i like the aspect of the 00 Buck- because the lead balls are large. so it's like shotting 9 or 15 lil 32 calibre bullets at your target. or in some cases 38 calibre .. or the slug factor. man oh man the shotgun is still the most versatile weapon we citizenz can go to a store and buy.. . it's good for zombies... riot's (riot gun) crowd control.. home defense.. hunting.. intimidation.. reliability... etc... etc... etc... etc... COMBAT shotgun's are awesome....
It's kind of the "one size fits most" type of weapon. I agree with you there, a fully-loaded combat shotgun like the 9-shot 590 is one of the most destructive and effective types of guns civilians can own without further paperwork/etc. It's also multi-purpose, so I could put it to use with a vast variety of munitions for a huge amount of different tasks.
how was the trigger pull on the 590? some people complain of a really hard trigger pull on the 590, either way on your 590 run & gun course you did, on this video. you ran dry on your first couple of targets. one way to avoid this is to have a mental count of shots fired and when u run dry, slap a shell into the open breech then shuck it closed as u maintain vigilance toward the threat. then do ur reloading as u desire because ur ready...
I love my 590 owned it for about 12 years without incident. It is a workhorse. Only problem is the length of pull. Unless you have some seriously long arms, the stock needs half an inch or so taken off. And finally it looks crazy/badass with a bayonet affixed.
The 870 and 1300 are both great but I have always been a Mossberg guy. Had one or more for years. I use my 590a1 and dig the ghost rings. My wife uses her 500c setup for her to use for home defense and that thing is probably 20 years old and runs like a champ. Gotta love it. Excellent vid as always bro.
Hey nutnfancy just wana say I been watching ur vids for enough and they are just awsome. Great information the talking points are excellent. I actually just subscribed and got a youtube account cuse ur vids are just awsome. Great job and thanks so much for doing what you do! I was wondering how you rig up you lbe for tactical shotgun? What do u use to hold your ammo? Shell caddys? Cuse I'm at the point where I have my tactical shotgun,(590a1) love it! And I don't know how to rig up my lbe for i
If you have the 590 on "safe" & make some hard movements that knock off the 590's safety selector, you are left without a shotgun that works. That's the main reason I like the 870 better.
Nice video. As always, good material presentation. Have you considered the use of a steady cam attachment for your video camera? It would really enhance the running video by adding a form of image stabilization. If I may ask, what video camera, and editing software are you using to shoot your videos. Your video quality is outstanding, where can I find out more about the video details used for your video postings? Great stuff you have put together here.
yo. love your videos mate. been a subscriber for quite a while now. Near the end of your video you mentioned the thicker walled/gauged barrel on the m590. i may be wrong but i believe this is so the barrell can be threaded for chokes. maybe try taking the 590 and the 870 down to a gunsmith and asking which could be/would be easier to thread. the remaining material on the barell may be "too thin" for "safety" reasons after bieng threaded. Keep up the good work mate.
@MOAMarksman Not enough characters for me to type type exactly what I wanted to.... Again, I really like the project and think this review is fantastic. Tones of good info (just as in all the TNP vids). Just my opinion that, given their differences, it's possible "Mileage may vary" between an 870 Police and an 870Express Tactical... Thats all. Cheers
I know you can miss with a shotgun. Not to brag but everytime I go out shooting with a friend and theres a shotgun. I am the only one to smack the target from 15yrds away. While my friends usally miss.
I carried a Benelli m4 in Iraq (usmc). Always had to carry CLP with me because if any dirt got inside of it, it wouldnt rack a round, if I didnt have time to CLP it i would have to put the buttstock on the ground and kick start it like a harley, dangerous yes. Another problem was that when using bean bag rounds, it didnt generate enough force to even get it all the way through the barrell. So I had to cut the round in half ( down to the wadding in front of the bean bag) and self load them.
@dislexic0311 Thank you for your real world experience. How do you feel a pump action would have preformed given the same conditions you were exposed to?
I have to disagree with the validity of just racking the slide, hoping to scare the bad guy off. First, it will give away your position, which could be bad, especially in a home def. situation. While it MIGHT scare the BG off it may also cause him to start spraying rounds into the dark at you, not good. Also, if staring down the bore of a 12 Ga doesn't scare a BG off, racking a slide won't.
I'm with Nutnfancy. Anything I can do to prevent killing someone would be preferable. Almost anybody coming in your house will hear that sound and know that it is the sound of death and their life is not worth whatever's in the house. For the insane or drugged-up guys that may stay, they will be dealt with. A criminal would rather go unopposed and when threatened they will most likely leave, staying to engage in a gun fight is not a preferable option for almost everybody.
@Mr2ndAmendment Very valid points. I agree w/ doing all you can to avoid killing. I'll give the intruder verbal commands through my bedroom door to go away or get out of my house and hopefully he will. However, I don't want to telegraph the fact I'm armed, for reasons I stated in my last comment. The bad guy doesn't know I have a gun, which is my biggest advantage & I want to maintain that. The only time I want him to know I'm armed is if he comes into bedroom & I must shoot.
Just to throw in a tid-bit about the fact that you said the Mossberg 590 was the ONLY shotgun to pass the military specifications....
Actually, the Remington 870 was the only other shotgun to pass as well....only reason the military went with the Mossberg 590 instead, was really just a simple factor of cost. The 870, at the time, cost almost 200 US dollars more per unit. Now, why the military didn't just come out with the truth, remains to be a mystery.
Your shooting at the wrong targets. We have plenty of worthless gangbangers down here in LA ruining our city. I could give you a list of many other good targets that would make this a better world.
hey nutnfancy. i have a question. on the 590A1 Mariner. Is it possible to extend the tube that holds the shell and can a person buy a 20 in barrel for it?
@chopperjoe8908 Yep, you can get a 20inch barrel and an 8 shot bag tube. Check out aftermarket suppliers and mossbergs website for the part numbers. And make sure you're getting 590 barrels/tubes and not 500. They are not exactly the same.
I was in the USMC from 99-03. I was with straight leg infantry and we used 870s. I only saw them once on an ammo dump ex in Kuwait. I was with the MSPF for two years in which we used Benenlli semi autos. USMC always gave us low recoil ammo so we got a lot of training clearing the gun. I never saw any Mossbergs but from what I understand from friends still in the Corps that is all that is used. The POU is mostly for breeching. I currently own a 590A1 and love it. THANKS..I am a shotgun guy.
Some one said it's a good idea to try it and see how it works. Ask your self. Do get into an accident with your car...just to see how it works. You train to avoid those situations. You train to stay alive. Let's look at all the special forces and swat teams. Do they train to reload while moving in a house. NO! that could earn you a bullet. Stop talking stupid. This is competition shooting and not tactical shooting. They are racing a clock not a combatant that wants you dead.
I would really like to know where the opening scene (the field of wildflowers with mountain in t he backdrop) filmed? Beautiful country. BTW great videos!
Name me ONE situation where any SWAT team did well against an equally armed, trained assailant/s??? The LA PD got shot to shit by 2 druggies, with AK47s, ( Materanos, Sorreno ) at a bank robbery. These guys were not even trying to kill the cops, and the cops were pulling their thumbs out of their asses, while people were getting shot. GO AHEAD, NAME ME ONE SITUATION IN THE US, WHERE THE COPS DID OK. The FBI got their asses shot off years ago also. Cops don't do well against equally-armed people.
@hammer555551 U make a good point.......L.E. does very well blowing away unarmed people, but when they are faced with even odds, they usually get owned big time.
@neckarsulme Where does it say L.E. has to fight fare. I will always want to bring the bigger gun. Try walking in our shoes for 20-30 years. I'm never suprised by the amount of ignorent people that are wasting oxygen. L.E. does not shoot unarmed people for poops and smiles. There is always a reason, but that reason is not always understood by stupid people.
@dep1040 Cops always have a reason to shoot people? lol on that one, u really must have ur head in the sand. innocent people are shot regularly by L.E. Do u think they r infallible? U really must be outta circulation if u never read the paper about un armed people posing no threat getting shot. But my original post concerned the fact that cops usually get owned in a even fight, particularly the two in L.A. who fought off 40 or 50 LAPD with some AKs. just remember cops make mistakes all the time.
@oeyesea while that point is true, its been proven that criminals actually practice with their weapons more than LE do, only a small percentage of LE train with their weapons enough to fire effectively, thats why whenever you see or hear about gunfights involving police or other LE, LE will usually be firing a lot more rounds as opposed to the "criminal"
@hammer555551 These two "druggies" you speak of, were wearing level III body armor from head to toe. They took a couple of muscle relaxants before the robbery to keep their heart rates down. I will concede that LAPD was "outgunned" due to their own sop restrictions of only carrying shotguns. That being said, both subjects were defeated. One by suicide after he ran out of AK47 ammo and the other in a hail of bullets by a, wait for it, SWAT team.
@gunnymeyer Yes, the stupid cops had to go to a local gun shop to get AR15s! LMAO!! Imagine big-shot LAPD going to a gun shop to get guns DURING a shoot-out!! The two robbers were not trying to get anybody, they were just spraying everybody, weren't they?? The robbers stayed there in the middle of the street and never ducked for cover or went after anybody. They stayed right there until some SWAT guys got there and shot them, one out in the open, one in front of a car. They were drugged.
@gunnymeyer Several bystanders were wounded and a couple of cops were also wounded. The only ones that died were the druggies. A bad response by police. These guys wreaked massive destruction, and were not neccessarily going after the cops. If they were, I think many cops would have been killed. They were druggies, and they still created a nightmare situation. Just goes to show how many police are un-prepared and ill-equpped for a fire-fight.
Nutnfancy, The 870 is tough as nails.I have shot 1000's of rounds through them. The only problem that I have ever had with them is that there's a rail that can pop out. It only happens to me when disassembling it.I think it's the rail that you have to push on inside the receiver to get the bolt out. They can be put back in and the gun will shoot just fine.Oh, and one other thing. My buddy got the 870 with speedfeed stock and desert camo finish. The finish chips easily around the speedfeed from use.
he uses that a reviewer vest. One side for rifle, one side for shotgun. In a couple of his videos, he acknowledges you wouldn't do this except for testing purposes.
So do you think the differences between 590 & 500 (thicker barrel, aluminum triggerguard) should REALLY be put into consideration in terms of home defense? I have a parkerized 500 with the same length barrel and same 8+1 magazine, but if it's worth the extra few bucks I will definitely invest in a 590
3000 rounds is not a lot for a military shotgun, that's only about 9 rounds a day for a year, including training. I think its an important data point, in fact probably a little low.
Quick question, what steal plates were you shooting. I am thinking about purchasing some, but not quite sure which one would be preferable for shotgun/hang gun shooting.
Mossberg's are very well made shotguns and at a reasonable price. I still find 870's at a fairly more expensive price than the Mossbergs may it is because of the steel reciever on the Remington 870. I love the extra round that the Mossberg presents and I truely love the Mossberg spx model. The Mossberg has the bayonet lug which is additional bonus.
Hands down the best home defense weapon on the market. I keep one at hands distance from my rack ready to roll n roll if the satiation should ever arise where I need maximum knock down power in a split second. The sound of the slide alone is a physiological advantage.
one thing you failed to mention is ATI stocks. i was looking at a M500 with a 'fixed' collapsable stock, and it was going for $200 more than the M590a1. you can get the same stocks through ATI for $70-$119. i saw the M590A1 when the M500 was being put back on the shelf. well, needless to say, like my last post i bought it. :) and for slugs, my cure all is Cabelas. the feedback is very helpfull in making my choices. and i love alomost all winchester ammo.
Is it ok to shoot rifled slugs from the Remington modified choke? I believe you cant shoot sabots but yeah... Also people are telling me to buy an Express Super Magnum over the regular Express... Its like 80-100 more I think (don't remember) but would I be better off with the Super Magnum? Thanks so much!
ur right u can miss with a shotgun. i went to the shooting range with my friend who has a mossberg 500 and we skeet shooted and i only missed like 1 out of 10. i was very impressed with my performance since that was my second time shooting a shotgun. i am more of a rifle man. 6 more months and i am going to finally buy my glock. glock 23 for me !
@Walkhard11 Some of the most powerful loads for the .500 S&W Magnum are just barely clearing 3,000 ft/lbs. Some shotgun loads will exceed 3,500 ft/lbs, with a .72" slug, or up to 24 .30 caliber lead pellets. The shotgun is going to be able to get on target faster and recover from recoil faster than a revolver, and it's going to be a lot less painful.
i have a security mossberg 500 and i wasnted to know if there is any risk of barrel damage shooting slugs though it? my dad told me not to but i havent been able to find evidence to support him
Interesting. I decided I just had to get myself back into a Mossberg 590, after letting a deputy I was riding with years ago talk me into selling mine to him. I decided that after looking though all the models to order this #51660. Great minds run on the same track! :-)
You should try gun like a marlin lever action carbine on your combat course. I just purchased one .38/.357 magnum 1894C and put a sling and red dot on it. A baaaad
he says dont turn your shotgun into a rifle? well when you live in this shithole area as i do and you cant use rifles but your allowed to use slugs and all we got is fields. you damn right im using rifled slugs.
@MrBobsrevenge I live in a city but I still practice w/and buy my fair shair of rifled slug's for my 1300 Defender, Mossy 930 SPX, and THIS M590A1 except w/GRS and SpeedFeed stock(#51668, and SpeedFeed stock is really impressing me with how well it retains!), from 25-30 yds, if I had my choice on a SINGLE or POSSIBLY two opponents I'd rather hit with an OUNCE of lead, instead of 55 grains!! But, it would probably be w/the 930 SPX as it fires so quickly, absorbs recoil and the LPA sights..GREAT!
@MrBobsrevenge And I get a GREAT sight pic w/930 SPX's LPA 'Italian Stallion' sights and just as good, although not as easy to adjust for windage, with the 590A1's Mossberg GRS', they DID PIONEER the term 'Ghost Ring Sights'!!! That's gotta SUCK having to hunt w/nothing but slugs, maybe rifled w/sabot's... But, that would certainly test one's skill's! Was thinking about picking up a 'Slugster' 500 for that!
@MrBobsrevenge Don't know where your talking about but lower michigan has that problem no rifles even though there is massive wide open areas that near require a rifle.
@MrBobsrevenge i think he is talking about a combat shotgun, hunting shotguns. hell yeah use them as rifles all day, but for security and homedefense, not so much. its just his POV
i don't think he's carrying buddy stores. it looks to me like he has a grab and go plate carrier set up for carbine on one side and shotgun on the other depending on what ur shooting that day
mossy 500 vs rem 870, mossy wins. its cheaper, lighter, and has better ergonomics. safety and pump release are all well placed. side saddles are easy to install. and a rail can be installed with out tapping. so imo for the money, a mossy 500 or 590a1 is better. theyre perfect
@sunandmoon111 Ammo on back = buddy stores. A friend can reload off you in a tactical stack situation. Also, the ammo on the back can be moved to the front (situation permitting) when the front quick access ammo is exhausted. In addition, seldom mentioned, but I have seen a double stack of metal ak-47magazines in a Russian ammo vest stop a .45 acp round in tests with ballistic gelatin. I wasn't there, it was a video so take it for what it's worth. Figure it can't hurt.
@3OCALM1 Here's the deal..First off you are now trying to focus on two things at once. Consider yourself lucky if you know the terrain and landscape. If you don't...there is a pretty good chance your ass is going to do a lip stand...then you are fucked. Secondly...you could run straight into another combatant who is loaded up...and you are the target.while you are fumbling with ammo.. People trip on their own steps trying to read the mail at the same time. Now try it under duress.
@TowTruckJoe1. Do you think in a tactical situation you’re going to have time to stop and tell your advisory/enemy to stop shooting at you while stop and reload?
@Bryansnod I don't pretend to know all the variables that may occur.. What you do in training is what you will do in real time. You will drop to the level of your training. this has been proven over and over...in real world gun fights. FACT! This is not combat shooting...this is trying to beat a clock. The most important thong in a gunfight is...your weapon goes bang. They shot dry. did not manage their ammo. always Reload behind cover. if no cover is available, Take a knee and reload.
@Bryansnod You actually make my point. This isn't real world training. A lot of bad ideas come from silly thoughts...that seem logical when you are training...but once the shit hits the fan...those ideas don't work so well. For instance...people that shoot on a controlled range. when they get a stoppage they stop, put their hand up and wait for someone else to clear their firearm. Guess what they do in a real gunfight when they get a stoppage? It's sad but true.
@TowTruckJoe1 No... I wasn't kidding. It is. At saved my life 2 years ago. Its ok to disappoint me. I'm just glad I'm here to raise my boy. You do as you wish.
@getemhi As I had said...I don't pretend to know all the variable that can happen in a gun fight. I'm glad it worked out for you. I don't know you r exact situation...and in that particular situation..it may have worked out for you. But..it doesn't always work. Are you LE, Military or other(civilian)??
@getemhi That's great. I love the marines. All my training comes from Max Joseph Retired marine on contract with the u.s. state department and the pentagon. Maybe you know him.
@TowTruckJoe1 No I don't know him. Actually, I have never heard of him. There are hundreds of retirees on contract with the pentagon. All of my training comes from the Corps itself. I have never really looked for any outside training. When I am out shooting on my own, I am just having fun, because I love to shoot, not training for combat.
There is a point to me asking what you do. I am curious to how you ended up in such a situation.? But I do not ask to be nosey. I ask to ascertain what line of work you are in and if this situation may occur again...or if you are someone that just got caught in a situation where you had to defend yourself. All this leads to if you are trained or not and if so by who? If you are not trained...then I would like to direct you to some serious no shit training.Just want to make sure you get home.
@TowTruckJoe1 I got into the situation simply because I signed the dotted line in 1993. And for some unknown reason, I keep singing it... over and over (with the reserves of course). Like I stated above.. all my training is from the Corps. I know there is a lot of good outside training out there, but my habits are pretty damn grounded right now and they've worked so far.
In any gun fight your number one concern is??..Your gun goes BANG! If you shoot dry, you now have a stoppage. Unless you want to get killed, your NUMBER ONE concern is getting that gun running...and that is it. Nothing else matters..or you are fucked. You are in a gun fight..not a foot race. Letting someone else clear your stoppages and manipulate your gun for you is idiotic. Learn to run your own gun. you are it's master. There won't be someone else to do it for you.
i wouldnt never rack the slide of my 23 guage unless it was pointed at the bad guy i was gonna shoot. when i load my guns i load them when its either me or the bad guy. any expert will tell you the same!

If you have the 590 on "safe" & make some hard movements that knock off the 590's safety selector, you are left without a shotgun that works. That's the main reason I like the 870 better.

So I had to cut the round in half ( down to the wadding in front of the bean bag) and self load them.
dislexic0311 7 months ago
@dislexic0311 Thank you for your real world experience. How do you feel a pump action would have preformed given the same conditions you were exposed to?
aaronscrewme 6 months ago

Mr2ndAmendment 3 days ago
@Mr2ndAmendment Very valid points. I agree w/ doing all you can to avoid killing. I'll give the intruder verbal commands through my bedroom door to go away or get out of my house and hopefully he will. However, I don't want to telegraph the fact I'm armed, for reasons I stated in my last comment. The bad guy doesn't know I have a gun, which is my biggest advantage & I want to maintain that. The only time I want him to know I'm armed is if he comes into bedroom & I must shoot.
AirForceAce3571 3 days ago
Just to throw in a tid-bit about the fact that you said the Mossberg 590 was the ONLY shotgun to pass the military specifications....
Actually, the Remington 870 was the only other shotgun to pass as well....only reason the military went with the Mossberg 590 instead, was really just a simple factor of cost. The 870, at the time, cost almost 200 US dollars more per unit. Now, why the military didn't just come out with the truth, remains to be a mystery.

BillyJackson570 9 months ago
Some one said it's a good idea to try it and see how it works. Ask your self. Do get into an accident with your car...just to see how it works. You train to avoid those situations. You train to stay alive. Let's look at all the special forces and swat teams. Do they train to reload while moving in a house. NO! that could earn you a bullet. Stop talking stupid. This is competition shooting and not tactical shooting. They are racing a clock not a combatant that wants you dead.

@neckarsulme Where does it say L.E. has to fight fare. I will always want to bring the bigger gun. Try walking in our shoes for 20-30 years.

@oeyesea while that point is true, its been proven that criminals actually practice with their weapons more than LE do, only a small percentage of LE train with their weapons enough to fire effectively, thats why whenever you see or hear about gunfights involving police or other LE, LE will usually be firing a lot more rounds as opposed to the "criminal"
infdecoy 1 month ago
@hammer555551 These two "druggies" you speak of, were wearing level III body armor from head to toe. They took a couple of muscle relaxants before the robbery to keep their heart rates down. I will concede that LAPD was "outgunned" due to their own sop restrictions of only carrying shotguns. That being said, both subjects were defeated. One by suicide after he ran out of AK47 ammo and the other in a hail of bullets by a, wait for it, SWAT team.
gunnymeyer 9 months ago
@gunnymeyer Yes, the stupid cops had to go to a local gun shop to get AR15s! LMAO!! Imagine big-shot LAPD going to a gun shop to get guns DURING a shoot-out!! The two robbers were not trying to get anybody, they were just spraying everybody, weren't they?? The robbers stayed there in the middle of the street and never ducked for cover or went after anybody. They stayed right there until some SWAT guys got there and shot them, one out in the open, one in front of a car. They were drugged.
hammer555551 9 months ago

Mossberg's are very well made shotguns and at a reasonable price. I still find 870's at a fairly more expensive price than the Mossbergs may it is because of the steel reciever on the Remington 870. I love the extra round that the Mossberg presents and I truely love the Mossberg spx model. The Mossberg has the bayonet lug which is additional bonus.

one thing you failed to mention is ATI stocks. i was looking at a M500 with a 'fixed' collapsable stock, and it was going for $200 more than the M590a1. you can get the same stocks through ATI for $70-$119. i saw the M590A1 when the M500 was being put back on the shelf. well, needless to say, like my last post i bought it. :) and for slugs, my cure all is Cabelas. the feedback is very helpfull in making my choices. and i love alomost all winchester ammo.

But, it would probably be w/the 930 SPX as it fires so quickly, absorbs recoil and the LPA sights..GREAT!
reeseman67 10 months ago
@MrBobsrevenge And I get a GREAT sight pic w/930 SPX's LPA 'Italian Stallion' sights and just as good, although not as easy to adjust for windage, with the 590A1's Mossberg GRS', they DID PIONEER the term 'Ghost Ring Sights'!!! That's gotta SUCK having to hunt w/nothing but slugs, maybe rifled w/sabot's... But, that would certainly test one's skill's! Was thinking about picking up a 'Slugster' 500 for that!

sunandmoon111 1 year ago
@sunandmoon111 Ammo on back = buddy stores. A friend can reload off you in a tactical stack situation. Also, the ammo on the back can be moved to the front (situation permitting) when the front quick access ammo is exhausted. In addition, seldom mentioned, but I have seen a double stack of metal ak-47magazines in a Russian ammo vest stop a .45 acp round in tests with ballistic gelatin. I wasn't there, it was a video so take it for what it's worth. Figure it can't hurt.

@TowTruckJoe1 Given the type of shotguns being discussed, loading on the move can be a necessity.
3OCALM1 1 year ago
@3OCALM1 Here's the deal..First off you are now trying to focus on two things at once. Consider yourself lucky if you know the terrain and landscape. If you don't...there is a pretty good chance your ass is going to do a lip stand...then you are fucked. Secondly...you could run straight into another combatant who is loaded up...and you are the target.while you are fumbling with ammo.. People trip on their own steps trying to read the mail at the same time. Now try it under duress.
TowTruckJoe1 1 year ago
@TowTruckJoe1. Do you think in a tactical situation you’re going to have time to stop and tell your advisory/enemy to stop shooting at you while stop and reload?
Bryansnod 1 year ago
@Bryansnod I don't pretend to know all the variables that may occur.. What you do in training is what you will do in real time. You will drop to the level of your training. this has been proven over and over...in real world gun fights. FACT! This is not combat shooting...this is trying to beat a clock. The most important thong in a gunfight is...your weapon goes bang. They shot dry. did not manage their ammo. always Reload behind cover. if no cover is available, Take a knee and reload.
TowTruckJoe1 1 year ago
@Bryansnod You actually make my point. This isn't real world training. A lot of bad ideas come from silly thoughts...that seem logical when you are training...but once the shit hits the fan...those ideas don't work so well. For instance...people that shoot on a controlled range. when they get a stoppage they stop, put their hand up and wait for someone else to clear their firearm. Guess what they do in a real gunfight when they get a stoppage? It's sad but true.
TowTruckJoe1 1 year ago
@TowTruckJoe1 Its not. Its actually a very good idea.
getemhi 1 year ago
@getemhi Sorry to disappoint you...but it isn't. Not one tact team or combat team...shoots dry...and then tries to run and reload. Who told you this?

@getemhi As I had said...I don't pretend to know all the variable that can happen in a gun fight. I'm glad it worked out for you. I don't know you r exact situation...and in that particular situation..it may have worked out for you. But..it doesn't always work. Are you LE, Military or other(civilian)??
TowTruckJoe1 1 year ago
@TowTruckJoe1 Military. USMC.
getemhi 1 year ago
@getemhi That's great. I love the marines. All my training comes from Max Joseph Retired marine on contract with the u.s. state department and the pentagon. Maybe you know him.
TowTruckJoe1 1 year ago
@TowTruckJoe1 No I don't know him. Actually, I have never heard of him. There are hundreds of retirees on contract with the pentagon. All of my training comes from the Corps itself. I have never really looked for any outside training. When I am out shooting on my own, I am just having fun, because I love to shoot, not training for combat.
getemhi 1 year ago
There is a point to me asking what you do. I am curious to how you ended up in such a situation.? But I do not ask to be nosey. I ask to ascertain what line of work you are in and if this situation may occur again...or if you are someone that just got caught in a situation where you had to defend yourself. All this leads to if you are trained or not and if so by who? If you are not trained...then I would like to direct you to some serious no shit training.Just want to make sure you get home.
TowTruckJoe1 1 year ago
@TowTruckJoe1 I got into the situation simply because I signed the dotted line in 1993. And for some unknown reason, I keep singing it... over and over (with the reserves of course). Like I stated above.. all my training is from the Corps. I know there is a lot of good outside training out there, but my habits are pretty damn grounded right now and they've worked so far.
getemhi 1 year ago
In any gun fight your number one concern is??..Your gun goes BANG! If you shoot dry, you now have a stoppage. Unless you want to get killed, your NUMBER ONE concern is getting that gun running...and that is it. Nothing else matters..or you are fucked. You are in a gun fight..not a foot race. Letting someone else clear your stoppages and manipulate your gun for you is idiotic. Learn to run your own gun. you are it's master. There won't be someone else to do it for you.
TowTruckJoe1 1 year ago
