This is the japanese version of the game, is it not? The Japanese version of the NES must have had more processing power for the more detailed music than it's American counterpart.

There are many things I love about Castlevania. Spikes hanging above instant death water is not one of those things.

Is he cheating? He hit the spikes that drop from the ceiling, but they didn't kill him. That's rather weird. Now that I think about it, enemies aren't hurting him but by maybe half of what they should. I could be wrong.

different damage values in the japanese version. theirs was considerably easier. check wikipedia for a list of differences youll see what i mean.

Well, her spells are powerful as shit. But Grant's quick with the knife. Enemies have little to no reaction time when you're shanking them, and all it takes is typically three hits for the stronger enemies. I prefer his attack to the whip, even.

unfortunately in the japanese version his main attack is throwing knives :P

True, but the Japanese version is too easy. It has good music, granted, but the difficulty is much better in the American version.

Besides that, I'll take the combat knife over the throwing knives any day of the week.

he has some flaws like not being able to attack while in the stairs, also his attacks are way too weak, but what makes up for it, is the range of his attacks and the fact that can turn into a vampire

You mean bat. Yeah, I guess skipping difficult platforming sections are a bit of a convenience, but I much prefer Grant, the rigged character of awesome, or Sypha the mage of coolness :P
