@notsuchaclevername11 A link to the sheet music is in the description. It would be quicker for you to learn how to read music than it would to follow some "tutorial" of this. You can watch the video response by "yukimatsuri" to see it being played if you're curious about fingering and hand positions.
Wow, this is beautiful :) I haven't seen a transcription that I've been fully satisfied with in years, thank you~ but one question, I went to the site you listed, I don't know what tonclick. ^;;
@ybliat I made this piano reduction using the orchestrated version found as a MIDI file at a site you can find if you do a Google search for "どうぶつマニア" and choose the DS version. Ability to read Japanese will make navigation easier, but it is not necessary (though you have to have Japanese fonts in order to see, copy & paste what I put in quotes there).
@EdselR13 A violinist should be able to read off this score. I deliberately put accents on all the melody notes (except those that are slurred into) so that a performer on a solo instrument could take the melody (and so it's obvious to the pianist, since sometimes the melody note is not the highest note being played).
Back for another listen. I haven't played this game before, but the music makes me think of looking up at the summer sky, while lying on top of a bale of hay, being transported by a horse-drawn wagon along a rural road on a peaceful sunny day ... not that I've experienced that either haha.
Do a Google search on "どうぶつマニア" (assuming you have Japanese fonts and can copy'n'paste that text). The site will be on top -- a DS page and a GameCube page. Obviously, this theme is on the DS page.
It always makes me feel bad when I look at all these difficult pieces. I've only had one semester of experience. :/ I'll post a video response of me playing piano.
Indeed it is quite playable -- just one or two rolls in the left hand required (one really, if you play one voice in the right though it's notated for the left). The video response to this by "yukimatsuri" is proof of its playability.
@fugiman56 Well.. I played for.. good 6-7 Years now, but this still looks very hard for me. Because.. i only got taught 2 years, after this time, I tried to improve by myself and well.. it worked, I can play some difficult Pieces now, but it's still difficult though. :D I uploaded 4 Videos of me playing some pieces.. if you find the time, you can listen to them. Some critics would be nice :)
Yes. I forgot to put a link in this description yet, but I do have a link for it in the description of the video of "The Roost" which you should see in "Related Videos".
Well, in order to make the audio for this, I had to render a WAV of the MIDI file, so... Of course, you can always capture the audio right off this video. I don't know of any PC sound card or chip that can't record its own audio output these days. Ideally I'd like to go in and reduce the velocity level of a few notes that are a bit too loud, and re-render it.
Amazing! I was working on transcribing this song for piano using that exact same MIDI from that Japanese site, lol. I did not, however, make it past the intro. You seem to have done a better job than I ever could have though.
Is it possible for me to get the MIDI itself from you? I'm really only a casual piano player, and sheet music takes me ages to read. I only play for fun and like to learn from piano rolls rather than sheet music.
The score was made in Sibelius. The MIDI file is played using SynthFont software loaded with a 1GB piano sample set run through a couple of filters for wood resonance and room reverb.
If you have Japanese fonts, do a Google search for どうぶつマニア
There is a GC (GameCube) and a DS section. Obviously you need the DS section for this one. The title theme is the first MIDI file available (being able to read Japanese, or at least katakana, will help with knowing what the others are, or you can just click 'em). That is the orchestrated MIDI file I used to come up with this piano reduction.
Or did you want my piano reduction as a MIDI file?
Hey you know this midi player is quite good, but hey if you know this tom briar guy you should get him to start playing them! And also, really, if you love your music (i'm guessing you do if you can be bothered to make these scores) then you'll go and play, play, play, play, play the piano until you are a pro. No offense implied.
Tom does have this sheet music; I gave it to him back in November when I made it. Whether he has played it or not, I don't know.
I'd never be "a pro" at the piano. I was decent back when I had my piano, but that was over 13 years ago. Hopefully sometime in the next year when I move, I'll have my piano back, or a different one.
That's really nice! I cant help but get the feeling that something is missing, maybe you didn't add some notes where i thought should have,or it could be because you played the bass a softer and in the actual song there's a sort of loud guitar doing the bass and I'm not used to it,or maybe its just because there's no accompanying instruments so it sounds lik its missing something. you are an awesome arranger bravo! Now if only i had a pedal harp then I could play this*starts entering sweepstakes*
The only notes I can recall omitting entirely were the weird "ooeeeeeoooo" things the tune has. Not really any way to incorporate those into a piano reduction, I thought.
Beautiful

@Gabriel11B It's a PDF file. As long as you have Adobe Reader, you should be able to load it no problem.

oh god.... this really is annoying to play...
the grace notes make it very hard to immediately stretch an octave, or even a 6th...
