And "false witness" can easily be interpreted to be a prohibition against perjury and perjury alone.

If we love Him, we want to please Him, & we do that by obeying His commandments. If we do not take our relationship with the Lord seriously, then we will take advantage of His grace as an excuse to disobey, pleasing ourselves rather than Him. Romans 6:1: Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin. The heart that follows closely after Jesus wants to be in that special place of blessing that comes from knowing and doing Gods will first and foremost.

A catholic, and baptist , a muslem and an atheist go to a bar . It is asked if lying is wrong.They all agree that it is wrong. When asked why, the catolic says " because the mother church says so", the baptist says " because the bible says so', the muslem says " because the qu'ran says so". The atheist says " because it causes suffering,is bad for society as a whole and makes me sick to even think about it'. The others agrre that these are the reasons God/church/Allah also think rape is bad

His formulation is still a bit misleading. The bible also says why. He should be more precisely.
