizable word they hear in the recording.
Not 1 in a 100 would come up with Brandy. Instead of dramatics, you need to apply some academic and scientific rigor if you wish to convince anybody outside of those 'true' believers, never mind convincing skeptics.

No one records evps the way they did, no one. You are the one with pareidolia. And how do you know who my recording was played for? Feel free to ask questions before you assume Mr. Scientific! ad hominem? Please! TheNewTrickbusters sure did say in their video that evps were caused by caused by radio waves and I addressed that with FACTS. You've focused on the end of the video! I addressed everything the trickbusters claimed evps were. Learn your big words before you throw them out. Auditory pareidolia is a lame comeback! It shows how this video went right over your head. You try too hard for sure.

sorry, what I meant to say was it is unlikely we are recording transmissions as they are shielded by the fcc. And even if we were recording that, the frequencies would show us that we'd not recorded a real evp. I assure you I have other evps (watch old chestnut part 2) that are fully audible class A evps. I don't hear what I want, I quite simply hear human words not made by myself or crew, and analyze them in the name of research. Aside from evp, there are many factors indicative of a haunting.

Sorry, but your video proves nothing. In my video, I make a psychophony just as hoaxers can do it when the sound is CLEARLY HUMAN. Well, in other recordings, as in yours, when the sound is NOT CLEAR at all, YOU INVENT YOURSELF the words you want to hear. I hear nothing of what you listen in your recording (pareidolia indeed).
The most impressive of your video is YOU. A shame you believe in ghosts at your age and your brain fools you. Nice editing.

Finally! I was hoping you'd stop by! I assure you, I'm not fooled. I tried to cover all your explanations for evp (radio waves, natural sounds etc.) In fact, I just interviewed a man that works for both the phone co. and cable co. this morning again, as I'm always trying to gather information. Again, the frequencies were far to high for evp, as well, he made an interesting point I'd not considered. The FCC flies over OH (where these were recorded) every year to check their shields- to be cont.

All communications are shielded, and local workers are expected to check on this shield weekly for leaks. So it's obvioulsy unlikely evp can be blamed for this. And the evps in this video, the first IS unclear as to what is said, but as my video said, evps aren't proven by what you hear them say, i.e. their quality, but their frequency. The last evp, 'Brandi' was very audible as far as what it said. I do not study paranromal because I want to believe-but to better understand valid experiences.

To assume I am believing and or hearing what I want is an unfair statement-you don't know why I believe, and study to see if my beliefs are correct. I've had countless experiences that date back to childhood- things moving about, COLD COLD COLD spots in an otherwise warm room, being touched by something I couldn't see, I could go on and on. It's because of the experiences, and lack of explanations that has led me to become a paranormal researcher.

If you think have real evidence besides goose bumps and shivers, let's assist you in claiming that one million dollars. You don't need to take the money - donate it to charity or paranormal research.

There is a rational psychological explanation for this phenomena and it's called Pareidolia - the finding of intelligent sound in random noise recordings based on set expectations provided to the listener. Unless you prompted people to hear the word "Brandy", nobody could have possibly discerned it. Your well produced video even employed ominous mood music to set the effect up. Trickbusters only addressed the issue of charlatans that use faked recordings and not psychological manipulation.

I do appreciate you stopping by, but I have to say I've quite bored of this Pareidolia accuasation. Just not the case. I honestly think skeptics suffer from this, and try NOT to hear what is quite obvious. Tell me what you hear at the end? As well, I have other evps, in my video Old Chestnut Grove Part II (evps) that are so plain. Why is it okay to use subtitles on reality shows, for one example? When the person is drunk, or has an accent and editors add subtitles, are they struck by Paredlolia?

Pareidolia is a proven scientific explanation not an accusation. Your other tapes are irrelevant - you presented THIS tape as evidence and the word "Brandy" is clearly not discernible. You might be bored of the pareidola explanation, but it most certainly fits this case and you need to come up a logical refutation not a logical fallacy.

Also, the trickbusters sure did say that there is no such thing as evp, no such thing as ghosts, etc., and they went on to show how easy it was to 'make' an evp. So my video clearly addressed their bold statmennts & showed they were incorrect. They even said evps were caused by radio waves, which I clearly showed wasn't the case. I'm far from gullible and don't want or need to believe anything. I don't ignore the scores of evidence I've collected that support paranormal activity. Good day 2 u!

I guess they just like to speak to fans and not be challenged when they are in the wrong. Oh well. I made this video most of all to educate the public on how evp recording is really done. This does not prove anything. All I hear is fuzz. Depending of the sensitivity of the mic on the recorder, the noise could have been anything.

The evps are low, as I didn't want to over edit them. However, this video does show that evps are about the frequency, not the quality. Evps actually have a classification system based on that. Thanks for not only watching, but leaving a comment. Have a good day.

I heard "brandi" better with the background noise intact.
I have witnessed some cemetary EVP's being recorded when I was standing there. In one known haunted location, a voice on the recorder said "Fuck you" and another, over religious prayers of other participants, said "Give in to me." very clearly. I was convinced.

The Brandi EVP was good just as it was. I wanted people to see and hear how they come in, and how removing bg noise and amplifying help, but don't alter the words being spoken. Skeptics, please try this in your own house. When you are sober, and home alone, invoke the spirits present and turn on a digital recorder for 10minutes. Do this everyday at the same time for 1 week. See if you are still "alone".

This is a clear and concise rebuttle of the Trickbusters' clear and malicious attack on our collective honesty. This reveals Trickbuster's claim that ALL EVPs ARE FAKED as the ridiculous and uninformed (not to mention defamatory and insulting) nonsense that it is. With all their talk of critical thinking they failed to ask the most critical question of all: since most of us record EVPs for our own edification, why WOULD we fake them, thus deluding, firstly, OURSELVES? Great job, my friend!

Girl, you rock! These trickbusters didn't debunk anything as they said they would. I watched over their video and they really can't disprove anything. These guys of trickbusters are the one who needs to debunk why girls turn them down for dates. Maybe they should focus on that.

The trickbusters showed a video on how to make a psychophony, or a fraudulent EVP recording.
Your rebuttal was how to find a real EVP recording, so technically you're showing something other than what they were trying to expose. It'd be like if someone responded to their "magic trick" videos with a video of pagan spellcasting ritual to bring good luck and wealth.

Mmm..I guess I had no desire to make a fake! I thought it was high time a video showing how it was done was made. I did prove their butts wrong-they said all evps were fake, and I showed they weren't-they said they were caused by frequencies in the air, I showed how that wasn't possible.They said evps are also caused by the tape,then why did mine respond to asking for a name? I actually took their facts in the video and addressed them all. Glad you like that foxy lady I use! LOL

I actually went through that rechid video too many times in order to field all the stupid things the 'gruesome twoesome' lol asserted about evps. Everything they said an evp was, I not only said wasn't but supported it with facts. Like many skeptics, TheNewTrickbusters stated opinions and pretended they had science to back them up. Their video, as those of us with experience know, was CRAP!

You seem to think most skeptical arguments don't amount to anything. Skepticism is the refusal to believe something in the absence of evidence; without it, the only alternative would be to believe EVERYTHING that can't be disproven. Is that your stance?

I was referring to YOUTUBE SKEPTICS-not just skeptics in general. I've never said skeptical arguments don't amount to anything- in fact, if you read thru many of my posts, maybe even on this page, I use advice from many disciplines. And even recently I wrote how skeptics inspire some of my investigations. You've been writing me long enough to know that. I was really referring to youtubers that have shown nothing but a refusal to look at the evidence when it is being presented.
