  • Greatest guitarists of all time-

    1. David Gilmour

    2. Ritchie Blackmore

    3. Robby Krieger

    4. Pete Townshend

Sorry Hendrix, Clapton and Page, they were streets ahead of you...

  • Wuhoo! I have a vintage vinyl record of this! And Book of Taliesyn too! ALthough they were hard to get in India, when my dad bought them.

  • on the cassette the base guitar is super amplified which makes it 100x better!

  • @Ramonestine Its bass :D

  • first album, first song... this shits historic

  • sounds similiar to me...

    Electric Food, icerose

  • Before Albert Hall and In Rock amazing.

  • In New Orleans early 70's there was a band called BLACKMORE who played this as their opening number. The guitarist, Dave Johnson, was awesome. I never say a guy who played covers better than the originals. He did Page, Beck, Blackmore, Santana.....Love the space guitar on this one.

  • In pressed dislike. I love this song though!

  • god bless deep purple THEY ROCK?

  • 7 people don't remember their own address...just thought i'd be clever

  • @beantownbig3 It's an epidemic on youtube. Stupid conformist fucks thinking they're all that, commenting the dislikes on all fucking videos. Like it fucking MATTERS. It's an internet site with a dislike button; so what?

  • This song cleared up my ear infection.

  • 2:02 Best part! Beautiful melody!

  • Stereo MC's - 33 :)

  • @tod4y ? what do you mean with Stereo Mc s?

  • @drogebear The first minute was sampled to their song 33. Just take a look. :)

  • hahahahaha Love Blackmore's afro!

  • Blackmore´s working on a minor melodic and pentatonic scale.

  • the string in dp's studio version of hey joe is clearly better than hendrix's version.

  • ritchie was clearl better than hendrix.watched them both.tell tale of a great player is that he always uses the index finger.

  • mh... the riff sounds known to me. anyway this has, i'd say, an 87.9% hendrix influence

  • 2:17 BLASTOFF!!! SPACE GUITARS!!

  • Supersound

  • Adredaline rush. Deep Purple Mk1 rocks!

  • My fave hard rock instrumental of all time, And it's easier than finding my old LP copy of Purple Passages!

  • This song is great. It's a surpise it's not as widely acclaimed as others.

  • @oldmcdonald3475

Instrumentals never get the love they deserve.

  • @Bitterblogger That is very true. It's sad how the majority of us are governed by what radio stations want us to hear. Kindave like the general media, haha.

  • @Bitterblogger oh so true, since the beginning.

  • Very first time on acid. WHOAAAAAALY SHIT!

  • @nutella1ful Well you certainly picked the right period to listen to then, LOL!

  • Hippy music,

  • I do a tribute version of this song, but no one can do it like Deep Purple! Regards, The '62 Mathew St. Band (1 Man-Full Group Retro)

  • oh fucking hell, blackmore is seriously tone deaf at times.

still the man did write "greensleeves" so you have to forgive him.

  • This reminds me of driving in my friend's '57 Chevy in So. California in the fog during the late 60s, outside of L.A. in the unincorporated areas of fields and open land (and not in school). No worries. Fond memories.

  • Erich745: yep need more cowbell :D:D:D

  • @flowerpower644 You need more Christopher Walken!

  • this kills, rips, tears, & shreds in all directions & on all levels. thanks for posting this, definitely a Fave - excellent sound quality! Regards, '62 Mathew St.

  • Needs more cowbell

  • è con questo brano che inizia la leggenda dei Deep Purple nel Marzo del 1968 uscì il loro 1° album....shades of deep purple.

  • Where it all started. Legendary band. I love Deep Purple, shame I'm only 16 and couldn't see them when they were at their peak!

  • What a great opener, I would love for them to open a concert these days with it.

  • probably the best song on the album deep purple actually wrote
