How would you respond to those that claim that the Torah is nothing but a couple of heathen laws from ancient Mesopotamia and that it has no authenticity at all. And that in fact Abraham, Moshe and the Israelites just created a religion with all kinds of elements from religions in Egypt (Nile and Pharaoh worship) and Mesopotamia (sacrifice system, stories of how the world came into existence). The only authentic element could be: Monotheism.

Its seems true to me that the Tanach has been going through some editorial changes when its canon was formed in the Babylonian exile. So how can we know that the Bible really (as Christians would say) is inspired. M’Lakhim Alef and M’Lakhim Bet are very different from Divrei-Hayamim Alef and Divrei-Hayamim Bet (similar situation as with the gospels). So what is the evidence that it is from God.

The masoretic text (oldest Hebrew known text) dates from 1000 A.D. The Septuagint goes back to 200-300 B.C. Of course the Qumran scrolls confirm the Masoretic texts. But how do we know these documents give reliable stories about Moshe, David and other historical people and events? Because Muslims claim to have a Quran that is preserved and a Sunah (in the Ahadith) with a closed chain of transmission they make the claim that Islam should be seen as the most reliable religion for mankind.

Hey buddy, you are un-believer in my eyes as a Muslim, because one of the six Belief's Pillars in Islam is : Believing in all Allah's Prophets, including his final Messenger for all nations, Muhammed (a.s.) .

To follow one true Religion, you have to get a proof that it is a TRUE religion. Just following some stories or some scriptures without seeing a proof that it is true, is not enough. If you read Quran try to find any error, you won't. Proof enough to me.

I think it unreasonable to consider us as though we reject a prophet simply because we are unconvinced that a particular individual is a prophet. There is a difference between being unconvinced of something and rejecting something. I believe we can be guilty of rejecting a prophet only after we KNOW someone is a prophet and yet despite our knowledge refuse to heed him.

I don't know about the entire Bible, but regarding the Torah - the answer is yes, they have.

Jews do not view the ENTIRE Bible with the same regard Muslims view the Qur'an. Jews only regard the Torah with equal or more authority as Muslims view the Qur'an. Jews DO accept the Hebrew Bible, but the Bible is the composed of many different books written by different authors. It is not one book. Only the part of the Bible called the Torah is regarded as eternal divine Law.

He also wrote a book entitled "The Abrahamic Faiths." That's a very good explination. And even though Christians and Jews are like polar opposites, we both agree exactly on the text of the Old Testament (with slight variants ofcourse). Don't waste your breath, brother. Muslims have no rational reason for accusing us of corruption other than the bitterness of not finding "AHMD" in the Torah.

Ibn Hizm is a perfect example of a Muslim befriending a Jew (Shmuel HaNaggid in this case, who attained a high post of Jewish prime minister and commander-in-chief of the Muslim Granada). However, his attitude changed upon becoming an Islamic jurist and theologian.

I'm confused when I see the people who claim that the Tanakh has been corrupted because those who make the accusations can't actually nail down when this corruption took place, and more importantly - what was corrupted. For their accusation to hold any water, they would need to have the 'uncorrupted version' and the 'corrupted version' of today to compare them. Its just the question that was asked whether the Quran is actually 'complete' and the response was 'what is the complete quran?'
