I must disagree with some of the choices. Blade Runners a Dystopian future not post appocolyptic and Water world was well...horrendous. I do admire you though for including a Boy and his dog...BTW, did you Notice in the Movie "Book of Eli" there is a poster for a "Boy & His Dog in the movie theater Eli sleeps in...nice inside joke. I don't know if I'd count Children of Men, Escape from New York, or Blade Runner as post-apocalyptic movies because the settings are dystopian, but those settings still feature intact, continuing civilization.

Waterworld dragged and had some really inconsistent plot lines, but the setting was really cool. I actually thought The Postman was a great movie even though most people hated it so that should be up there. The Road was really good. The Stand, technically a miniseries, was very good.

A Boy and His dog is by far my very favorite post-apoc movie. It has a kind of eerie, otherworldly tone and lots of little nice touches to it that just make it rather bizarre - like the weird chiming noise that occurs whenever Blood picks up a lead on something. And I especially like that it's not just another post-apoc-themed action flick. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course, but I really like the fact that it focuses most on the characters and their daily lives in the setting.
