  • lol I have like $300 sitting down in my account. I'm thinking of adding about $100 a month to my account since I'm a student and dont have a job. I will manage my money carefully.

  • Ps.... I am addicted to your videos, I checked youtube all day sunday hoping you would post.

and the other day when you posted 3.. was like christmas

lol I sound like a stalker

  • LOL - that's cool. Heheh. Gives me encouragement to keep it up though. Gotta have a day off though!

That helps me out too, because I wasn't sure if doing more than one video per day (at times, :^) ) would be too much or not. Won't feel any guilt for doing it if the opportunity comes up again.

  • you made it so much clearer. I now practice strict money mgmt. in all my trades and even in my personal finance budgeting.

I now have only a small accnt. ($3000) but i am going to do my best to make it grow for me and my family. If you dont mind, you say you started to be profitable in 6 yrs. could you tell us how much you started with.

like, some people get windfall cash from lawsuits or inheritance and i was just wondering if you had alot to begin.

    thanks again

  • Thanks a lot mate. To hear that, means a lot to me. That right there - is my whole plan. Like I mentioned in my other video? I see this recession going, and see people suffering, and it - quite frankly - pisses me off. I feel like I * have * to do something to assist others. I figure 'teaching ones to fish' - is the best thing I could do to financially help others - which also helps me if the economy does better because ones are handling their finances more wisely.

  • Heck, that's the reason I started the entire challenge project. To show that anyone can start to get ahead if they plan everything out carefully. And the primary reason is to help ones in a world that it's so hard to get ahead.

(Which is another reason the Challenge Project got started - someone I know IRL said "I got lucky" - and that sponsored me showing I could do it again - with less)

  • To answer your question? I would have to pull up my broker statements from 2002 to make sure? But I want to say it was around $2,500.00. I'd have to look up the statements to make sure.

  • dan, I would like to tell you again how much we appreciate this great service your performing for free. You are a very generous person. as a 35 yo father of two with a regular job, it is hare to make ends meet. I have been trading for about 8 years off and on and learned alot in that time. but what I have leaned in the last couple months through your videos and informed trades has eclipsed all that knowledge.

I have read dr. elder years ago but never followed money mgmt. till seeing u do it.

  • i surely agree with you sir.. :-D

  • How long did it take you to be profitable?

  • I'd say about 6 years. You have to remember though, I had never even heard about money management for the first two and half years. I had a period of time where I just walked away from the markets (ironically, shortly after I heard the words 'money management'). Then I traded flat for a while - before I started actually making money. So altogether? I'd say about 6 years.

Although I know traders who were properly instructed about money management right off, and were instantly profitable

  • Thanks for the reply. Been trading for a few months and I was getting really down after experiencing failed trade after failed trade.

What made you decide to stick to trading/investing during those 6 years?

  • I'd have to say that it was that I knew it could be done, because others had done it. I'd seen them do it, so I knew there was something I was missing. I knew I loved trading? So I knew it was just a matter of sticking with it.

In the video I'm going to put up in a little bit, I discuss something that might help you out. It's "An Edge".
