I was dying to see TSO since 1998, and saw them in Saskatoon on Nov 4. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed, but I was completely blown away simply by this opener. Didn't realize their show would like like that =)
that was a fucking amazing concert! Im definately going back next year. I made a couple audio recordings on my phone but they turned out like crap. I should have brought my MP3 player.
Due to the watchful security, I could only guess at what I was aiming for and hope for the best. Had I been able to hold the camera at eye level, that rail wouldn't have been in the shot.
Unfortunately, I ran out of memory before Wizards in Winter and I didn't know it because I couldn't look at my screen. LOL
Actually, I was 2nd row on the floor right up on the band and it was amazing (as per usual). Opening with a Nightcastle song was an interesting choice and "Prelude To Madness" was the highlight of the evening (for me).
Nooway!!! I was in row nine, it was amazing! it made the lights so much cooler! Everything was going on all around you, and the lasers were all abve you! Don't diss the floor lol!
I disagree. While different than their usual fare, I thought it was a great way to open the concert. An epic & almost Carmina-Burana-esque beginning, but slowly fading away at the end. Definitely reminiscent of the mood of their Beethoven CD, which I really enjoyed.
Also, it's definitely new stuff from their Night Castle CD, which makes me happy! :D
Personally, I think TSO should have opened with a song people actually know. I know they switched to March Of Kings (yet again), but that didn't really help. I didn't think March Of Kings was a good song to open with either. I was always fond of Boughs Of Holly as the opener. It gets people more in the Christmas spirit than any other song.
I'll agree it was an awkward transition from the new song to March of the Kings. I think it would've worked better had they just given the new song a proper ending.
Still, I don't think it was a bad choice for an opener. We'll just have to agree to disagree. :)
Man, the showguns in the front are awesome.

Totally not how it appears. I can't imagine the show from the higher levels. I was in row 14 and it was absolutely amazing.

Well I was in section 125, row 2, and it was amazing, but i guess floor wouldn't be that bad.
Either way it was the most amazing concert ever.
