f*** all the haters bro .great job brother . did you see you get done .no matter what it takes ,and f*** it bro if you wanna learn on the old ford then so be it and f*** bondo .lead that mother f***** ok will roll cage in it and then you some reading on top of the roll cage to support the roof are you people stupid out there are are you really pros
Not bad for a 1 day job. What's the hurry? You really should have done more research before you started. You ruined 2 cars that could have been saved by someone with skill and taste. That is NOT a good chop. The body man must have been PISSED for the 4 extra buckets of bondo he had to get for this job. Is there video of it done? Or did the roof cave in under the weight of the bondo before it got to the paint booth. XP
You should rely think about replacing the roof skin with an uncut out of another car ,that will save you a lot of bodywork . where you pieced it in the middle is not going to work out to good for bodywork.
Hope you didn't scrap the donor roof body cuz a guy could chop the windshield frame and build a carson style top and have 2 kick ass coupes :) I have a 47 Mercury 4 door I'll be working on myself (just got it) with a Camaro subframe. Not going to chop that tho. Just a mild early 60's style nosed and decked custom with a hand built one of kind grille, shaved door handles and chrome and i'm thinking 50 ford tail lights.
I love that people are still doing top chops, but why would you need more roof from another car, to make the roof you already have smaller? Ive done a 1947 Mercury Coupe for my first chop, and it was 4 cuts on the roof. 6 inch's out of the center, (going from side to side) and 1 inch front to rear. We hammer welded the roof back together, and no bondo. Good video, just a little upset by wasting the other car roof, but thats what they did back then. Cool
@ownTer way to totally fuck up a good car u fucking unquallified retards.why in the fuck would u cutt the mid of roof off?and any one who thinks they did a good job need pick up a mag and see how the pros do it cause it aint fucking done like that.complete idiots
that looks a heck of a lot better than my first chop job. i learned so much by my first one that the second one looked awsome. the best way to learn something is to dive in and try it. u guys did a great job for the first time. i would love to see your next chop. that 40 back window should look great too.
Honestly there were some things that didnt look too good but overall i think it was a good chop for the first try and would love to see the car finished. Also i dont think you need to gas and hammer weld it and i think they look ugly with the posts leaned back too me it mess' up the proportions. Good job though guys
you guys need to learn how to set up a welder and REALLY need to learn how to do a proper chop, way to many cuts and none of it was straight. you guys should also hate yourselfs for wasting that other body because of your stupidity.
i dont give a shit what anyone says , u did a good job, i give u a 10 plus, thank u for this show, now im going to chop my old 50 dodge truck, u showed me how to do it, thank u thank u ,,,thank u ,, thumbs up guys,
These guys were just learning and you have to give em credit for that. Only one way to learn and that's to do it. One thing that would have made this easier, is one more cut down the center of the roof. Makes for more welding, but it allows you to keep the natural lines of the top. Also, always cut to the center of the sides of the back glass.
Man,you guys really should have let someone show you how to chop it.You should never split a top like that. Now you are probably going to fill the top with BONDO!
WOW, watching your video broke my heart. Did you do ANY research first? How many cars did you cut up to get one "complete" car. I don't mean to be a jerk, but I have found that a CLEAN, STRAIGHT chop takes planing and careful lay-out. Please, it you have any respect for these cars do some research first if you ever do this again.

never saw anyone properly prep the metal for welding. Manufacturers must make welding machines that weld on rust.

Thanks,
we forgot to ask him what color it was going to be.. It's a friend's car.
Personally, we like flat black.
We think he's going to put a 350 Chevy engine in it.
