how is the battle system good? you just spam AOE attacks and the enemies die in 1-2 hits, the dungeons are just corridors and big rooms...wheres the challenge? plus the environments have all been done before yet it, a desert planet, jungle panet metropolis planet etc etc the story is generic and boring, a bored guy runs off with rag tag bounty hunters and end up saving the world..wow, theres a love interest, a missing father, an evil company, etc etc, really every cliche is here.

but not all of it the planets and battle system are different from other games.

you need to rethink ur view on games and try not to focus on the similarities just take it as a new game and u will like most of the games u play..

I'm still playing this game and i have had it since February of 2007. This is by far one of the best games i have ever played for the PS2. Most of the magazines i read gave it a near-perfect score, and i must agree with them. Of all the big-name games i have played for the ps2 (The Final Fantasies, Resident Evils, Metal Gear Solids, Silent Hills, Onimushas, Grand Theft Autos, Kingdom Hearts, Ace Combats, and MUCH more) i have to say Rogue Galaxy is EASILY among that list. @okamimiyazaki yeah, the battle system takes a little getting used to. and you have to have alot of recovery items if you dont want to get owned- but the best thing i loved about this game besides how original and awesome it is are the burning strikes. burning strikes are the best use of command prompts i'ved ever seen in a game. even better than god of war- which is very overrated

Remember this - NOTHING is complicated..if there is a need 4 a key, its always somewhere nearby in the same room, they can't make you look all over cuz they don't want you confused, they want you to beat the game lol, its in the same last room,just cross the middle door under the plane, look on your left,its in a corner well hidden.

The only thing I had a little trouble with was the factory. I had no idea how to make things with all those connectors and power supply chords. You really have to read the directions and follow the examples a ton before you actually get the hang of it! Overall though, one of the best rpgs I've ever played!

the battle is very similar. personally i prefer rogue galaxy's battle system. as for the gameplay, it is pretty much the same. the only main difference would be that rogue galaxy has huge maps and dungeons. meaning that you will do a lot of exploring. excellent game with an insane amount of sidequests. I'm on 60 hours and only halfway through the story and 1/5 through the sidequests.

this is a disappointing game.

it started out very strong and interesting. but as u go pass the half through the game the game sort of just dies off. overall not bad though. however the dungeons are seriously long and repetitive. The battles also get boring after awhile.
