He makes it seem like he magically controls the forest. But in reality he has microphones and triggers set up around the three forest areas. which is why he knows where you are if you make too much noise

this game is designed for a Playstation controller. Shouldn't be played on an xbox controller. Triggers too misleading and no pressure sensitive face buttons.

@Raffael900me its been years since I played but I swear the alert phase carries over in to other areas if you make too much noise.After that you may die in the next stage depending on how much damage you take.also not every segement is like that.everyone is entitled to their own opinions though.I hated Lost Planet yet many said the game was good.It just didn't appeal to me but i will say its controls were good.MGS3 is a good game you just dislike it.That's how I see it.

@SNESLIVE Either b/c they didn't own the proper console to play the previous games and/or they don't know that the series has a continuing story arc. Other sequels have their own story apart from their predecessors.

Eh, those games don't have nearly as much of a detailed story as much as a MGS game which plays more like a movie/game hybrid type of thing. You can pretty much jump into any of the Hitman games and the story isn't all that critical to know. Great games, though. I want Phil to play through Blood Money so I can see wtf he does in certain situations.

@MrCognee I disagree if Lucas had the technology at the time he said he would have made the first 3 films first, otherwise he wouldn't have called the first star wars episode 4. All I'm saying is that sometimes it's cool to see the ending of a story and then go back and see it's origins, which is what Phil is doing with metal gear. However, i agree metal gear has a way more convoluted plot line and i did in fact play them chronologically.

That's not the same thing. That movie was actually released first and should be watched as such. The fact that he's played MGS 4 before MGS is a completely different situation. I don't care one way or another how he plays through games. I do my own thing and he does his.

@SNESLIVE because mgs4 was out for ps3 and not everyone wants to go back two generations of consoles ps1 (in my case) to play the first game. thats just how things happen sometimes. depending on how much improvement theres been playing the first one which would be relatively clunky compared to todays game might put you off of a series. i started with mgs4, but i had watched some vidoes of 1-3 before hand. i played mgs4 3 and a half times not skiping cut scenes and loved it

@SNESLIVE He has a point. Many people buy games because of Critical Acclaim. Look at the Half Life series. Many people have never played 1 or even 2, but have played the episodes. Why? Graphics, modern controls, modern gameplay. Same goes for SiN. More people have played the short episode than the original. Same goes for GoW. More people have played 3 than the others. And same goes for CoD, Team Fortress, Counter Strike, and Battefield. People respect the classics, but prefer modern versions.

@SNESLIVE Oh, and of course Unreal Tournament. Arguably UT1999 was one of the best, if not still on top, multiplayer games ever made. Unfortunately, all the other ones are shit in comparison. Yet people still buy them out of respect for the original. Oh, and Doom. Doom 3 was purchased more than the others. Erm, trying to think of other games. But I agree, it's unfortunate when players get involved late in series, but understandable. In the end, it's their gameplay that's hurt, not ours. So meh.
