  • Existing is pretty incredible

  • This reminds me of my Salvia experience... except; there was a set amount of decisions for each situation I was presented with, and each separate decision lead to a different out come. 'So that means'. I felt as though certain decisions brought me to a different parallel universe with an alternate set of situations, and a whole new set of decisions/outcomes, etc, and so on... I also so the meaning of life. Why we're here. What we are. It's outstanding. Find peace with God. That's my only wish.

  • @PaxtonTye

I also Saw*... funny how that message was exactly 500 characters if I spelled that word right.

  • very good for impulsive people... a whole philosophy devoted to the eternal ( yet temporary) decisions made from impulse, the same impulse that drive the universe.

  • A devoutly religious man, who was a disciple of Bayazid, said to him one day: 'I am surprised that anyone who accepts God should not attend the mosque for worship.'

Bayazid answered: 'I, on the other hand, am surprised that anyone who knows God can worship him and not lose his senses, rendering his ritual prayer invalid.'

    ---Bayazid Bistami

  • After hearing and watching videos on how, if I continue in sin and remain unrepented my soul will go to hell and burn for all eternity...I came here to be rejuvenated.

It calms me and allows me to realize I am glad to be alive, that every breath is a miracle, and that the only real sin in life is not appreciating what we have and enforcing misery on others...

  • I really like this vid. Thanks

  • Im gonna take samples from this talk, and make the most beautiful masterpiece of a song out of it! This deserves that much. And ill upload it here on youtube ofc.

  • @Crishhoff

Use every word he says... Don't just take pieces. For, words used out of context... well, you know where I'm going with this.

  • @PaxtonTye we'll see =P

  • Excellent video.

  • This is for me the most beautiful mind I've ever had the delight to come to know .... and thanks to modern recording technology, he became my friend long after his departure from this earth. Thank you Alan Watts - you live on in our hearts and minds - and always will.

  • This video resonates on the chords of truth. Thanks much for sharing.

  • @Vvrroommm the music is a production music sound clip downloaded from freeplaymusic, com, unfortunately I no longer have it on my computer so I don't have any more information to tell you about it.

  • @jcsides ok thanks for the reply maybe if you find it let me know thanks and good day nice video

  • "The more therefore you relinquish power......trust others.......the more powerful you become...."

I have terrible trust issues but I am realizing how true this statement is.

  • this predates the book "Blink" by about 30 years. Alan Watts was a genus.

of course, he would probably answer that by saying: 'thank you dear boy, but all that i am doing is simply telling you what you already know.'

  • @WKRPinCINN hahaha true true or even "but im only showing you what you are! You rascal you!"

  • @phuketsigel opinions are divided here ;) I really enjoy the music in these videos

  • "In reality there are no separate events. Life moves along like water, it's all connected to the source of the river is connected to the mouth and the ocean."

    — Alan Wilson Watts (The Essential Alan Watts)

  • aww just meditated, i cant wait to listen to this tommorow. just listened to it, not trying to relax, not trying to clear my mind, just sitting at the puter and it doesnt sound half stupid at all.

soothing voice and soothing music, 5/5

  • Music is too loud.

  • I CAN LISSEN TO ALAN WATTS FORE EVER :-)

  • @jetunknownactor i listen to him 8hrs a day, i'm a driver but it's not enough, man i never thought i could meet death one day and smile and say,i'm not going no where your just here to change me.

  • Amazing video thank u brother love bless u all always in all ways

  • Relace Hate with Love!

  • @GoldenMindPeace

    "Re-lace.." sounds pretty!

  • Your mind is your treasure and the univeres is forced to give you all them bad thoughts you love to think about but you don't know that is your real reality

  • no one can express in words of how much an inspiration this man is to me

  • @trainofaaron Same here....Peace man!

  • hard to concentrate on voice when the music is so loud

  • Why do you need music to these videos? It's so misleading... it feels like you want to get in trans and not to hear and see what he's actually pointing to.

  • @Lifayn Numerous folks on youtube post Alan Watts and their EGOs' compell them to

"NEW and Improve " Them....to add THEIR signature......Music , Art..,etc regrettably they are prolific throughout All forms of the media and this is WHY we live in the SHIT that is every where..T.V ,Movies..,Radio...even in Print

MOST of the perpetraitors have NEVER even had an Original Thought....To just LISTEN to this Genius w/o

distractions is ENOUGH of a challenge for our Simple Minds..:)

  • @CENTAURSARATOGA Personally, (in case you're curious about the subjective reasoning behind why I put pictures and music to the Alan Watts audio rather than making blanket arbitrary assumptions) I simply preferred it to the alternative- having a blank video with nothing but audio. I don't think I've 'improved' on Watts' message. That is not my intent. I only wish to share his teachings. I don't find the music distracting. If you do, then I'm sure you can find a version without the music.

  • Intentes! But beautifully well said.. Btw! The vids alone made it more awsome! :)

  • I only discovered Alan Watts today and already feel enlightened by his wisdom. Really lovely video thank you for uploading

  • Wow........................

  • Thank you so much.

  • This is incredible. Thank you.

  • i was up in frisco for the week and i stop by there university rather some place near there. and they have this big ass place for him there. ever one should go check it out

  • I like how he took something that some might view as cynical or depressing (the fact that our minds are done 100% naturally by the brain), and made it joyous and forgiving.

This guy is very pleasant to listen to.

  • @Jotto999 "the fact that our minds are done 100% naturally by the brain" - are you sure? Please explain. As well as how are you sure of that.

  • @Comcouveflor Modern neurology. Every single type of cognition and emotion can be attributed to activity in the brain. Even the activities people think have something metaphysical about them, like meditation, can be observed in your brain's activity.

Just as it's no longer correct to think a god made each of us directly (we now know we evolved naturally), it's also no longer correct that some parts of the mind aren't done by the brain. Your mind is completely natural, it's a fact.

  • @Jotto999 You didn't explain anything; nor did I manifest in search of such knowing. How can you be sure of that? What is to be sure of that? To hop in on a plausible system of abstractions (here by "some experts" conceived), which is what I urge folks to dig at - it is language that ought to be understood. Fashionable thinking, of whatever era defining, is linguistic. History unfolds toward the conception of an ever-more plausible mode of realityl: what is a model 'n the impact of saying it?

  • @Jotto999 *model of reality. Still impairing your vision, though yes, History unfolds toward an ever-more accurate one. On the other hand this process ends with the transcendence of their distortion on perception. All this to say that holding that such is a fact is but a belief. We cannot say reality; "in fact" the point is gotten in the certainty of the grandeur of its ineffability.

  • @Jotto999 A belief - 'n then just plain fun to mess with.

  • @Comcouveflor I don't think you made any sense there at all.

  • @Jotto999 If you feel like it, please elaborate on my lack of sense - or your narrow visionary capacity.

  • @Comcouveflor If you need me to repeat: every single type of emotion and cognition can be observed in the brain.

You made neurological findings sound like some whimsical hypothesis that don't have sufficient evidence going for them. They are very well established thanks to the last couple decades, and the fact that you'd disagree with that means you're ignorant.

The rest of your post was some garbled assertions that I wasn't being relativist enough. Overall you didn't make sense.

  • @Jotto999 And I asked you to explain the whole of neurology, not promote it. Nor did I dismiss it as a good hypothesis pushing the collective forth - I'm saying that, watching a Watts vid, I'd assume you'd be ahead of that, i.e., realize where all this model-building efforts end. That the raw data of experience is the means by which the most relevant of changes/leaps forward can be brought about.

  • @Jotto999 That so long as abstractions are strongly held as "being it!" one is preventing himself of seeing it. Then made the point that the realization of the ineffability of what we seek to model is intrinsic to waking up. I suggest you see me not as taking any position, it is the lack of position I'm most in congruence with (and thus impinging on you to take none is the whole of what I'm saying - deconditioning).

  • @Jotto999

"every single type of emotion"? How many different emotions are there? Is my anger the same as yours? Ho

  • @deuntjes Yes. The same general neural processes go on in your brain as would in mine, unless you think you have some interesting anomaly, in which I suggest bringing up to a neurologist.

  • @Jotto999

I'm guessing you are not familiar with philosophy of mind, so I will not begin a discussion about token-token identity theory. The problem lies in supposing that the same neural processes (That being the same observable results from a measurement) implies having the same emotion. (danger of circularity)

  • AWSOME

  • thought audio and visuals were perfect, very relaxing just what i needed, thanks

  • Awesome J brain nurturing...

  • loved this video !!!!!

  • to take this even further. We don't have to make any decisions. It all comes to us. We ultimately don't have any control over what happens to us because it is all the divine will unfolding so lets just relax and enjoy the ride!

  • Stunning message, ruined IMHO by the audio mixing inexperience of the uploader.

Tragically this is all too common on YouTube it's a very amateurish corner of the Internet.

    Nameste

    ♡♡♡

  • The music was too loud and detracted from the message. I'll never understand how music makes speaking better: it's kitsch.
