They are known to get along quite well, and considering that Her Majesty places duty above all else, she would have stepped in when Wills and Kate broke up. Remember, that as the second in line to the throne, Prince William is required to obtain the permission of the Queen in order to marry.

This is not some small formality, but rather a responsibility that the Queen takes quite seriously. I agree with the Queen. The exhibition looked awful. It had a ghostly quality about it and it seems that the Queen was upset that the exhibition didn't even come close to capturing some of the magic of the wedding itself. She said that the exhibit was horrific because, in her eyes, it did not live up to the magic that Kate brought to it. That's no insult, but rather a compliment to Kate.

Interesting video. I don't think there is a problem between Kate and the Queen. Looks to me like they are quite comfortable and informal with each other, which would suggest that they get along just fine and are open with each other. I'd like to see a few videos of the Queen and Camilla to see if THEY really get along...lol

I honestly don't the Queen dislike Kate, but they probably will never have the type of close relationship that she shares with Sophie, Although Kate has been very discreet about her relationship with William over the years, I that the royal family thinks of her as a ambitions social climber. I also think that William was pushed by many people including his family to either marry her or break it off for good. Their long courtship was becoming a media circus and Kate was almost 30.

@rositasoyyo Well... Given the fact Kate is living on the coast of Wales while the rest of the royal family is living in London. That might be a sign that they just want to keep her out of way and dont want to deal with her and the queen only met Kate for the first time in 2008 at a wedding. In the ten years she known/dated William she and the queen have barely spoken. You say the queen likes Kate but you dont say why? What makes you think she Likes her?

I think it's interesting that you point out Kate Middleton's lack of work ethic (which seem to have been forgotten as Kate Middleton is now often referred to as "the modern princess", when in actuality, she has never been the modern woman, having never really worked, and was previously known as Waity Katy, basically waiting to enter the royal family), paired with William's insistence in excusing Kate for 2 years from royal obligations. The queen has never taken any excuse to shirk her duties

Considering the public's high opinion of Kate, it's strange of the queen to be so vocal and public about her dislike of a display connected with Kate. Well at the end of the day, I suppose as in all other instances, time will tell. Someday the queen will die, and Charles will die and William will become king. The most important thing is will Kate be a good fit within the RF, will she be a good queen? We will never know, until it happens. I think every family has its squabbles, its little jabs here and there. Many a family simply tolerates its in-laws because they have to. The future holds all!

HM doesn't like Kate, but William chose to marry her, so now she's stuck with her as a granddaughter-in-law. The RF must be such a joke to the aristo families. First they treated Diana like crap even though she came from a good family, had a strong work ethic, always did charity work, and (at first) only said good things about her husband their heir. Now they let a crotch-shot girl who was known at school for mooning the boys in as future queen? Nice. The Queen Mum must be rolling in her grave.

i completely agree! I dont think the Queen is that fond of Kate Middleton one little bit because i believe she thinks of her as 'an outsider' - not really part of the family but to be tolerated as long as she keeps in check. Sorry, what are the exchange of words at 1:37? another great video :)
