I'd love to own a viper but here in the Netherlands buy and owning a car is so fucking expensive :( For example a dodge challenger srt10 in america costs 60,000 dollars, in holland a new one costs 90,000 euros...that's 120,000 dollars! Fucking redicilous >.< Not to mention that 1 gallon of fuel here is 6.4 euros (not kidding) and the road taxes and stuff like that are out of the roof. In other words only if you have a 100,000 euro salary you can afford one =( I wish I lived in america sometimes

The Ultima GTR being a supercar is not apples to oranges. It was about engine choice for possibly the best street car in the world. By definition the ACR and ZR1 are both supercars too because of their performance, price, and appeal.
I wouldn't consider either the Corvette or Viper "Supercars". I think usually Supercars most commonly are above $300k, very limited production, and more often than not are mid-engined and not street legal.
The ZR1 has the same Brembo brakes that are on the Ferrari FXX. They pretty much are the best brakes in the world.
Where do you live that supercars aren't street legal? You can drive things like an Enzo, Zonda, MC12, Carrera GT, Veyron, Murceilago, S7, Aero, GTR on the road in most countries.

Fish, I already addressed that thing about the ACR on a track. They race tuned it with aero and a wing. It now gets ten times the down force that wing gives it over the regular Viper and the ZR1 doesn't have any of that stuff. If they made a Corvette like that, if would beat it easily seeing as how they are already only four seconds behind on a track that large without any racing setup.
You are also not noting that the Corvette is MUCH more aerodynamic and slightly faster. So, on any straights it by far has the advantage helping to level it out.
Just a side note. They have gotten ZR1's through a slalom at 75mph before. I posted the viper time because that was the one I remember off the top of my head. I am not going to waste time looking for the best fucking times. I didn't look up the better ZR1 time either. It was nice of you to grab that time for the Viper but its not bullshit facts. At some point, that mag ran a viper and got 70.2. It's called experimental error and and varying conditions.

Actually, they upgraded the launch control on the 2010 ZR1 and the 2009 is the one that has been tested 99% of the time. It is the ZR1 not getting a fair deal if anything.

First, it by FAR does not have the best brakes in the world. Million dollar + cars have far better brakes. Traction Control, tons of vehicles have that. Magnetic suspension...they aren't the first.
@grfurby viper posted a 1.04 lateral g in early production. that number MAY be slightly off, but in the same article (car and driver) an F40 couldn't quite match it. so at this point, in my opinion anyway, there's not much more that the viper has to prove to anyone. as an aside, the viper (sans aero-work) murders every car in looks from where I sit, but the corvette sounds a giant shitload better.

The Ultima GTR being a supercar is not apples to oranges. It was about engine choice for possibly the best street car in the world. By definition the ACR and ZR1 are both supercars too because of their performance, price, and appeal.

I wouldn't consider either the Corvette or Viper "Supercars". I think usually Supercars most commonly are above $300k, very limited production, and more often than not are mid-engined and not street legal.

The ZR1 has the same Brembo brakes that are on the Ferrari FXX. They pretty much are the best brakes in the world.
Where do you live that supercars aren't street legal? You can drive things like an Enzo, Zonda, MC12, Carrera GT, Veyron, Murceilago, S7, Aero, GTR on the road in most countries.
Not really a fan of furby's comments though but he is right about the brakes.

the full extent of your qualifier is exclusivity. seems to me a bit narrow-minded.
a 'supercar' is defined by its performance, and the definition is compiled, literally, by a very few simple measurements. and if a $100k car can outperform a $300k car......so what? I honestly don't know what a viper or zr1 retails for, but they can each apparently can make an Enzo, for example, look, well, lacking, in nearly every sense.

Fish, I already addressed that thing about the ACR on a track. They race tuned it with aero and a wing. It now gets ten times the down force that wing gives it over the regular Viper and the ZR1 doesn't have any of that stuff. If they made a Corvette like that, if would beat it easily seeing as how they are already only four seconds behind on a track that large without any racing setup.

Just a side note. They have gotten ZR1's through a slalom at 75mph before. I posted the viper time because that was the one I remember off the top of my head. I am not going to waste time looking for the best fucking times. I didn't look up the better ZR1 time either. It was nice of you to grab that time for the Viper but its not bullshit facts. At some point, that mag ran a viper and got 70.2. It's called experimental error and and varying conditions.

The 08 SRT-10 is the same generation as the 2010. It represents what a new one can do as long as they haven't made any major changes. Actually, they upgraded the launch control on the 2010 ZR1 and the 2009 is the one that has been tested 99% of the time. It is the ZR1 not getting a fair deal if anything.

You are comparing an ALL motor to a SUPERCHARGED motor. Chevy, like Ford, refuse to build a WORTHY motor. Instead, they slap a Band-Aid on it, either a turbo or s/c and act like hot shit. Anyone can slap one on without a problem.
Viper is PURE motor and PURE motor greatness. You can EASILY add forced induction on the Viper + a tune for less than the ZR1 and LEAVE IT IN THE DUST.

First, it by FAR does not have the best brakes in the world. Million dollar + cars have far better brakes. Traction Control, tons of vehicles have that. Magnetic suspension...they aren't the first.

@grfurby viper posted a 1.04 lateral g in early production. that number MAY be slightly off, but in the same article (car and driver) an F40 couldn't quite match it. so at this point, in my opinion anyway, there's not much more that the viper has to prove to anyone. as an aside, the viper (sans aero-work) murders every car in looks from where I sit, but the corvette sounds a giant shitload better.

I am not going to dog the Vetter, because the Zr1 kicks some serious ass, but if you think something is better because it has traction control then I do not know what to say! Look, the problem is, the zr1 looks like all the other vettes, you pull up in a Viper and everyone looks, you can part it next to a Farrari and people will look at both, no one will notice the Vette. But whats most important is that both performe big time and I prefer cars that I drive and do not drive me.
