the japanese female judge judges iron chef japan and the voice over for her sounds like an airhead that loves everything even if it doesnt taste well but actually hearing her she sounds really much different she sounds very wise idk if shes struggling with english or what but she speaks real well.
that's the difference of iron chef japan... iron chef america uses judges "who knows cooking" like authors and other chefs. sometimes it would be great to include normal taste buds like us.
Donno's dishes looked more appealing to me than Morimoto's. And also the judges said they liked them, I think overall Donno's dishes were more appealing than Morimotos, probably even tastier.
This was my least favorite ICA......I like listening to smart, diplomatic, yet clearly communicated opinions like the ones Anderson Cooper delivered in another episode. Take notes Melissa Clark! Learn how to be professional when delivering your opinions without sounding like a female canine.
Melissa Clark is vicious. She speaks like someone who likes to hear her own voice only and can't seem to respect other people's opinion. Judges like her takes away from a positive experience that shows like this could have. There are better ways to deliver one's thoughts in a respectful manner rather than the way she did by being just so sharply disagreeable.
it's funny because all the judges have different ideas of the perfect meal. shouldn't they do some sort of screening before they select the judges? that girl on our left had nothing to add to the show. who selects these people?
they gotta be fair to safe chef donnas face...come on....overall morimoto was one of the weakest chef in iron chef japan...but is the top in iron chef ameria..
no Nakamura was worse, and the same reason he lost here is the reason he ever lost in Japan, when Morimoto cooks in japan, they say he's too american, too edgy, and in America, he's too japanese, not the rght taste for the judges. I've been to his resturant before, and I think he's a brilliant chef, it's just a certain palate. Americans who appreciate Japanese foods.
No, on Iron Chef America, he's lost a number of times, actually more than you would believe. It's because his cooking is very Japanese, and the judges arent always impressed. If you look on Iron Chef Japan though, he rarely lost, because he is an amazing chef, hi palette is just too japanese for americans tsometimes.
Yeah the american judges are not impressive themselves. That fat ass with glasses does nt know what he is talking about. Just because you eat alot doesnt mean you know food.
I know, I never know why they invite him all the time, He reminds me of a chubby little kid who's like, MUMMY! I WANT A SWEETIE!!!! MUMMMMYYYY!!!! I WANT A SWEETIE!!!!! and just cause he went to Harvard and wrote a book and eats a lot, yeah, doesnt qualify him for the GAME.
@LordOmberus Maybe so, but thankfully I've heard people agree with me, and you don't really have a very strong arguement. You should study Socratic Law. Thank you, come again.
Or you could die choking on a billion dicks. Just because I don't make an argument with you doesn't mean I can't make an argument, you conglomeration of shit and fail. I could argue with a brick wall too, and it wouldn't get any smarter than you would.
@edld46 lol you are joking I hope. why he had created some of the worse dishes? he is oriented and specialised on the oriental dishes. It may be that you do not like his style of food, but you can never say that he did bad dishes. You have a right to an opinion, but an opinion is usually spoken through a mouth and not from an ass.
OK, i don't know how Donna got more points for plating, but he definitely had more creative dishes... The fake caviar, that's genius, you can't say anything to that. The assembly dish with the soup was also amazingly well presented, and all his dishes had expert presentation. And, of course, he won the taste contest BECAUSE HE USED BACON. That right there is a win by default. :D
no, honestly, it's shitty to say, but it's the truth, if the judges weren't American, Morimoto would not lose so much. He likes to remain true enough to Japanese cuisine that American palates don't always like what he makes. But damn, they seriously never let him win, even though he's the best one there...
oh my god. either the scores were rigged or the judges don't know what they're doing. there's no way donna's score could be THAT much higher than morimoto's!
It's called a sixth dish. The rules say that the chef has to make 5 dishes. But if you stack up more dishes that are slightly less intricate, you get more points. Strength in numbers for Chef Donna.
What is it about fat, sweaty Italian guy that offends me? I don't understand.

I LOVE Morimoto san, he's my favorite Iron Chef of all time, but Chef Donna won fair and square.
A true master needs to lose every now and then in order to keep striving for perfection.

I never, ever understand how Morimoto ever loses in originality on ANY match of ICA. Squid eye candy? I mean, that alone is just mindblowing.
