@Noold It's a jerk, not a push press, and you can choose whatever stance-width you like. Most of the top athletes tend to have the same width for all events: snatch, short cycle (this) and long cycle. The wider stance allows two KBs to pass between the legs during each long cycle rep.
@Quatchkopf Who ever you were spying on was someone else. The only shower I was involved in last night was the golden one I gave your mom. Do you always spy on men in the shower, homo?
@Quatchkopf To the contrary. My intent was only to show that you're a homo-erotically obsessed closet case as evidenced by the fact that every post you've made involves some reference to homosexuality, something obviously near and dear to your heart. So in that regard I've already won. Oh and BTW the only way to "win" shit talk is by making the other guy quit so fuck you if you think I'm about to.
@rico925 So isn't this ironic. You are calling me homo yet you want to fuck me. Sorry, I'm not a fag like you. Maybe you like taking it in the ass I myself will never find out. You call this shit talking, I'm talking truth queerbait. You have already won? In your shallow mind you have won. You couldn't even win if it was a one man contest. Try harder next time. Step up to the big boy league when you are ready.
@Quatchkopf Okay time for a quick review since you deleted all your incriminating posts. Guys lifting kettlebells "look gay" according to you. Me talking about boning you're mom makes you imagine me shower with men. Talking about giving her golden showers makes you imagine objects going up my ass. And again in your last post your imaging me taking it in the ass. These are your fantasies I didn't come up with that shit you did. Seriously the more you talk the gayer it gets.
@Quatchkopf Just keep pointing the finger and maybe people won't think you're queer but I doubt it. Everything you say reeks of poorly concealed homo fantasies...
@rico925 How far you willing to take this boy? You ready to go for account suspension? Cause I have not even started yet. Let me know and the game will start and we will discover what a true closet homo you are.
@Quatchkopf Take it wherever you want I could care less. I already accomplished what I set out to do in the first place. Honestly you just try so hard that anyone seeing your posts is gonna come to the conclusion that you've got something to hide. The more you talk the weaker your position gets and the more boring it gets to battle you...
@rico925 Like I said, I havent even started. Try hard? I don't think so and all you have proven is what a closet homo you are. When I get home for work I will start my post. Enjoy faggot!
@WorldKettlebellClub wow! and i thought i was strong beign able to jerk a 50lb kettlebell like this over 30 times per arm lol, this guy really is strong!
The Press was eliminated from olympic weightlifting because it was hard on the back? Doing push presses with kettlebells does seem kinda hard on the back? I do shoulder presses but I do them seated behind neck. Just that extreme bend in the lower back; looks dangerous?
After a while it starts to become cardio? That's a heck of a thing to do for so long and so many reps. That's extreme; I'm tempted to start training with kettlebells.
Go to the US Olympic Weightlifting team website and read up on why the press was eliminated. Sure it was hard to judge but it was also prone to back injuries due to the severe back bend.
While you are correct, I believe you might have misunderstood slightly. These presses are done with a slight back bend I grant you, however the Olympic competition presses had such a high degree of back bend that they looked like a standing bench press, putting a large stress on lower vertebrae. These are fine as long as you stay tight in the buttocks and abs.
olympic press was pretty hard on your back, in kettlebells you can see that hes keeping his core tight, the only reason his back is bent like that is so he can get the energy from his hips exploding more directly by having his elbows rest on the top of his hip bone
I dont know if you work with kettles but one thing is for sure. With the swings that one does, the backs are about as strong as they are going to be with any other exersices.
No, that is Ken Blackburn. He, along with Andrew Durniat on the far left hand side are the U.S. Heavyweights and are the nicest guys you will ever meet. They are true champions in their own right.
That is none other than Ivan Denisov the recent World Champion who did 175 jerks last year. Beside him is none other than Vasily Ginko, another world champion.

@bigsands1 I can see your point as a spectator. A bit like the 3,000metres in running - I always think: why don't they just do the last 100metres.
But it is an endurance sport for mental toughness. And yes it is mental! LOL

Looks like his shadow needs to train a bit harder, since it isn't in sync with its master... lol
btw, if the point of kettlebells are explosive strength then way train for reps (endurance strength)?
but it is amazing none the less
usbsol 3 years ago 2
this is how it is done as a sport... kettlebells can be used for explosive strength, hypertrophy (depending on the exercise), and endurance

i thought press was eliminated because it was hard to judge and give scores from a technical point of view.
what people in this video do is a lot healthier than those strongman lifts, but definitely not easier. good video
