Narrator: Still in 1949, the management of the most prestigious American Opera Theater MET invites the rising star to perform on its stage. This proposal meets the resistance of the cold war knights. The argument is: Cristoff is not welcome here, since he's Bulgarian citizen and stays on good terms with Russia. So, he was not allowed to enter USA... Later on, the American press admits: its a shame, that New York does not yet accept with honors the greatest bass, actor & singer of our times.
