SLS offers the best ride/handling compromise i've ever found on the E34, but if you are willing to sacrifice some ride quality, then the H&R/Koni combination do offer an improvment in handling. I'm now running a custom coilover setup in my E34 with Eibach springs and Koni adjustable shocks, the car is now very stiff but man does it handle!
Some say it's better to change -> weight , and Sls is only in the Back (its no special edition Nurburgring/cecotto/20 jahre.....) its a Standard M5 engine rebuilt by Racing Dynamics = 408Hp . 8.000,-€ only parts . I also removed the airPump (weight). I have my M5 now for 6 years , no better one ;) . Good luck with yourse
What is better the SLS or your H&R and Koni's ? Cus i'm thinking to disconnect the SLS as well . Tell me your experience .

SWEET i have a e34 m5 touring , i love my e34 m5 i just rebuilt the front end , H&R coils, poly every thing, every piece new, new gear box,
racing dynamics big sway bars, new 18x10 rear 18x8 front BBS wheels, new ps2 tires and i still get a shake at 65mph but the shake is gone at 100+
