There was really no main protagonist in Killzone 1, you had a choice after a certain extent to play one of four characters after each chapter: Templar [the officer leading the four], Luger [The Shadow Marshall that could see in the dark and had the pistol with a sniper-like scope], Rico [The guy with the tank armor, wolverine-like regeneration and a gun that could take out anything that moved] and Hakka [a Helgan double agent that could get past Helgan's genetic-sniffing traps].
