@michaelvm92 thank you so much! iam so sick of seeing all those australian positive reviews for crush because it fucking doesnt deserve it! anyone who thinks crush is by any standard good is either blind or a liar
Australia obssesses over good ol' AUSSIE DRAMA'S, not really much of a selection because we do have such a small industry. But if we make much more of a variety of films, we could expand the industry further.
"Prey" opened in Australia to 3 theatres on May 7. In its opening weekend, Prey took a very disappointing $342 over the 3 cinemas, average $114 per theatre. Each theatre had (on average) 3 sessions per day over the weekend, meaning that just over $12.60 was made per session time. According to the average adult cinema tickets, it equivilates to just 1 Adult going to see Prey per session time.
I dont think it was Advertised enough..Australia! was ver popular..why not this?
The thing is that the big studios out scouting for actors for their next feature could care less how an independent film fares at the box office. If it ever comes out on DVD or is uploaded, the public could also care less. The only stakeholders for box office success are the movie makers. If that is the case then they should make sure they have left enough funds over to actually market the movie and get it distributed. True it wasn't advertised at all but that doesn't mean it's not worth seeing.
Thanks NatBcom. Natalie will probably win an Oscar before she wins Gold Logie, and they wonder why there's a talent exodus overseas. Still the long serving (and suffering) Rebecca Gibney has languished here longer and ran the best media campaign, not that her show probably isn't good, (it's just not my thing). Natalie can console herself with a win for her show SYTYCD Australia, this thrilling movie and fans like yourself. I'd rather see the movie though where I always go, The Ritz at Randwick.
Natalie Bassingthwaighte said in an interview that the movie is due for release in May. The trailer alone is thrilling and really shows off Natalie's range and intensity as an actor. It'll be the first movie set in Australia in years that I for one will pay to go and see. Wolf Creek eat your heart out. My allegiance was with Noni Hazelhurst on the subject of Wolf Creek!
what is the name of this song? :)

This movie was quite horrible.
But it was fun to have a laugh at, so it's okay.
Unlike CRUSH, which was simply just horrible and boring.
