  • I have been told that I seem angry when I discuss the topic of neutering. It's true: I am angry... and frustrated with people who think because I believe sexually mutilating my friends is unethical that I'm being irresponsible and that people that believe as I do are to blame for a canine overpopulation problem and all the suffering this implies. Yeah, liars and control freaks make me angry.

  • My dog lucky is a black lab. Damn good dog. He should mate and make pups. But my fucking retarded god damned fucking stupid ass state had to get him neutered...

  • although... this one looks preity grousome

  • what the fuck are you guys talking about! dog spaying is a good thing! And please if dogs could peak the human languege they have no languge cortex in thier brain so just SHUT UP!

man you people are anoying! look if we dont spay dogs there would be an over-flow at shelters and thousands apon thousands of dogs would be put down or worse, neglected into death. it really isnt a bad thing hey after she had me my mom had her toobs tied. its not a difficult proseadure and it helps stop cruilty.

  • I really don't want to do it to my puppy but I adopted her from the shelter and they said it's the law of Georgia that all dogs get spayed or neutered ;(

  • If only dogs could speak human language, they'll tell you not to do this to them. How will they ever breed? This is the worst animal cruelty that there as could be. Dog fighting isn't even as cruel as this nor is taking a dogs life because of population. But when you take something important away from them and let them live without it, that's the most cruel thing in this world. Human like those are just too greedy. Just because they're dog, human can treat them like that.

  • @ObtainingNewLevels ok look if dogs werent spayed there would be a ton of dogs running around the streets suffering from diseases and mal-nuirishment. the dogs dont know they are spayed and they dont know its somthing they should have. its not greedy. its greedy when somone tries to make a dolar by breeding dogs that wont be wanted and will be put into a shelter then put down... its a waste. not all dogs are going to be breed anyway so it prevents heath issuses. its not that bad. okay? ;)

  • @ObtainingNewLevels How can you consider dog fighting, where one dog may be forced to tear another dog's throat out for human entertainment, less cruel than a quick surgery preformed under anesthesia followed by pain killers? Spaying doesn't only prevent puppies. It helps prevent against mammary cancer and completely prevents pyometras (common uterine infections), ovarian cancer, and other reproductive diseases. What is greedy about giving our loved pets a chance to live healthier lives?

  • @youseeMaggieC Why don't I scoop out your eye balls? maybe take away one of your foot. Wait I know, lets spay humans because it'll make them live longer healthier lives and it will help stop cause over population then? When it's on dogs, it's no big deal but LETS PUT IT ON HUMANS TOO HUH? WHY DON'T WE SPAY EVERYTHING BECAUSE THAT'LL MAKE THEM THIS MUCH BETTER HUH? dog fights but they heal back. It's in their nature to fight. it's what god given. This disturbs the balances of life.

  • @youseeMaggieC Let me warn you though, once somethings are disturb bad things happen. The better it seems mean the worst it can get. There's a balance. What do you get when something is already balance but you take 5 pounds off the other end? This side will get better but the other side will cause something you can't imagine. I think if we upgrade the way how we educate others than everything will be alright. This method isn't solving anything but is actually running away.

  • Just for all you haters out there for this surgery...I'll let you know, I'm really against it myself, but for females that YOU ARE NOT PLANNING TO BREED, SPAYING is a good thing. After a lot of thought, we had out 7 year old female spayed-and they found her uterus was developing a tumor in it. This was because of hormonal changes happening in her body. It's better for your dog to LIVE sterile, rather than dying early of Cancer or Infection. Seriously :/

  • @Livatube it doesnt hurt! them and they get a anasphetic

  • can't tell any difference from chicke gut myslef but as someone who'se going to have two dogs spayed soon thanks, it was reassuring to see that this seems relatively simple to someone who knows what they're doing (and even if it isn't, at least it's not that invasive)

    but lose the music ffs!

  • @thegreatmathsdebate gonna rape ur spayed dogs innit

  • Im being serious, they should do this to sexual predators, and pedophiles..

  • Love the song

  • EEWWW soo much worse then a cat!!!! :(

  • what kind of dog was it

  • did the dock just stuff the napkin in the opening and left it there? 1:33

  • @NumberSe7enCha he takes it back out at 10:24

  • Please spay. A couple hundred dollars now could save you hundreds to thousands later on.

  • Always neuter / spay your pets! My GSD is having neuter surgery on august 5 2011

  • *sarcasm* i love sticking my fingers inside a dogs vagina

  • It hurt! I don't want dog hurt! :(

    Tht make me cry

  • @joelinepretty79 they put them under anesthetic... they can't feel anything.... it might look painful but it isn't at all for the pet during the surgery, but of course they will be in a little pain afterwards but not an intolerable amount. It is much better to have them spayed instead of having to deal with male dogs trying to mate with your dog, having to watch other dogs fight over your dog, sometimes severely harming to other dog and they don't even have anesthetic. And labor is very painful.

  • The mandatory castration of our dogs & cats in Volusia County, Florida swells the ranks of tranquil, peaceable pets. [Billions of tax dollars annually are appropriated to indoctrinate & befuddle our children in the weak, often hoaxed, eugenics-advocating, genocidal postulation that is Darwinism. The illegitimate U.S. govt. is run by corporators, not populists.]

  • Once we accept the propaganda of veterinarians that the surgical ablation of our dogs' & cats' testes & ovaries is of no more consequence than the removal of ornaments from a Christmas tree then we are primed to accept the same nonsense in regards to Human Beings. The ovaries & testes are integral in the regulation of metabolic function. Are your testicles, or ovaries, incidental, redundant, unnecessary and superfluous?

  • If you have a female dog and she goes through heat, that scent travels for about 4 miles. So, if you don't want unwanted puppies, please get her spayed. My female puppy was up and playing like nothing happened the next day. As far as the males, it will keep them from roaming and will bring down aggression. It worked in my male beagle.

  • Greyhounds race, bets are placed, the dogs race muzzled so as not to bite one another—the owners could've had their dogs' teeth extracted but instead they chose muzzles as the solution to this periodic problem & danger. Obviously, the dogs needn't be muzzled at all times. How hard is it anyway to keep a bitch in estrus away from intact male dogs? Keep her penned when she's in heat, as her condition is fleeting. Like a storm cloud it shall pass.

  • if the only risk of not getting my dog spayed is unwanted puppies...

then i'll not have her spayed her cuz theres not much loose dog around...

and i heard about a risk of cancer, but then i heard also that her

oestrogen had a protective effect against cancer cells, big contradiction.

    anyways, can anybody guide me?

its for the sake of my 7 month old

dog beggining her 1st cycle today...

  • @benybeny420

me too, i need some info so if anybody has knowledge or experience in the matter...

    well, we'd like your advice.

  • Hi @benybeny420 There are many reasons to spay your dog other than no puppies. Not going into heat will save you the mess and your dog the discomfort. It also does prevent cancer. As a veterinary student I've read many scientific articles about hormones increasing the risk of cancer, never the opposite. Mammary (breast) cancer is a worry, as are uterine and ovarian cancers. Also, older unspayed dogs are prone to uterus infections (called pyometra) that can be very dangerous and require surgery.

  • @youseeMaggieC The mess? dog discomfort? Let's spayed and ur whole family and please let me hear about what you have to say after. This is greed.

  • dont we currently have a human overpopulation?

why dont we castrate some of those dumb mothafuckas roaming around,

    what dya think?

at least theyll get to choose : typical knife surgery, or chemical injection.

  • @benybeny420 or we could kill all the niggers...

  • Dog just like human they getting horny and then you (the owner) be chasing your dog and praying that no one hit / kill your baby.

This procedure just makes them less interested of sex and other dogs. Makes your life easer.

  • I wonder how can really stop the dog from licking the incision? At some point you can't watch the dog around the clock.

  • @macuser5555

cone around the head... poor thing

  • Okay, for all of you saying that this is horrible and inhumane, maybe you should get your facts straight. When dogs aren't neutered or spayed, there's a good chance that if they get out they can impregnate or get impregnated which could result in unwanted puppies -- which then become stray and homeless puppies. Then there are more sick, dying puppies on the streets. Spaying or neutering a dog is completely safe and painless, since they are put asleep during surgery! You are doing a good thing!

  • @tayjanasik how would u like it if us humans got neutered or spayed?

  • what does spayying do

  • @C1337Sremix

It makes the female dog not be able to have puppies anymore, makes her less aggressive and prevents her from getting ovarian cancer

  • @yourmomxxpp2 the puppy part is sad but the aggressive part is good :3

  • I'm thinking if everyone saw this video before they had their dog spayed, they wouldnt do it.... just had my dog spayed last Monday... this looks so owwey... :( the music can go... but it was a very interesting video.. thanks

  • when I buy a dog, Iam not gonna let them suffer like this,

  • @shivanebangkok2008

Ok so would you rather have your dog be sexually aggressive and confused, have unneccessary puppies and have a higher possiblitiy of getting ovarian cancer? Getting a dog spayed/neutered is the best thing you can do for your dog

  • @yourmomxxpp2 I used to have a female german shepherd, she was never spayed for life and she was never even aggressive because she was strictly trained, she had puppies and they had a great home, it depends how u train ur dog how to become obedient and not to be sexually aggressive and attack u. I have a healthy unspayed toy poodle,

besides they never got ovarian cancer

  • and i thought the neutering would be bloody................

  • Does he ever pull that cloth back out (1:32) cause I didn't see it if he did?

  • @J98cherokee Omgh you are right :O

  • @J98cherokee yes. 3.28

  • im new to watching this....... gross

  • my dog was spayed and is it bad is their stomach goes blue after one day?

  • @chipoochie that doesn't sound very promising, maybe just give the vet a call so you can check up? Or is it gone already?

  • @MrHaaske yeah, that same day i posted this i got her chedcked out, she is fine it was only her shaved fur, but it couldnt help to be sure right :) it's been two weeks already, she is doing fine she is up on her feet, jumping around, her incision is completley gone, and i am releived she is okay from the operation :)

  • @chipoochie I'm glad to hear that =) You would never believe it, but today I went to the vet with my dog. I have a 2 year old german shepherd and he just trew up like a torpedo yesterday and this day he did too and he became inactive what is not like him. The vet diagnosed a stomach torsation what moved the spleen and internal organs. So he asked me to watch since Im a vetenary student and he placed all back in good position. Now he is at the facility, probably waking up. Hope he'll feel ok now.

  • @MrHaaske oh no, i hope you dog is okay, i have a chihuahua terrier myself. best wishes to your dog and its health :)

  • @chipoochie Thank you very much =) We picked him up from the clinic today and he is happy again, he is lifting his head up again and he wants to play again! (even though he is not allowed to, he needs to rest). I'm so glad, my worries have totally dissapeared. Also the vet told me I could always rely on him if I wanted to gain experience into his clinic, which is quite a big offer to me. Also his clinic is very high tech, I've never seen something like it before

  • I feel it Very Wrong to have your pets Spayed or Neutered, just be a responsible pet owner then you will NOT have a problem, Humans should done to eliminate all the unwanted pregnancies, when people cannot be responsible for there sexual acts that makes us worse than our pets, I have been a dog owner for most of my life and never allowed my dogs to mate, nor would I allow my vet to neuter them, like the dog I have now has got all his bits, and that's the way he will stay as God intended him.

  • @markadoglet There are many health problems that come to a dog if they have their sexual organs and don't use them.

  • @markadoglet Um that's really irresponsible of you. Dogs are not like humans, they don't mate to have a good time or the pleasure they mate for the sole purpose of reproduction. Dogs and cats accidentaly get loose sometimes and it only takes one time to get pregnant. I am a very responsible pet owner but my animals have gotten out a few times in the past and had the not been spayed/neutered wham they could get pregnant. Spaying and neutering healthier, so stop being selfish and do wha';s right

  • @markadoglet I'm not trying to say you're a bad person, but you should know the facts becuase pet overpopulation is a huge population

  • simple continous type of suture, yet kinda cheap considering that skin could have been sutured up simple interrptted. Easier, but quick and bloodless, was this surgery done alone?? I like it dough... 8/10.

  • i hope its ok

  • My blue female pity got spayed today, she is resting in her warm bed.

  • I was just curious what my Lexy went through yesterday when she got spayed.. Thank you.. I'll try to make her recovery less painful by pampering her..

  • I think I lasted 30 seconds.

  • It's all over dogy :(

  • My dog couldn't stop peening so she had surgery now she can't play or run poor thing

  • My dog got spayed and when me and my 8 year old girl went to the hospital to pick her up she looked like she was about to die and my daughter was crying because she felt very sorry for her and right now our dog is sleeping because of her anesthesia .

  • @MsStrawberrysweetie1 You did the right thing, though. She'd be even more unhappy if she were in heat every so often with male dogs trying to get to her desperately. She won't get pregnant now and you won't be adding to the many puppies that are being disposed of because there's no room!

  • Aw, my puppy got spayed today. Poor little thing.

  • u know my bros gf saw this in person

  • Ouch. I see what my dog(s) went through when they got surgery or spayed. watever.

  • @212lele

Spay and neuters are really important surgeries! There are other options besides that cone of shame too. My puppy wore the Surgi Snuggly and it was really nice and soft, in fact she loves it still!

    T

  • @TonuaLeigh Yea. She was getting fixed. But all good now. :)

  • the dog stops breathing halfway through!!!!! wtf

  • Any advice for anyone aspiring to study Vet Bioscience?

  • I got my dog spayed today :O i can't belive she went throught that joke :D xxx

  • Thank you for the video. Very interesting, I'd love to be a vet!

  • thats sad

  • when I was young I all was thought they just put the dog to sleep...then just take out their balls....I guess its more complicated

  • This is really a good sterile operation. Please spay and neuter.

  • OMG...my 2.5 lb pomchi is getting spayed next weekend.......WOW

  • That's a wild video, made me cringe. My 2 pups got neutered today. I felt so bad but was told it is the right thing to do.

  • Νομίζω η μουσική και τα σχόλια είναι εντελώς ηλίθια και δεν χρειαζόντουσαν γι αυτό το video

  • im eating---?

  • i really wanted to watch this video, but the fucking music just ruined it for me

  • sacksmacker, that was hilarious such a simple remark but freaking hilarious!!!

  • Clean and tidy procedure, but where is the scalpel handle, doctor?

  • 10:42, He's fingering her

  • Thankyou so much for showing this, im currently 15 years old and i reallyyyyyyyy want to become a vet, this has showed me possible things i need to learn! 10/10

  • i love all these ignorant, stupid comments below. not everyone uses what's called a "scalpel" handle (not a "knife" handle), and i'm sure someone with 0 training can suture better than a vet. hahaha. go to vet school first before you judge people.

  • interesting, i've never seen an actually spay being done, so this was very educational. i'm about to have my own dogs spayed, though i need to wait til a week after their 1st heat cycle is done, which shouldn't be long now.

  • Horrific music! Quick and pretty easy surgery. Interesting that the vet didn't use a knife holder. I like that combo needle driver/scissor instrument. I think I sew a better subcu stich myself!

  • It was 61 dollars for my dog

  • WTF!!!! THE MUSIC IS POINTLESS!!!!

  • 10 min, 250$, thats like, 1500$ an hour...

  • Very nice job. Wasn't all for the music but a very.... Uhm educational thing to watch. It barely phased me. The only thing that made my toes scrunch up was when you yanked when sowing up her muscle wall. But other that that I was very relaxed and calm thinking I can do that.. Is vet school a very big challange? I mean I know it is difficult but is it to the point to where you can't cope with the stress ready to rip your hair our challanging??

  • for some reason everytime the vet took the needle in his hand i had the impression it was gonna get stuck in his finger x.x wtf

  • It was kinda scary when he just stuck his friggin finger inside the animal and was like, moving it around vigorously o_o I mean I think he should be a bit more gentle xD

  • i got mine sspayed today thats soo nasty shes sooo small and shes got that cone collar on poor puppyy

  • There is one big problem, this female dog is dead !!!!

  • dont try this at home kids

  • if i get my dog spay will she still go through dog heat?

  • @QuiCkScOpeZII510 nope lucky you

  • @QuiCkScOpeZII510 nope...once the dog is spayed, she would not go through dog heat, nor will she get pregnant

  • @QuiCkScOpeZII510 Of course not o: That's basically the point of neutering

  • This vet sewed it up pretty well compared to the one on the dogs I've had before.

  • surgery is not a race. You shouldn't grab the needle with your fingers, you shouldn't grab the skin with your forceps, and you shouldn't connect your abdominal incision to your skin. You did it fast but with poor surgical technique.

  • it's really hard

  • Amigo... cómprese un manguito para el bisturí, auque sea para cuando hace los videos.....

  • why did the vet shove the paper into the dog?>

  • @TopazSkillMauler yeah ikr? o_o

  • my dog is a german shepherd/black lab.

She's going in for this procedure tomorrow morning. Thanks for the great video, I feel much better now, knowing this procedure only took ten minutes and was relatively simple.

  • @pianopaulus ahaha trust me, whoever it is in the video is freakishly good at spaying dogs. I've worked at a vet for a little bit, and the most experienced vets can complete the procedure in anywhere between 10 - 20 minutes. Most vets though take around half an hour since locating the ovaries and managing to get them to stick out of the incision is quite tricky.

  • My rotweiller is going to be spay in two days, that's is why I want to know what is that about. The video is great, didactic and useful. One more thing: the music is inapropiate, it's just awful

  • dont wanna be fucked up but dog fingered hahah... no not funny at all

  • I'm getting my dog spayed sometime by the end of this month and wanted to see how the procedure was done.... this is terrifying me and I hope she's the same after because if this part of her being removed makes her all "bitchy" ... idk what i'd do.

  • My little weimaraner girl got spayed yesterday. Poor baby was so tired she didn't eat. Just slept all afternoon. She almost back to normal today. I feel horrible ripping a part of them out like that, but I guess its for their long term health. I still just feel really low and dirty for having a part of my dog removed.

  • ouch, but its good for your dog

  • my 8 month old goldy started bleeding im getting her spayed 2 wks after she turns 1

  • 10 days have been pased since my chiguagua had this operation..... first days were bad, but right now she's all active. on tuesday they wiill remove the sutures

  • It's discusting.

  • ouch really pain ful

  • It would have been nice i we could actually SEE the technique. Thanks for the video anyhow.

  • very clear job. what is the tec. of skin stitching ?

  • hey m puppy is psayed and she keeps on shivering non a bit is she just sore or is something wrong? i give her the pills as directed and am careful about her fixing area

  • The song fits PERFECTLY, it makes it sound like they have a time limit before the dog dies and they work as fast as they can.

  • @IceTeaEdwin my puppy got spayed today

  • Actually, I really like the music. Better than listening to heavy breathing and the pulse oximeter. Dr. Webb -- I love this song but can't find anywhere to download. Any tips? Nice spay by the way -- this vis helped me prepare for my junior surgery rotation.

  • the stupid music is really fucking unecessary

  • Agreed.

  • This video really helpful for me. But what happens if you do not have enough thread while sewing the skin together?

  • Then they tie it off and start a new one. Just like if you were sewing :)

  • @XxxLoveBrokencydeXxx are u stupid? in what situation would a veterinary surgeon operate with not enough thread for sewing them back up. bit of common sense mate.

  • sorry i am only 13

  • poor doggy

  • Oh, please. This routine surgery is nothing compared to some of the huge whack orthopedic stuff in my orthopedic rotation in vet school. If you don't have a strong stomach, pick something other than vet medicine. I promise, it's not glamorous. Especially when you're elbow deep in a momma cow trying to dig out her stillbirth calf. Or you have a necrotic small bowel to operate on. This is nothing!

  • which vet school do you go to?

  • Auburn

  • nice, I am shooting for colorado state or cornell

  • Best of luck to you! Cornell is very hard, very expensive, but very worth it. The best vets I've known all went to Cornell. I know one particularly well-known Diplomate of the ACVS who is just fantastic. Best of luck, again. You'll make it!

  • Thanks so much! I hear Cornell only accepts 86 students or so a year.....haha. I am interested in their dual DVM/PhD program :O. So any encouragement is great. Although, if I do go to any other school, it wouldn't make me any less of a vet....just a little harder to find a zoo position :P

  • @kissesofsunshine Zoo residencies are very difficult. 4 years of post DVM education + the GPA required for the residency/internship. I've considered going to medical school after veterinary school. I love being a veterinarian, but I enjoy research... I think doing medical and veterinary research (particularly in oncology) would be nice. I don't know what I want to do though. ^_^ I might wind up in a surgery residency for vetmed. My future is so up in the air!

  • Wow, I didn't expect the residency to last THAT long. So after undergraduate school, graduate, plus residency and internships....that's over twelve years! I will barely be a freshman next fall at the UofA. But I don't find it too deterring. I can't really see myself as anybody that isn't constantly learning.

At least it sounds like you have some leanings to what you might want to consider, and that's great! I am sure your peers are experiencing the same thing. Oncology sounds wonderful.

  • @kissesofsunshine Oncology is really fabulous. I wish there was a more effective cure for, particularly in dogs, hemangiosarcoma. I don't know if that cancer is common in humans or not, but it's really deadly. It seems as if all dogs with cancer die very soon from their disease. It's heartbreaking. I lost a dog to cancer recently, and it's very hard. I suppose she inspired me, somewhat.

  • ummmm errrrrrrkkkk VOMIT EVERYWHERE

  • omfg.

  • im applying to uc davis to be a vet but after this video i dont rly have a strong stomache to do that but no other career interests me..

  • How much does this cost???

  • its not so bad. the dog needs the surgery hes simply doing it too save the dog.

  • @pinkie783 retard its spaying, for breeding control, its not to "save" the dog RETARD

  • Oh wow.. I thought I wanted to be a vet.. but the way he is digging inside of that dog changed my mind.. Can anyone who is a vet, or knows about it at least, tell me who doesn't do surgeries, but can still do physical examinations, vaccinations, and other things, like a nurse would if we were talking about the human field. I know about assistants, and technicians.. but assistants don't do as much as I would like to, and technicians do more. So I'm kinda stuck. Thanks in advance!

  • @TheKarlez I believe that it's called a Veterinary assistant their like nurses.

  • and i was thinking about becoming a vet...

  • damn thats alot of nasty shit

  • what do u call the suturing technique that u used..? that seemed so relaxed & easy. btw, am also a vetmed fresh grad.

  • eughh!!!

  • Very well done. This surgeon makes it look easy but it is not easy.

  • can someone please explain why they do this? sorry, I'm a slow person. lol thanks :D

  • so they cant have babies!!!!!!!!! also to remove and or prevent deadly infection in the uterus called pyometra.

  • to prevent the conception and birth of more animals.

  • its ok some people dont know ether..

they do this so the dog wont get pregnant and reduces the chance of getting cancer

  • simple and the best

  • Job well done.....

  • holy crap. welllllll......i am so so so happy you tube put up this video bc i almost changed my major to prevet...its no surprise that i felt like fainting during the course of this vid lol...im so thankful to those who can handle that and save our animals lives though!!! :) kudos to you vets!!!!

  • 0.o now that i'm seeing this i'm praying to God that my dog didn't experience anesthesia awareness...

  • I got my dog spay today..omg now i get to see what happend to her, thanx for the video, she is sleepin right now,i guess she is not feelin gud,but this is the best thing u can do to ur dog.

  • ILYKAILEY you got 3 thumbs down cause you are selfish.. ya it looks scarry but unless you plan on bereeding for a long time, it lowers their risks of health problems in the future..

  • OMG!! I need to get my pup spayed... but i know ill be crying when she is away from home.. but it is for her own health cause Im not a breeder and she is like a child to me and my BF.. I love my Princess Tobi..

  • MY POOR DOG. I got her spayed today...we get to see her tomorrow =] poor thing...O.o

  • very clean and neat

  • im changing my mind about being a vet now =(

    this gives me nightmares!
