"That awful sound"?The saying that "you don't hear the shot that hits you" may have merrit even regaring those who never lose consciousness. I've heard of people taking hits & never realizing a gun had gone off. A theory I'll bring to the table is the trauma of the bullet's split second trek through(or along-in the case of a nick) your anatomy causes a sensory overload-a sort of temporary amnesia. I thing I experienced it suring a skydiving emergency. I don't recall the reserve's opening shock.
This episode seems to be based on a previous tv feature, in which at least the 1st part up to the accident was virtually identical. I don't know if it was a tv show or a movie. But the way the CA episode went I knew exactly what Kelly Garret was going to say just b/4 the gun discharged. "That looks like a real gun." I knew she would experience a nicked head wound. Afterwards, I don't recall much of the previous feature, so I can't compare the 2 features beyond that point.
You are correct. Years ago, one of the cable channels [Nick, TVLand] was running old episodes of 'The Mod Squad'. That show was created by Aaron Spelling also. Well, seems like Aaron recycled an old plot from that show. In that episode, Julie is shot by a kid, and the script mirrored the plot from the later show ---- almost exactly. The moment I was halfway through that episode of 'Mod Squad', I immediately thought of this episode of Charlie's Angels.
I was only 3 when Kelly got shot in season 1...but I totally remember her getting shot in the last episode (I was almost 8 by then)...I can still remember her screaming as she dropped to the ground.
I don't remember any scene in the last season where the there David Doyle (Bosley), Cheyl Ladd (Kris Monore), or tanya Roberts (Julie Roberts) where ever in a church. The flower draped casket is from the scene where they fake the death of Kate Jackson (Sabrina Duncan)
Credit to Bosley there...that was the first time in the entire 5 seasons that he did any kind of karate type move...usually it was just "pull out the gun and say freeze!"
OK, Skip...put the gun down...I remember this episode. Look for the cool surfer chick wearing a Starsky & Hutch t-shirt...she picks up this little killer and gives him a ride to the beach! Kelly definitely had a charmed life, considering she would be shot YET again in the exact same place in her head in the fifth season.
DON'T PLAY GAMES MAN!!! LOLOLOL!!! You had my heart pumping quick right there!!! I'm new to watching Charlie's Angels and I finished Season 1 watching Season 2 still right now.........Whew!!!!
This was really good. Damn good. Loved the music. I didn't know Kelly got shot twice in her Angel days. Of course, I am only getting caught up on these 3 now and haven't even watched the DVD's of the first season. I am waiting for the perfect moment to just have off to chill and watch them. I wasn't born yet when the original three were doing their thing. Still out of all the angels past to present, I think they are the best looking girls, the first three. They were the real Charlie's Angels.
Wow- great job. Do you have the full episode of the series finale, "Let Our Angel Live?" If so, would it be possible to send it to me, or any clips of it you may have? Thanks!
In the Charlie's Angels movie Kelly appears to Drew Barrymore as an angel and I wondered if her character had indeed died and how. Anyone have any ideas?
I think it's easy to tell that that wasn't a real bullet! if it was you'll be dead! was it one of the guns that look real, but are like kids toys, and there isn't a real bullet. A piece of wood, maybe, my cousin has one.
kelly was my favorite, what a pretty brunette!!!!!! i used to watch charlie s angels with my parents on sunday on french national tv, good memories!!!!!!!
Why does she always get shoot in the head?

Wasn't this from the final episode "Let our Angel Live", the only episode which we see John Forsythe's face?
headphone355 4 years ago
Yes, it is "Let Our Angel Live," however we don't actually get to see Charlie's face because he's wearing a surgical mask.
By the way, John was just the voice of Charlie; he never stepped foot on the set.
kellygarrett312 4 years ago
This isn't from the final episode "Let our Angel Live", this from the first season episode, "To Kill An Angel"
