20 second hold downs are not about just holding your breath, you have to breath out your nose the entire time to keep the water from drowning you... Ok, start the video again and blow out your nose until he comes up... Not very easy, especially when your getting tossed around like a rag doll.

ood job man...that place does get big. I just fucked myself up at the Lane last Friday during the south swell. Solid 10' and a late drop sent me over the falls and into the rocks...took three more before I was able to get safely off the rocks. My hand got shredded, my back and ass/thigh got gnarled, my wetsuit is ripped and my 9 footer needs serious repair. Surfing is fucking awesome.

I was out at SF OB yesterday and the waves were pretty small (3-4 feet on the face) but breaking in knee to waist deep water. I was too spooked to try to catch any of those so ended up way on the outside catching (or trying to catch) mushy waves that were just barely breaking. Shallow water is the freakiest thing to me about surfing.
