  • I love Paul Bragg and I love Patricia Bragg. If I had their information when I was 14 I would never have suffered the next fifteen years from low body esteem, overweight, non-libido and lack of expression. Processed tofu, cooked oils, junk and white flour have NO place in the Vegan diet. They poison body and psyche. Its so sad that Paul Bragg died of a heart attack from meat addiction!

  • I just read The Miracle of Fasting. It has some interesting ideas and I'm using the Bragg brand of Apple Cider Vinegar to see how that works out. But let's not delude ourselves as he seemed to be doing when he talked about living even to 900 because the bible says people once lived that long. It is obvious even from the photos in his books that he was aging. He certainly does not look young in this video, He looks fit, but old.

If he thought he was not aging, then he was delusional.

  • He reminds me of Lloyd Bridges' character on Seinfeld.

    "It's go time!"

  • Awesome Video. I'm reading The Miracle of Fasting right now. I'm a Chronic OverEater - - and though the food I OverEat is SuperDankNourishing GodFood, it has had a profoundly positive effect on me to practice only eating when I'm actually hungry. I look forward to the Bennies of Fasting regularly.

  • 81, 95, fake, or real. To die because of a surfing accident at either one of those ages is amazing.

Jack Lalane lived to 96. Yes he died like everyone else did. But look at the quality of their lives. I'd rather die a healthy 85 than a sick 90. But I plan to live to 120.

  • I was an avid follower of Bragg when I was young. Now I suspect he was a pathological liar, especialy about his age

  • Paul C. Bragg's health nutrition information and fasting program has given me the best results for on going health problems that my doctors could not resolve. I bought his book "The Miracle of Fasting" and over a few months worked my way up to a 7 day fast that felt great physically and mentally while I was doing it, left me feeling great after it, and stoped my ongoing medical problems that the doctors kept giving me antibiotics and congestion medicines for. Bragg is the best!

  • @barrybrookens Danke dir für deine Erfahrungen. Thank you very much for your positive comment and experiences with Paul Bragg.

  • @barrybrookens he was a liar, all his books say he made it to 95 when he made it to 81. huge difference. what a scam

  • Google

  • From 4:09, where he speaks about age is just a measurement seriously opened my eyes! This man made an amazing point! I cant wait to use this on the elderly I hope to help! <3

  • Shame not enough people listened to him.

  • I always love Bragg's health creations. Thx for sharing.

  • @d Patricia Bragg: Wife of PB's son Robert, '54-'56. LA Times mentions Robert began a lawsuit against his father & ex-wife: Presumably for alienation of affection. It wasn't carried out. No record's available, but what else does a son sue wife & father for? This film was made in '70: Bragg was 75. He's fit & healthy, but looks his age. Much of PB's health info is valid, (tho I wouldn't use Calves liver as a regular part of the diet, as he did), but his bio's pure carny fiction.

  • Truly Inspirational. Beautiful spirit. God-consciousness.

  • Great man!

  • I like that he said "age is just a measure"

  • In fact he died at the age of 95 not 81 whilst surfing

  • Can you tell me where you got this video, and if you know what year it was made? Thanks.

  • @mv333 I´ve got the video from Patricia Bragg and posted here with her later personal permission.

It was made approximately in 1970, but I am not sure.

  • Mr. Bragg is simply amazing ! Amazing human being !

  • He was right about absolutely everything...

  • @dncviorel The contrary is true, he is totally conscious about what he is telling to you. Better you listen to him! :-)

  • @thore0007 I still think he's drunk.I prefere Jack Lalanne. He seems to be that exemple of the life style we need desperately. That man I do respect.I respect also this one, but I can't listen to what he has to say, he is talking to slowly and that is annoying.

  • @dncviorel YOU DRUNK STUPID!

  • hahaha ITS LIVE FOOD PAUL!!! :-) hehe way to go . you were a great teacher!

  • The PB Wikipedia page now has a link to the 1975 "People Magazine" article on Mr. Bragg. (Sonny Bono was on the cover).

  • @KFCAOK

  • I was given a Bragg book at 19. Today at 44 I realize he was right and begining to adopt his teachings

  • Hi --

Danogdon do you have sources for these statements?

  • paul bragg was awesome. jack lalane is a real trooper too. he's like 95, and works out like a maniac, eats tons of raw foods, and juices alot. that the way to do it.

  • BTW, the ONLY mention of Bragg's (alleged) accident in Hawaii was his 12/11/76 obit in The Honolulu Advertiser, which read: "In July, Mr. Bragg, a Honolulu resident, was pulled unconcious from the water off Ft. DeRussey and survived after being given cardio-pulmonary massage by a nurse at the scene". Problem is that there was no corresponding newspaper story of this newsworthy event from when it (allegedly) occured. The Hawaii State Library found nothing tho it maintains a clipping file on PB.

  • so was paul bragg 81 years when he died? first ive heard of him, so im interested to learn more. was it him who coined the phrase / you r what you eat?

  • After reading PB's "Health Food Cookbook & Menus" (Seventh Edition, 1970), I'm rather astounded that he would be considered a "nutritionist". The number of his recipes calling for butter or vegetable shortening (Crisco?), whipping cream, whole eggs, half & half, is, well, numerous. There is also no ACV called for in ANY recipes...only always "lemon juice"...even in salad dressings Wonder when "The Miracle" came along? After he died?.

  • i love paul bragg

  • According to the Dade-Miami Medical Examiner's public records, Paul Bragg's cause of death was "Ventricular Tachycardia and Fibrillation due to Coronary Occulsion. There's no ? Mr. Bragg died of a heart attack in Florida on 12/7/1976. Whether any swimming/surfing accident preceded/caused his eventual death, however, is questionable.

  • Ok. What about Jack Lalanne?

  • Hi - a few years back I chatted to the lady - a relative I believe - who mages Norman Walkers estate. She told me that he died a 103.

  • You need better sources. Norman W. Walker's gravestone in the old Cottonwood Cemetery in Arizona reads" 1886 - 1985. I believe that's 99 years. If you search on-line, there's even a photo of it.

  • Now, Now, Dano.

To correct you, Norman W. Walker was 99 years old when he died. To my knowledge, he only "played coy" with his age once he got into the health field. After his death, his "followers" did the rest. You are mostly correct about Mr. Bragg

  • Wow! I'm so amazed at seeing this! - I followed this man's books from when I was about 17...I'm now 52 and here he is on a thing called YouTube!!! - A voice from the grave! - albeit a very powerful voice...from a very different time! Aaah technology! Thankyou to whoever posted this!

  • Hi, Wow! Thanks for the posting! I 1st heard of Arnold Ehret in 1976. Bragg came much later. I''m dismayed at reading the comments on this video. Perhaps people don't understand, Mr. Bragg is coming from a place very much beyond the average viewer. I'd recommend that people read his book - Miracle of Fasting - I think it spells out his philosophy best, then decide if they want to try it. I think that only after they have tried it/experienced it, are they qualified to offer opinions!

  • @frankenstein909 Thank xou very much for your comment dear frankenstein! :-) It is so true: unless you experienced these lessons from Paul, you can´t take part truthfully in this discussions. I also read Prof. Arnold Ehret 100 times and Paul Bragg Books 100 times and more often and live by his principles. Greetings from germanygoesraw de Hamburg take a look at my facebook profile

  • Bottom line guys: A man with a good way of living physically. But a liar who told stories and sold Snake Oil to get paid. Sounds about right eh? He had a great view on physical fitness, but he was just out for a buck. Cant blame him. Just the dumb people who act like they are related to him and get pissed off on the internet cuz some other dumbass says their hero is a sham. Bragg wopuld be proud of you all sitting on your fat asses and arguing over the internet. Go for a jog. The "j" is silent.

  • Hello Everyone

I bought the book "The miracle of fasting" about 5 years ago and believed everything. I guess my gullibility was the fact that here, finally, was a man who had beaten the odds and had found a simple, uncomplicated way of life. I even called Bragg headquarters in Ca. and the lady there said that he died in a surfing accident at the age of like 94?

It saddens me to hear the other things that are being said about his propensity to play loose with the facts.

  • Bottom line, the fact remains that Mr. Bragg lied about so much. Most--if not all-- the "anecdotes" in his books were made up out of nothing, from learning about the "miracle of ACV" at his "farmer" father's knee, to trudging along with Ghandi from village to village, to "sister Louise", who under his dietary tutelage went from something the cat dragged in to Belle of the Virginia Ball. Not even going into his real age or the T.B. B.S. . PB was on another planet where truth was concerned.

  • KFCAOK,

please could you any of your statements bring some background into it , otherwise it sounds if as you want only putting shit over somebody great humanitarian to whom you seem not estimate in any way. What had Paul Bragg done to you or your family that you are so strange to him? Please make your statement on proven fundamental knowledge. Why , e.g. do you think it hasn´t been true, that he got to know Mahatma Ghandi personally and what he has done for his underweighing sister?

  • The lack of "sister Louise" is clear in Paul Bragg's Last Will & Testament dated 1/11/1958, which was probated in Riverside County California Superior Court in 1977 (Case No. 39047), wherein he names former wives, his three children (Neva, Lorraine & Robert) & BOTH his siblings---living brother (John Harrison Bragg) & deceased brother (James Elton Bragg) and their children in number.

I'm sure Thore would like to believe "sister Louise" & "her children" just completely slipped PB's mind.

  • The actual wording of Paul Bragg's Will re his siblings:

IV...."that neither my parents are living and I have one living brother, John Harrison Bragg, who now has two children, and a nephew, Peter Bragg, son of my deceased brother, James Elton Bragg;"...(end of sibling story).

(James Elton Bragg died in New York State in 1954; John Harrison Bragg died in California a few years before Paul).

  • See an "occupational disconnect" here?

"My father was a splendid farmer and many times I would watch him add AVC to the feed and water of ailing animals...." (Bragg's Miracle of ACV" book). VS.

"Paul C. Bragg of Washington, amateur wrestler, passing through Indianapolis...." Bragg's father is R.E. Bragg, formerly a printer in Indianapolis, now connected with the government printing office at Washington. His brother, Elton Bragg, is a member of the,,,.." (Indianapolis Star, 9/13/1913)

  • You are welcome!

    Thanks for your nice comment.

very one who knows more of Paul C. Bragg Live personally. His connection to Muhammad Ali and Clint Eastwood and Jack Lalanne, please don´t hesitate to write something about these issues here! Thanks from Thore Gronemeier, Germany

  • Dont know of any "live" connection between Paul Bragg & "MA". but the Eastwood connection was through Patricia's brother, Harry Pendleton Jr., who was a teenage buddy of Clint back in Piedmont, CA. In fact, Clint served as Best Man at Harry's first wedding in 1958, where the local newspaper wedding coverage referred to him as "Clinton Eastwood, Jr. of Hollywood".

Is that what you wanted to know?

  • Thanks a lot for your rapidly comment on my question, KFCAOK !

  • Great information for me to others for healthy living.

    Thank you,

  • Well, back to Mr. Bragg...

  • I've searched for Bragg's books at the Library of Congress' online catalog, and his date of birth there is stated as 1895, not 1881. WTF?

  • Perhaps if you first did some basic "due diligence" on your health gurus, you wouldn't be so gullible.

  • BTW, Anthony Pignataro, editor of "MauiTime", a print & on-line Hawaii newspaper, wrote an investigative (rather than "puff") piece on The Braggs in February of this year, entitled "In The Name Of The Father". You can easily access it on-line. All 3 parts are very interesting.

    Just saying...

  • YOu know Anthony Robbins? He himself said he had nothing then an highschool examen! It doesn´t matter, if someone has an PHD or NHD or anything else title. IMPORTANT is THE MESSAGE! Listen to those, who can help you! If you know someone has an Doctor title and he tell you TAKE that chemical pill, it is sure and save! Would you swallow it? Higher your awareness by following the path of your own truth! You will find your way to better health! Good Bye and good luck! :-)

  • Exactly - Tony Robbins rocks, voted one of the top 10 businessmen of all time. No education whatsoever (well from School, college, Uni that is)

  • So exactly who were the "other 9" businessmen on this (alleged) list & "who: voted? I can find nothing on Google about this. Forbes, the business magazine, had a poll in 2004 on the Ten Most Influential Businessmen of All Time, but to be on it, you had to be dead.

    So do tell us...

Besides Robbins at least dossn't lie about "advanced degrees" as "Dr" .Paul Bragg did.

  • Why are you being such a Prick!! If you actually did some research you'd find the following on the first page of his site: "Robbins has been honored by Accenture as one of the Top 50 Business Intellectuals in the World;

  • Also:- " by Harvard Business Press as one of the Top 200 Business Gurus; by American Express as one of the Top Six Business Leaders in the World to coach its entrepreneurial clients; by Forbes as a Top 100 Celebrity; by Justice Byron White as one of the worlds Outstanding Humanitarians; and by the International Chamber of Commerce as one of the top 10 Outstanding People of World.

I'm sorry I got it wrong, in the top 6 in the world, not 10!

  • sorry still don't see anyplace there where Robbins was voted "one of the top 10 businessmen OF ALL TIME"....your exact words, not mine. Please try to be more precise.

  • Well, a cock like you wouldn't find it even if it was handed to you on a plate. Bet your some negative loner without a girl. Prob fat too haha

  • I´m glad to see that so many visitors have clicked on this video of the famous Dr. Paul C. Bragg. I didn´t know that he is still so well known. I got to know him in 1990 by reading his book "Das Wunder des Fastens" or in english " The miracle of fasting" He made me going my way of healthy Life! The real american way of Life, a healthy life which honors nature and her laws of living! Greetings from Thore from Hamburg, Germany, to all friends of Paul Bragg and his principles!

  • While you're here Thore. please tell us exactly which institute of learning PB received his doctorate from? You know that Dr./PhD stuff. Or is that just another Bragg "biographical fiction" as another poster so well put it?

My info & sources tell me that Mr. Bragg never went beyond high school. Nothing wrong with that, but....

  • Watch a trailer on a new film about natural health foodmatters[dot]tv

  • I agree, If you are a long term raw foodists you will probably react much harder to drugs, anesthesia and surgery than an ordinary person.

  • Oh Please. That "alleged" serious surfing/swiming injury to Paul Bragg in Hawaii preceding his stroke/heart attack death in Miami is such a B.S.story I can't believe anybody would fall for it. It WAS particularly unfortunate that Bragg died in the midst of a well-publicized health & fitness convention though. Not a good move.

However if anyone would like to supply "evidence"...

  • Correction it was Miami, not California.

This is why David Wolfe carries a card in his wallet with the message that he's allergic to all drugs and medications. He never wants anything given to him in case of sickness or emergency. He threatens to sue them if they do. They have to contact his brother ....

David suspects many healthy people must have died this way. (this wouldn't surprise me since doctor interference is now no 3 on the list of causes of death. after heart disease and cancer).

  • Paul had a severer surfing accident. That wasn't how he died though. Water came in his longs. This caused an infection. Months later Paul was in California. The different climate made the infection get really bad. He collapsed. Patricia thought he had a heart attack and called 911. The doctors came and gave Paul a shot to get his heart working again. Except, this shot killed Paul. Since Paul was so clean. the injection was much to strong for him. And anyway, his heart hadn't stopped beating.

  • Hello TheBestOfRawFood,

thank you very much for this interesting information about Paul C. Bragg untimely death!

    Thore

  • thankyou for the information,i though perhaps it was the medical help that killed him.

  • lol

  • listen to him. he speaks about stuff that no one knew about back then. i mean sodium nitrate. no one knew back then. and cold cuts. preservatives, additives. people thought they were good for you!!! he spoke about nutrition before anyone did. jack lalanne who is 94 today learned from him! now did he lie about his age? no one really knows. there are two sides to the story. if you look at lalannes time line it makes sense he was born in 1881. bragg was a walking encyclopedia well bef it was chic

  • What has Jack LaLanne's "timeline" got to do with PB's age?

Jack has said his life changed when he first met Paul Bragg at age 15 a lecture in Oakland, CA in 1929. Jack went on to open a health club in Oakland, CA in 1936 when he was 21.

Paul Bragg was born on February 6, 1895. So you're saying that nobody born in 1895 & making a health lecture tour at age 34 could possibly be doing that, while Jack LaLanne could open a health club at the mere age of 21??

  • PB had much good health info, but there aren't "two sides to the story" of Bragg's age: Every legal document of Bragg's life lists an 1895 birth date: Social Security, Army, Employment & Census records are just a few of them. The only possible contridictor is his so-called "daughter", Patricia, an ex-dughter-in-law, who divorced one of Bragg's sons in 1955.

  • To clarify, Bragg only had ONE son (to whom Patricia was once married & divorced) and two daughters...all from his first marriage at age 20. He married again at age 35; marriage was apparently short with no children.

  • Thanks. I must be confusing brothers w/sons. Between the Patricia & Robert, (b'22/age23), divorce in '55 & Robert living w/his mom after the Braggs divorce in '30, (age8), Patricia seems unlikely to have had strong relationship w/Paul. Do you know anything of the claim that the "swimming accident", (already modifed from killing him by drowning at the scene to permanently damaging his health, leading to his fatal heart ), was really a car accident in California?

  • Sorry, not following you in your statement that "Patricia seems unlikely to have had a strong relationship w/Paul." Can you make it clearer?

I've heard the California car accident story & certainly the swimming accident in Hawaii story ...but don't buy either. But that's just me.

  • I was off-topic, but the current spokesperson, (owner?), of the Bragg company, Patricia Bragg, refers to her "..legendary father, Paul Bragg...", in her literature. This continues the Bragg heritage of biographical fiction. That's all I meant. / I know the original "car story" can't be 100% true, as it ends w/fatality on-site,(as the swimming story once did), but I'm curious about its source: Obviously contradictory to the official Bragg version.

  • I have no idea where the pre-death California auto accident came from. I've only heard it at a couple of places on the internet. Maybe someone else here knows? The dramatic swimming accident is definitely the most promulgated.

  • lied?! about hes age.. WOW OMG! please kid.. if most USA Zombies die at the age of 40 or 50./.. my dad.. 42 just had a heart attack.. [THANK GOD HES ALIVE] but theres goes the PROCESSED FOODS.. its a FACT. pleople only care about the Present they dont see the FUTURE.. this guy died SURFING AT 81.. WHO DE FUK DIES SURFING AT 81???? WHO??? most old 80 yr old folks are sitting at home wasting their life on TV.. that is if their still ALIVE! SO U TELL ME WHO LIES..WHEN THE FDA LIES 24.7 AND KILL US

  • Before you start popping off, you might actually get yourself a copy of Paul C. Bragg's death certificate.

He died in the emergency room of South Shore Hospital, Miami Beach, Florida of a heart attack at 1:15 P.M. on December 7, 1976. According to a close family member, he suffered a stroke earlier that morning in his hotel room.

    No surfing was involved.

  • i loved your comment!:)

  • @N "Most USA zombies die @ 40 or 50". Is lying contagious among Bragg fans? The average age of death for a US male is 74.8, but this average begins at BIRTH, & includes infant mortality, genetic ailments not caused by poor diet or lack of exercise, accidents, wars, etc. Surviving childhood, surviving Army service, etc , greatly increases the average, thus, 81 is quite average for those who survive to adulthood. All you have to do is look around you to see many healthy active 80 years olds.

  • I would like to scratch the statment I made earlier, after some determined seraching for information it bacame very apparent and obvious that Paul Bragg lied about almost every aspect of his life. I guess it's true the truth does always come out in the end.

  • You got that right!!

  • He was 81 when he died. I think he lied about hsi own age for obvious reasons. Its a shame.

  • He died of a surfing accident! At 81! How cool is that!

  • True. Patricia is not Paul's daughter. Why they carried on that ruse while Paul was still alive & it contines to this day...who knows? Neither one was or is very believable.

BTW, if you are interested in Patricia's "true" background, Wikipedia now has a Patricia Bragg page.

  • Patricia is not his daughter. She was married to his son. Just the fact that she lies about it makes me wonder what her deal is.

  • Who knows how long this guy would have lived had he had that surfing accident that took his life at 95 years young.

  • he was 81 when he died.Patricia Bragg isn't his daughter. He was a meat eater. He was an excellent sales and marketing man and the company have made a fortune because of his ability to tell stories about his supposed longevitiy. He looks good for a guy in his 70's but there is ABSOLUTELY no way he's 94 in this film.Jack lalanne is the same age now Bragg is supposed to be in this film and LaLanne looks frail in comparison. If he's 94 then I'm Elvis..

  • Good Morning, Elvis ! Read the Books ten times of Paul, then follow his lessons and it will help you to understand the truth!

  • the truth is you've been conned by a fraud as well.Thank you thank you very much.

    Elvis has left the building

  • Those, who read carefully his books now it better, which age he recieved. At age 85 he wrote his marvelous book "Miracle of Fasting". And that was not the last one, he wrote in best shape and health. So it is quite nonsense to say he died from heartattack at age 81! Those people seem to be only selfish Google Surfers, but not real wavesurfers and health advocates! :-) 

  • Paul C Bragg died at the age of 96 in 1976, he was surfing in Hawaii and was bowled by a large wave, he had techincally drown, but was brought back to life by some US marines. As a result of his accident he sustained severe internal damage which caused him to black out and breathing problems, around 9 months after the accident he had one such black out, the paramedics pumped him full of drugs and he died. It was a very sad end to an incredible man.

  • Thanks a lot for explanation honkyank. That is the same explanation I got directly from dr. William L. Esser on his Fasting ranch in Lake worth, Florida in 1992. It is too sad to hear that Paul was murdered by medical drugs. Too sad... He saved my live at age 19 and I am lucky to follow his way of life until now. Feeling younger and younger, cleaning my body of the old rubbish refined food. Those , who read carefully his books now it better, which age he recieved.

  • I would like to scratch the statment I made earlier, after some determined seraching for information it bacame very apparent and obvious that Paul Bragg lied about almost every aspect of his life. I guess it's true the truth does always come out in the end.

  • i first read the miricle of fasting 10 yrs ago and have fallen in and out of the program what an inspiration to take charge of your health and enjoy life to the fullest

  • I need to get back on the Bragg healthy lifestyle. It's wonderful, and I never felt better in my whole life. Paul, Patricia and their books are gifts from God.

  • Bragg died of a heart attack in Miami Beach,FL on 12/7/1976

He was born 1895 not 1881. He was 81 when he died. While I can agree with some of his insight I cannot agree with everything he advocated.

  • Yeah, he outlasted the vast majority of his generation, and still felt great. That's awesome.

I do agree with everything he taught, simply because I followed it to the letter and it worked.

  • robertangel30, I'm pretty sure Bragg died in a swimming accident..or perhaps the surfing accident as thore0007 says.

  • robertangel30, you are right..I just checked it. Born 1881 and died from a heart attack caused by complications from a surfing accident in 1976. I believe everything Bragg says in his books..wish I had the fortitude to get into his health plan whole heartedly! : )

  • I had had a whole library of his books and lost them all. I can't even find all of them anywhere. Thanks for posting this!

  • The Bragg family sells his books on their website. try googling: Paul Bragg.

  • The Bragg family sells his books on their website. try googling: Paul Bragg.

Thank you for the tip. I already did and recieved them.

  • bragg dot com :-)

  • Looks like you're really into natural nutritition! You've provided some good information. It's great to see some one else really contribute. Well Done

  • I know i was just at Tony Robbins and i couldn`t believe it because i was already on that track

  • He really is the father of the Natural Health Movement! He is living proof that eating healthy natural foods really does lead to longer, healthier life. All the health experts of today are simply repeating what Paul Bragg was teaching over 75 years ago!
