This film is a piece of shit americans cant remake classic british films well the same thing happened when they remade "the wicker man" it just does not work and now apparantly there is to be a american remake of "straw dogs" which will no doubt be shit.
"If you don't take care of business, the business will take care of you." I saw this movie in the theater and picked up the DVD right when it came out. I really don't see why so many people crap on this movie. I enjoy the '71 original for what it is, but Stallone's portrayal of Carter is actually closer to the version in the Ted Lewis novel, IMHO.
That's what I said. I thought this version kicked ass and the camera work was great.
I like how they kinda do the repetitive thing every once in a while or they speed something up. I have a music vid with the car chase from this movie in it.
@rinocosta: As I said before, Caine did an excellent job in the '71 version of the film. But, IMO, Stallone's portrayal is much closer to Lewis' original take on the character.
your info box for the decription is wrong- he's chasing this guy down and beating the crap out of him because he owes Fletcher (Carters boss) dough.- he's not chasing him for info on his brother this is Vegas his brother was killed in Seattle - he's just tallin to Connie about his brother this scrub is just some welcher
Best rip ever seen!

I'm in total agreement w/you there, redplague. Did you upload a music vid w/the car chase on youtube?
TheLegendfamily 2 years ago
Yep. It's on my channel with scenes from other movies on there too. It's called 'Is you is' (Exciting Car Chases).

Thanx for the info, redplague, I'm on it like Carter after a deadbeat.

Michael Caine is Michael Caine. There is simply no comparison, you have to admit that!!!!

Did you ever read the Lewis novel, mate? That's what I'm talking about; I'm not commenting on Caine's acting ability compared 2 Stallone's.

My favorite quote from this movie:
'Nobody likes the 'list' guy.'
Right after he knocked that dude on his butt...I think the remake totally kicked ass!

with better writing, the movie could've been better. it should've been a bit more grim and seedier.
