I respect any of the guys wrestling at that level at that age during those years. I had a good guy as a coach, but he didn't have much experience with wrestling. We were struggling to put together a program that wasn't strong since the 1960's! I only started to be able to score on the Div. 3, 2 and finally some D1 guys when I was in the air force going to open tourneys.. learning on the road. Sad when you learn late in life you had the material to hang but not the academics.
Prescott, Roselli, Bouzakis, Mariano, Banfi, Santana, Zito etc...I never did see the match where Bouzakis lost to Banfi. I combed youtube for many hours trying to find it over the past 5 or so years. I hope someone posts it someday. I heard Banfi had a great tourney...it was the only time Bouzakis got shut out in a HS match. I read that Troy did have several unfortunate injuries after being 27-1 his freshman year. And yes, many people still talk about that match, even after all these years
i dont have it dummy, just the 1st per. i'm trying to get everything i have off of vhs cuz they're too old. that match was over 22 yrs ago, lol i couldn't care less what u or your friends upstate think. out of all my videos, does it look like i'm a defensive wrestler or stall in matches? let me help u out, a cross body ride is meant to force a tilt or a stall call on bottom guy. i've done it in every single match and it's in every video, it did its job and guess what i have? the wall chart.
He will never post it for obvious reasons. It was a major screw job. I have no love for Bouzakis and Antonucci got the nod the next year clearly and deservedit but Banfi got a major gift. You won't find anyone, I mean anyone, who saw the match who thinks Banfi won it. Bouzakis went to Clemson and got redshirted and went 29-1 before a major neck injury. His body fell apart, blew a knee out too and had the second one scoped. Even with all that he pulled a 7th seed.
Yes please, someone find that match with Bouzakis. Been looking for details about that for many years and never forgot hearing Banfi beat him. Where did Bouzakis go? I didn't track which colleges got who like I should have back then since I was just a mediocre wrestler, but became much more interested with the right coaching later on..
i go to states this year and i meet long island people who still remember troy they remember the amount of shots he took which was in the 20's and yet he got hit for stalling and its funny i dont see any clips from troys match in this "highlight" reel
@TwStUnNa1 On second viewing I see that there is a very short clip of Bouzakis in the lighter blue singlet. I believe that is section nine and he changed more in appearance than the previous years.

last i know, he wrestled for clemson. he was the 7th seed at the ncaa's as a freshman and somewhere along the line had a career ending injury.
