well, as a Korean, I can tell you that back when that song was new, South Koreans pretty much ignored North Korea to a point that it was almost a non-issue among South Koreans... I don't think there was so much "North/South tension" reflected in this song.. for one, the people on the streets are not Korean people.. My guess is perhaps Kosovo had to do something with the song.

Yeah, that is true about the people in the streets. At the same time, I feel like it can be universal about having peace anywhere in the world by letting go of the violent conflict between each other. I know that one of her third album song called "No More Terror" relates to the tragic events of 9/11.
