  • "GET OUT!!!!!!... please"

  • 1:37....umm sperm?

  • can anyone tell me which movie is the best.....i'd really appreciate that

  • Comment removed

  • The Charleston seems like a good way to break an ankle or tear a couple of ligaments.

  • "You can't live forever, you can't live forever..." #YOLO

  • I swear the dog got bigger throughout that whole scene.

  • i love the internet

  • Myrtle screeching "Daisy! Daisy! Daisy!" reminds me of Justin Bieber singing "Baby! Baby! Baby!"

  • did anybody else have a brief Lost Boys moment in this clip? if you did, you'll know exactly what I mean.

  • wasn't myrtle supposed to be corpulent? she's so skinny here...

  • @jodeinaPR thats what I was saying

  • the whole cast has a sweating problem

  • @Carpediem5826 Sweating is a natural human response to heat, it's not a "problem" or disease as you imply. This book took place in the 20's, before they had air conditioning. It's people today who are pampered to live at 65°F their whole lives, that think a bit of sweat is a "problem."

  • why the fuck does she cry when she say's "you cant live forever, you cant live forever"

  • i wish women can be hit today like in this movie without getting shit

  • favorite part of the movie is when myrtle gets destroyed by tom >:]

  • Richard Gilmore! (Gilmore Girls)

  • That's all a girl can be in this world. A beautiful little fool.

  • To everyone asking why they were sweaty:

There was no AC back then and it was summer. :)

  • Pssssshhhhhhtttt. I dance like that in my sleep.

  • Wow, dances back then were energetic as ever.

  • The guy who plays Nick was cute. Now I see him on Law and Order and I'm like NICK CARRAWAY!!!!!!

  • why aer they all so sweaty?

  • "I guess a kissing-cousin affair could be ok? even in the early 1900's; as the country was still so very young!"

  • myrtle is a ugly whore. I'm glad she got slapped. She's fucking creepy cunty lil bitch

  • why is everyone sweaty

  • @dragonnightflight if you read the story it says it was during the summer.

  • Moral destitution in an environment of material abundance.

  • looks like tomatoe juice drippin out her nose

  • slap dat hoe

  • how will this help us in college... and daz how we do it tom. my dude

  • 2:54 knock out blow

  • Keep your pimp hand strong.

  • It all resolves at 4:00

  • Damn, that girl got bitch slapped..

  • Oh my gosh that pug at 3:31 is adorable...

  • 9:29 no one listens to someone that drunk at a party

  • Jordan's a babe!

  • Tom Buchanon be pimpin' son!

  • Did that dog just get bigger?

  • @winstonlin143 hahah, it grew like 4 feet in an hour.

  • 2:55 PARTY FOUL!

  • 7:52 now thats what i call a party...rolls eyes why do i have to spend a minute watching that girl dance

  • :33 those green earrings are from the 70s not the 20s haha..everybody is sweaty in this movie i guess they didnt have a/c then i know it stank up in there lmao..that punch was horrible who directed this

  • my boy tom is that dude, and also fuck english class

  • eww at 7:58

  • there are 50 people watching myrtle cheat?

  • @JboySchneider yes, people there in new york saw their relationship as something normal; they didn't hide from anyone there. It is quite stange, isn't it? haha

  • Favorite part was from 2:01-2:28 cuz tom is bi-polar

  • what is the name of the song played during gatsby's party?

  • Is Myrtle cross-eyed or is it just me?

  • That's What I Call A Bitch Slap!

  • For everyone wondering, YES Nick is played by Sam Waterson, aka Jack McCoy from Law and Order

  • When Myrtle is talking about when she met Tom, she was just..creeping me the hell out.

  • I kinda wished I could've lived during this time period. :/ Oh and Im reading the book and watching the movie and for those who didn't read it, it is an awesome book stop being lazy and read it -_-

  • Enjoy the time period that you're in now. In the 1920's, they probably wished they could have lived in the 1850's. And in 100 years from now, people will wish they could live in the 2010s, during a "simpler" time. Trust me, things change, but they don't necessarily get worse. The quality of life that we live now would be the life a king would live in the 1920s.

  • @SagaciousSilence This sounds like the moral of Midnight in Paris.

  • @jccaroline0228 I agree with you!

  • I thought Mrs. Wilson was supposed to be hideous. She isn't pretty but I think she's a good distance from being ugly.

  • Thumbs up if you had you test on gatsby today. XD

    ...Any takers?

  • Darn....they don't have good parties like they used to

  • 2:53

I miss America's old justice system!

  • at 2:24 nick be getting dat dome

  • 3:22 wtf again?

  • 1:44 Nick thinking..."wtf"

  • That speech was fabulous, great acting.

  • God Damn! It looks like u can really work up a sweat while dancing the Charlston ._.

  • thumbs up if you have a assignment on this and you rather watch this than read the dam book

  • @yengo21 you're missing a lot. fucking amazing book

  • haha I like how all the comments are about daisy getting slapped

  • did anybody else lol when she got slapped?

  • daisy daisy dasiy shut up bitch ! 2:54

  • she gotmutha fukin bitch SLAPPED!!! Pimp hand strong my nigga!!

  • "She's a Cath-o-lic." Funny how now everybody says "Cath-lick"

  • the bitch got slapped!!!

  • Am I the only person in the world who read The Great Gatsby for pleasure?

  • 4:17 star trek

  • the person who plays jordan is really pretty

  • omg robert redford is so cute

  • I love Jordan's voice

  • i hate this film - i just finished the novel for the second time and it's one of my favourite books, and this film is crapping all over it. the scenes are horribly put together, with sloppy voiceover and broken excerpts from the book, the casting choices are so wrong that they distract from the story, and the acting is melodramatic and over-indulgent. f scott fitzgerald is rolling over in his grave.

  • @jinglymastoon I AGREE!

  • I had to read the book, just finished it today, and I had to write everything what's happening ,in evry chapter-it took me 3 days :) I'm from Romania btw ;)

  • nothing like the book..and ugly ass women...

  • Lol, watching this instead of reading the book.

  • @NeesDeep You'd have a much better time with the book.

  • Drunk

  • @ 0:39 A Girl Is Competely

  • Nick looks a younger version of the dude from Law & Order

  • @jaci27 Surprise! He is.

  • @jaci27 same actor dumbass

  • @jaci27 because it is the same person.. errr..

  • tom walks like he's crippled

  • Remember people its 1920s, the time of women going crazy.

  • I CANT HEAR MYRTLE'S MONOLOGUE!!!! ARGGGH

  • @kristine5050 me neither >.<!!!

  • Wow, what happened to that dog? It's a puppy when she buys it and in the apartment it's a full grown dog??

  • Emma Watson would be such a good Daisy

  • 8:15 Apparently my grandma did this very well :]

  • i hope no puppies were harmed in the making of this movie

  • thumbs up if you have a test tomorw on Great Gatsby.

  • @ghettodudefrmdahoodz try and exam -____-

  • @ghettodudefrmdahoodz How did your test go? You might try THE BEAUTIFUL AND DAMNED. It's very readable! It's not so silly what you did, watching a movie to help you with a book. I started reading Balzac in French that way. I needed to hear an English version of it on BBC radio to get captivated by the story and to have the fortitude to read the book. The French were shocked. They consider Balzac a bore cuz the first 50 pages are usually all just descriptions, but then, the books fly!

  • @ghettodudefrmdahoodz haha. I thought I was the only one...

  • Did the people who produce this movie and chose cast get the description on how the characters are suppose to be :\? I though Tom was gonna be a hottie, Myrtle a lil chubby and not so pretty, Nick to be hottie, Gatsby as a hottie, they got Daisy and her cousin down XD i think i expect to much beauty in this book XD n/m

  • @yamilayamilayamila haha me too xD

  • @yamilayamilayamila Gatsby IS a hottie, I mean come on, it's Robert Redford in his prime ;) Tom is really gross though...

  • @Sevyn1290 Yes he is XD! I wrote the comment before seeing Gatsby XD

  • 2:53 Fuckin BACKHAND BITCH!!!

  • Sam Waterson is the perfect Nick Carraway.

  • Myrtle wasn't annoying, tom's just a dickhead.

  • I watched this only to see Myrtle get punched in the face..

    She's fucking annoying.

  • Does anyone else hate myrtle

  • the dog'd an adult by the end of that evening.. what happened?? O.o

  • @SJANews I noticed wtf is the time line here? lol don't have time to read this this week...

  • I just finished the book today for my English 11 class.

  • If the only reason your watching this is for Grade 12 English. Thumps Up.

  • Tom 1 - Myrtle 0

  • when myrtle gets hit in the face, every guy in my english class clapped lmao

  • Myrtle gets Owned! hahah

  • I thought Myrtle was supposed to be more curvy and thick.

  • Homework : Finish Great Gatsby

Me: Watch the movie on youtube.....

  • the dog suddenly grew so old

  • I actually read the whole book twice and saw the movie I enjoyed the book=D

  • Jordan is one hot bitch ;)

  • Epic dancing

  • Oh Roaring Twenties!

  • Looks like Isla Fisher is Myrtle! How perfect!

  • i would bone daisy

  • @luv2skate37 Look At This Horny Bastard lol

  • Mytle and Daisy are the two mostly annoying girls i would ever think of in my life .....

  • 2:25 "GET OUT.... please" ahah best part!!!!

  • Robert Redford hated filming this movie. He said it was like being in a strait jacket for 6 weeks. And Lois Chiles (Jordan) was not very well liked on the set.

  • wheres Mr.Mckee

  • This Myrtle reminds me of Amy Adams performance in June Bug haha

I wonder if the remake will cast Ginnifer Goodwin as Myrtle or even better Mamie Gummer

  • Before you get down too much on the actress that plays Myrtle, read the story about how she single-handedly landed a plane and saved all of its passengers. Karen Black did a wonderful job with this role - she was supposed to be awkward.

  • AP ENGLISH LIT SUCKS IM WATCHING THIS INSTEAD OF READING THE BOOK

  • @MrDanders617 same here dude -__-

  • @MrDanders617 and @DarkFlamesReborn Insipid lazy twats.

  • this is one of those books that every kid should read. the movie is decent but fails to hold up in comparison to the book. i know that sounds really snobbish but fitzgerald is a maverick.

  • Comment removed

  • the drunk chick at the end is hillarious

  • thats how my MOMIE and DADDY show Love for each other

  • Boom! HEADSHOT!

  • why the hell would he have an affair. Daisy is so much prettier and Mrs. Wilson is sooo freaking hideous

  • i would have punched her too, she's soo f**ing hideous

  • she looks like shes having an orgasm when she talks about tom.. its kinda weird

  • I hate when teacher want us to use specific qoutes to answer question fml_-_-

  • O,o that is a strange dance.......

  • I can't hear nothing -.-

  • Thumbs up if your only watching this for school -__-

  • @brendandoran914 actually no…i love the book…and the movie is kinda shwag in comparison…im saying this as a man who hasn't fully read a book for school since 7th grade

  • @brendandoran914

Thumbs up if your watching this because many years after school, you realize and appreciate how great the novel is -_-

  • @ssotkow We read this last month, and at the time I'm not gonna lie I hated it...now looking back I love it for some reason. Kind of like Romeo and Juliet, I needed some time away from it to appreciate it.

  • @brendandoran914 hopefully you didn't write a paper for this, because it's "you're," not "your."

  • @brendandoran914 you got that right, i gave up reading it after the 10th page

  • @ivanindahau 10th page? Fuck, I gave up on the 2ND page.

  • @brendandoran914 My teacher once commented on how handsome the guy playing Gatsby was. I was like YESSSSSS XD

  • @ViralJuggernaut hahaha mine did too :p
