I grew up with Jason and his family was very close to mine. The story behind this song is actually very touching. It hits me really hard every time I listen to it. He's an amazing artist and a really great guy. All of his songs are from the heart.
I met Jason shortly after we had lost someone in our family. I was with my grand daughter when Jason played this ten feet away from us. We both were thinking about our loss as he played and the thought that he would never get to see her grow up. Maybe he isn't missing it...who knows
