Saw the Hermits on a comeback tour in 1986 (travelling with the Monkees, Gary Puckett), and Peter Noone told us, "Today you can synthesize any sound, but when we made Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter, the sound you hear from the guitar was made by stuffing a t-shirt under the strings at the top of the neck"
