I actually don't like the series. I mean for its era it is maybe great but sometimes they rerun the show and i can't stop thinking how crappy and corny it is, but i guess maybe thats just the production or how cops act. The movie on the other hand is mostly BS i mean no cops drive around a ferrari or a BMW M6 or a Go-Fast Boat for that matter. And how the captain comes in with a M16 to the trailer park or how he is the sniper on the ship is also unrealistic.

i think michael mann is a genius on camera directing. i like the way he uses the camera in miami vice and the same in collaterall. its like you are part of the story. just great.

Michael Man took what he knew best of HIS Miami Vice, expanded an old plot, and produced the absolute, most intense miami vice he has ever created. Collin Farrel And Jamie Fox did an excelent job in acting their parts, and you could not have asked for a better cast and crew. Absolutley, hands down, the best Miami Vice, Mann has ever made.
Fina ass Naomie Harris stole the show as Trudy in this movie. This was such a underrated film. I grew up on the original show, but this movie was epic to me. ppl and i thought it was gonna be like bad boys 2 with lots of action and fast paced. I hated it but only to really appreciate it when i viewed it as crime/drama.
The movie was flawed but it still had its high points. The visuals were mind-blowing and the action set pieces were very well done. I just wish there was a bit better character interaction between Crockett and Tubbs (they barely look at each other the whole movie!). Anyway, that aside I rather enjoyed it, ESPECIALLY the last 30 mins or so (which ends with this song)..wow!

One of my all time favourite movies. The OST was perfect as well. Loved the dance scene between Sonny and Isabella with Yero (sp.?) observing via camera. One of the strongest movie scenes I've ever seen :)

Great movie, just as I anticipated. I mean Michael Mann is a great director and writer. I loved this movie and the vibe it gave. And the soundtrack gives the scene's a great vibe, every song that was chosen was attached to the right scene to make it feel all that more realistic. Just great overall.

Michael Mann is great.. Miami Vice is complete. It is over. Suck it up guys/gals with the last episode on TV. This was just to give you a taste of what others thought you may like. Mann knows, Foxx was not bourne when Miami Vice was created so Fuck him. The originals were it. No substitutions. period. Cheers.......

One of my all time favourite movies. The OST was perfect as well. Loved the dance scene between Sonny and Isabella with Yero (sp.?) observing via camera. One of the strongest movie scenes I've ever seen :)

I thought this movie sucked at 1st cuz i was expecting it to be like Bad Boys 1 & 2 but now I appreciated the gritty approach. I love my city but this movie hit the nail on its head with this one. Miami is the party capital but it has its darkside as well

When I first saw the Miami Vice movie on commercial when it first came out in 2006, unbeknownst to me I thought it was about crooked cops cuz i was only 11 and i knew nothing of it

miami vice soundtrack was one of the best soundtracks I've heard in years... the movie was great, i thought that the feel of the movie was about the same as the show.... especially the scene in the director's cut with the go fast boats at the beginning and then cutting to the club scene...

miami vice wasnt tht bad at all.i liked it as well.well the only michael mann movie i didnt like was public enemies even though it had a star cast .my favorite michael manns film are heat and collateral and insider.

@vmaxviking i wouldnt go that far, but I did really enjoy it. There was just something about it that was awesome. However i think if they made a series in that style i would actually cream my pants. The story wasnt rich enough for a movie imo.

Screw the tv series - awesome movie and great last shot to go with this song - it's what so many of micheal mann's movies are about in my opinion - professionalism.

@toddgreer I agree about Micheal Mann,s work, every movie or tv show he has done is about reality, a feel real sense. This movie was just as good as the tv show. Remember, two different time periods. The movie was as heavy as the show and the casting was fantastic.

i am far from gay and the soundtrack, mogwai and GONG LI especially drove me nuts in this movie Gong Li is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen on film. sexier, smarter than marilyn monroe, or anyone else you can think of jesus christ, and that shithead (yeah i'm jealous even drove my favorite car in the f'[ in movie ((ferrari)) lucky dipshit.) and the gofast boat seen HOLY HELL. lets go to cuba real quick. Mogwai, Moby, Brian Eno and michael mann rule Keep it up,best since heat.

I agree, Emil2812. I'm a big fan of MV but the soundtrack and visuals are what really do it for me. I also love the final shot in Heat with the Moby track but this is on a higher level imo.
