  • my rat is just like that!! cool tricks

  • im gettin 2 rats becuz of this video!!!

  • "bestest" lol!

  • Why does people get dogs when they can get a rat!? :p

  • My rat is alone. But he is very spoiled and bratty. But i still -3 him.(:

  • sweeeeat ! :)

  • @eLectroChickLP

NEVER keep a rat alone. rats need live in packs of three or more to be happy. then again I dont expect you to have an appropriate size cage either...

  • I am in awe at how their intelligence never fails to amaze me. I have a 14 month old female, Boo, who I adopted from my brother who is in the Navy and could no longer take care of her. I have had her for a month, and gradually been allowing her to explore my home, and today, she was allowed to roam my bedroom entirely for several hours and I gave her a lot of handling, and I was astonished that within just a couple hours I was able to teach her to come when called by name! Excellent video!

  • @eLectroChickLP Two rats or more is better than one but sometimes animal-lovers get overzealous and exaggerate - chances are a lone domestic rat with lots of human contact will still live longer and be better off than a wild one, which will have to battle to survive. Probably varies between rats and environments, like anything else. I would choose total loneliness over the company of certain humans...

I have two brother rats - they squabble but it's fun to see their distinctiveness.

  • ooooooooooh my goooooood !!!1 awsome really cool

  • WOW! can you give me some tips on how to do that? I have a girl and she wont sit still for anything because she likes to explore. How can i hold her attention?

  • This is so cute my head is going to explode o:

  • Real good stunt respectful:)

as you have taught her that?

I would also like something to teach my rat

  • Cute :) I have two rats and one of them isn't mean but wont let me pick her up. The other one will let me and she loves to be picked up.. They are both about 6 months old and are adorable. Also how do you teach them to do that trick. Will you tell me how to teach them how to do that trick? And the rat that will let me pick her up is an albino rat.

  • i have rats and cookie my first rat just turned 2 .. she doesnt .. run after me, did yours just do that from the day you got her/him ? or did you sorta do that luring trick ?

  • me and my rat are watching this vid together great job!!!

  • Wow! :)

  • Aww, I love how she hops back to you. How cute.

  • How do you train them to fetch?

  • cool

    that's ace

  • How do you teach her how to fetch?? :]

  • I love this video!! Amazing rats!! I have a question.. I have a pet rat and he is almost two years old.. He doesn't fetch or anything but is really smart. He knows "kisses" and "veggies" and stuff like that. Is he too old to learn the fetch trick or any others?

  • thats so cute at 1:05 where she tries to find it, gets close and runs back like she got it. And then acts like "What? I brought it back just like you pretended to throw it :D " lol

  • OMG, she's lovely, your rattie!

  • sorry, both of them are clever cuties! I just only noticed, that they are more than one...

  • There so cute !

  • wow watch out ! when you got up to walk , the white rat was way too close to your feet! good thing it didn't get squished, there cute by the way

  • i think it's very funny :)

how long did you train this with your rats??

  • can you do a how to vid?

  • Swellegant! Five stars. (and three rings?)

  • I didn't know they were so intelligent. Makes me think twice when I feed em to my snake. Wish there was another way.

  • There is. Not having snakes.

Or feeding them something like.. frozen ones or w/e

  • Do you wear leather shoes? are you a vegetarian? If so, that's great, but snakes aren't. I didn't own my snake, she would still exist somewhere else eating rats, just fed by a different owner. You know, your sweet little dog or cat at home doesn't feed on just veggies either. If you feed it dog or cat food something had to die to make that food too.

(my snake would starve if you put a frozen thawed rat in her cage then u have animal suffering in different way)

  • Yeah but you don't kill whatever goes into the dog or cat food yourself. It's not very nice coming into a pet rat video and mentioning that you use them as food for your snake. We KNOW snakes eat them but still. I love snakes but I don't think i'll ever have one as I had rats first and in my opinion rats are better :)

  • Ok, everyone's entitled to their own opinion I guess. I will admit snakes aren't as intelligent as rats, but somewhere in history snakes have either evolved, (or in my beliefs, have been created) with the upper hand in natures food chain. So sorry about intruding with my snake comments on you're video. P.S. I like all animals by the way, and have a breeding pair of degus that I've had as pets for years. They can be taught tricks and voice commands too.

  • That's because I am the girl from The Ring MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

  • Haha!

  • @millineu i don't think u look like her it's just the long black hair lol great video by the way :)

  • @millineu (what is that what you throw)

  • @millineu (what you throw there)

  • This girl looks like the girl of the grudge .... like the girl is the mo9nster thing that lives in the attic

  • my rat does this, but not as a trick lmao

  • I love this! very sweet little girls you've got. Very clever little angels they are!

  • Best...rat trick...EVER! =D How did you do that? Amazing! Can you get them to fetch you a bag of chips? xD Might be too heavy. Lol. =)

  • hi cute what do you give the as a reward??

  • Don't listen to the person that said rats can't be alone! My rats alone shes fine...

she was alone all her life and I had mant rats living alone. And hamsterspetztwo, what are you a grammer cop?anyway nice video!I love rats!Had alot!

  • who on earth who listen to u?? asshole

  • Mines alone too, its very bright and hyper :)

  • You know, rats who live alone gets damages on their brain ..

  • WTF?! Where in hell did you get that load of shit? I own a single rat (as well as a pair of girls) and he's brilliant. He acts like a normal rat.

Single rats get lonely, but they don't get damages in their brain. Haha. That's hilarious!

  • I don't know how it is where you come from, but at least in Sweden it's even illegal to have a rat alone.

  • @AlisonakaNook my rat lives alone and she doesnt care i play with her instead.

  • ha ha no they dont, they just need twice as much attention

  • she runs so cuute!!!

  • Um, EgolantTed, there are two rats in the video. So, obviously, it's not alone. But if your previous comment was about something else, then never mind me. =D

  • please do a tuturial how to fetch

  • how did you teach the rat to do that?

  • ''bestest'' is not a word

  • lol

  • what are you a grammer cop?who cares what a word we are on the internet!

  • i also got 2 a couple of days ago, one is really confident and energetic and the other one is a bit scared but shes getting better :)

  • ok i just got my first rat last monday and my secound one this monday they are my first rats ever and they arent very playful, will they get playful later and will i be able to teach them that trick its so freaking cool

  • Yea, they will almost definitely get more playful as long as they get lots of human contact. Hand-feed them lots of treats so that they associate you with "good".

  • AWW SO SWEET! how did you train your rat to do that! <3

  • @Jonathanechev i just got new rats too and they arent playful at all do they get playful later wen their older

  • @ChrisGray714 well i dont have them anymore.i let them be in their cage too much i think. i should have taken them out more because they seemed a little scared to be out of the cage.

  • lol i just got a rat! her name is mister jingles (yes, her) shes always sitting on my shoulder. i need to teach her how to do something.

  • you should never keep solitary rats. get another one.

  • NO! i love her too much now. D=

  • obviously not enough to actually research the animal you are supposed to be caring for.

  • i need help. i got an albino rat. is their intellegence or anything like that different from a normal rat?

  • hahaha, no, they are the same intelligence-wise. They only look different, and see differently. Rats don't see very well in the first place, and albino rats, like albino people, have a problem wherein their eyes get flooded with light because their irises are transparent(ish). So she or he might not be able to learn tricks as easily which rely on being able to, for example, tell the difference between two things by looking.

  • please help me, I ned to teach my new pet rat to do some tricks for my psychology class, I want to teach him how to fetch but i'm not exactly sure how to go about doing it

  • I have two video's. And my rat Sid know's three tricks, the leaping one, walking one and tight roping. Visit my channel!! =) Look out for - How to teach a rat the leaping trick.

  • ahhh i wish my rats would do that i think there kind of oblivios to the fact theres any humans when there out of the cage lol

  • Aw, your rats are supercute. Fetch with my rats is more one-sided. LOL, More like hide and seek with the spool kind of thing.

  • Thats so cool rats are awesome. People portray them as vermin, but hey a rat got to do what he has to do either by finding food by living in your house or whatever. Cool video!

  • @socalbreme I picture it that rats are smart enough to a know a safe place where predators can't find them, but still be safe from human threats. That's why they would typically live right above or bellow our noses.

  • my rat is really boring right now...i cant teach him anything...he dont like to hang around unless i have him surfing on my shoulder

  • i just tried that ...my rat just looked at it

  • damn, shes an active one isnt she lol. Cute.

  • very cute. :)

  • fantastic. how did you learn them?

  • Does she have any cage mates?

Just wondering if she is tame because she is on her own ??

  • Is that a male or female? And how did you teach him/her to fetch? I've tried, but mines never fetch. Can you teach me please?

    Thank you.

  • lol

    whats her name

  • Omg thats so freakin cute!!!

  • Fantastic trick! ... will have to try that with mine ... must have taken ages! :)

  • bravo . . if only she could search and retrieve your keys that'd be cool

  • ummm, some luck probably, but I started off just throwing the cap and rewarded her whenever she chased it, then she started trying to steal it so I would just take it off her as she ran past and giver her a pea instead...lots of persistence? :P

  • gradually expanding the conditioning

  • ahh thats awesome, howd u teach her to do that?
