  • I stand corrected, I obviously need to go buy an industrial sharpie and sniff the F out of it to get as high as I can so I can reach this level of illusion magic

  • This is amazing, I need to go to the store and buy a 10 gallon jug of icecream so I can be a fat shut in cuz theres obviously more to his talent than that magical witch pencil hes using O.O

  • those magnum markers are brutal but they are useful for huge black expanses in a sketch or prelim.

  • @mariosawyer: Boooooo! Lol :P

  • I really want to shake his hand someday. He is a monster, and seems to be a gentle person. I am a really "Hughe" fan.

  • BAMF!

  • i killed a man.... with my 44.Magnum

  • Damn, I love this guy... he's amazing. I'd could die if I met him in person, my life would be complete haha xD

  • @MissComix yeah I know how you feel, I can die after I fuck Scarlett Johansen ^^ (w/c means I wont be dying soon) sigh ^o^

  • @Kaisertoji You mean you won´t die at all.

  • I got a 44 magnum sharpie. I understand why Adam "Art" Hughes said "I was the most stoned out kid of 1974". The marker smells like paint thinner but the industrial type.

  • Man, you´re the greatest...

  • this man is a wonder to watch in person. absolutly fantastic!

  • well he didnt do much in this part

  • Those Magnum 44 are indeed strong. The scent lasts for years on paper, lol.

  • Damn

  • I also noticed Adam has a very good knowledge of anatomy!

  • almost in any style you need to have a very good knowledge of human anatomy so that you can modified it as you wish

  • Adam is doing more realistic type of sets. It's like Alex Ross in a way.

I never really liked Jim Lee, and that modern look of the comics, that's more common the these days. It's better this way, vivid and realistic!

  • Yes. Modern style has some great dynamics that I´ve adopted for the sketch and then I add more realistic features on top. Adam is an amazing artist BTW. :D

  • man y is it every artist gts compared to jim lee he has a totally different style, plus i think he bettet at drawing girls, aaaaaaaaaaaand jm lee usually just draws the top half of the body at conventions

  • adam hughes at a comic con talking about getting high

  • Hey I got a Thermo-Nuclear eraser too 8D...

  • haha he's like the jack black of comics

  • they both amaze me how they can do the most dynamic shit on the spot. i would throw james jean into the mix for just super talented without having to try very hard

  • its not a race!

  • I've seen people compare Hughes to Lee on these boards, and I'll say both are extremely talented, however I believe Lee could've finished this sketch in about 5-10 mins. tops. Just an opinion

  • You can't compare the two. Hughes is more realistic. Not to say he is better just very different.

  • True, which is what I meant when I said both are extremely talented. However I feel Lee, in his own unique style, could've finished the sketch quicker. I don't think I was comparing the two, just stating an opinion. You don't have to agree.

  • fighting with the paper, thats the real truth, thanks adam.

I agree with everything he says, the strenght of the drawing can not be transfered if you use a light box, but I use blue pencils because I like how they feel, blame me..:P

  • Why does he keep on erasing the sketch?

  • Listen to what AH says about it in the vid, man...

  • basically, what a sketchist/sketch artist will do is to draw the basic structure of what they want to draw... however, they don't want to erase the thing completely, so they use a clay eraser, which is perfect for this kind of art:D

btw, im a sketch artist also, so yeah... that's how i know:D

man, this guy is awesome!!! :D

  • Awesome n funny! "..one of the good kind.." thanx again!

  • adam hughes... simplemente el mejor

  • hahaha good stuff

  • Adam Hughes = Coolest person EVAR

  • Cool to see the man in action.
