Anybody who played Final Fantasy 8 or 9, is there a song in either by Uematsu that sounds exactly like this, or at least keeps this melody? So familiar
this song actually takes me to a foreign land. I felt Spain- the sun, the rich reds and blacks of food and culture... Davis knows exactly how to paint a picture
Awesome I really miss Miles if this is not some of the best music ever period I dont know then thanks servantofthefemale its like you are there in spain Miles playing Gil's arrngements beautiful
@Greenless001 You don't like Kind of Blue. Check it out. Also Porgy and Bess, done as well with Gil Evans. I'm not big on the fusion stuff. I think rock guys like the Doors and the Byrds did fusion better than the jazz guys. Talent rock guys were reaching upward in their fusion. Jazz goes were reaching down. They probably had noble intentions but...
One of my favorite Miles tunes. I've always thought that if I were ever being marched through the desert to my death this is the song I would want to hear. It speaks to the small failures and triumphs in life, but at the same time rings back to the drudgery of existence.
A friend from work wore out this album three times (when it was out on cassette) from listening to it -that's how much he loves it. I can understand why - what a fantastic musician! R.I.P. Mr. Davis
Sketches of Spain truly is one of the greatest albums of all time. great music , beautifully arranged & a wonderful performance by Miles Davis ----oooooooooh yes
"Information is not knowledge. Knowledge is not wisdom. Wisdom is not truth. Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not love. Love is not music. Music is THE BEST..." -Frank Zappa
Indeed, i myself have never really considered any of those things to be one another. However, if information is not knowledge, what would you call one who is informed? :)

'Where is the wisdom lost in knowledge, where is the knowledge lost in information ?'
TS Eliot
Could now add where is the information lost in data.
Lets face it , we are lost. But there is still music.

@Jlipnicki I think it all started going down hill when AT&T began charging for information calls. They should have known it was unwise

@Zeld1122 This Zappa fellow seems to be quite opinionated, in at least one instance blatantly contradicting John Keats

@Zeld1122 The 1st line is actually a quote from Albert Einstein, Although Zappa amended it, brilliantly I might add...
