  • I also bought the Impression from HSN but eventually returned it. The tablet stopped working...nothing on the screen; would neither turn on or charge. Totally useless. Samsung galaxy Tab is the best android tablet and the iPad is the best overall tablet!

  • @judiththomps Yes, I returned mine also. Performance, and cost were the main factors. I eventually purchased the Toshiba Thrive (16 Gig version) from HSN, with 3 FlexPays. I really love the performance and flexibility of this tablet. (Mental Note); Why does it seems as if HSN "Value Specials" are flawed. I have not once gotten a "Hot Value" from HSN, that did not arrived flawed. I sent the Toshiba back for repair, even before the second FlexPay was taken out of my account.

  • Hello...Did you end up keeping the Impression?

  • @TheAgentOfTruth I HATED it !!! I ended up sending it back to HSN, and getting the Toshiba Thrive 16. It's running Honeycomb, and has the Android Market and a Dual Core Processor (The Tegra 2), and it has 1 gig of ram, instead of the 512 megs most tablets give you now. It was $329 with flex pay, so I think the Thrive is a better value.

  • Thx for the info. Im getting the impression for Christmas

  • @TariqSaysUMadBro Don't do it, it sux ! The Toshiba Thrive is a far better Tablet, and no need to root to get the Android Market

  • @ldarthard This doesn't come with the androiid market installed already?

  • @TariqSaysUMadBro No, it does NOT come with the Android Market. You'll have to ROOT the Tablet (Add a custom ROM) to get the Market. This is problematic, because when Google updates the security for the Market, sometimes the Rooted GOOGLE Market App does not update, and you'll be locked out (I have this issue with my eLocity). So buy a Google approved Tablet, like the Thrive or the ASUS Transformer. These Tablets are a dime a dozen now, so choose wisely.

  • @ldarthard Do you think that it is possible to just download apps on my phone which does have the android market and then transfer those apps to my sd card and then transfer the app from my sd card to the tablet?

  • @TariqSaysUMadBro That works to some degree. If the Apps are updated or maintained by the Google Market, they will NOT update without the Google Android Market installed. In many cases they won't even run. I did sideload some apps that I downloaded from the internet (Dungeons Defenders, etc.) Unfortunately the Tablet is a little underpowered, and many graphics intense games stuttered. In addition many apps made for the phone, won't run on this because of the resoultion issue
