tails isn't really annoying, just alittle ... to the point. chip was ok, he only talked during cutscenes, so not annoying, that and he doesn't know the world, like a little kid. although, you are the first person to say the werehog levels were good. thank you! but next time, work on the PS2 version, i think it's great
Sonic 06 isn't finished. Universal had them ship it out when it wasn't even finished. sad too because it had soooo much promise and potential. I hope one day they will be able to give us a finished copy...

You know, to me this was the best Sonic since Sonic 3 And Knuckles(That game was better than Chuck Norris BLASPHEMY!), the night levels were repititive but some were fun. I figured out how to make the vest sonic game. Somone MOD this game! Get rid of werehog levels, just leave it daytime levels and no hub. So it plays like a traditional linear sonic game. Why the fuk didnt they just do that from the start the game would have got 9/10's
@gosper They gotta come up with gimmicks for 3D Sonic else the games are over too soon because he goes through the levels too fast and they don't have enough money to make enough levels for the game to be long. But you can always finish the game and then only return to the running levels from your save game.
i think sonic series is inconsistant. i feel like it goes good bad good bad. First 3 sonics and some of the spinoffs were good, then sonic 3D blast and sonic R come. Few years later we get sonic adventure and adventure 2. Once again sonic is good. then heroes comes and is mediocre at best. then shadow the hedgehog and sonic next gen come. then rush comes and the game is good. unleashed was good but then black knight comes and sucks. i have high hopes for all stars racing and sonic 4 though

With Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 and Heroes they all got reviews of 8 and up and yet when Shadow came out every review started with the critic explaining how Sonic has been awful since he went 3D. Very strange.
I played the demo of this game (the first sonic level) and I HATED it. It felt like they were making sonic fast by taking more control away from the player. The orientation switches and the quick-time events made it feel like I was just playing one of those crappy interactive movies.
As for what a good sonic would be, I largely agree with the gameoverthinker (his video is in my favorites if your interested)

Good review, the the village hit and stupid tutorials made the game unplayable to me. Wearhog was also full of shit and was not fun at all so dont listen to him when he said that wearhog mode can be fun. i agree that when you make one tiny little mistake in this game it doesnt give you another chance to get an s rank and if you get hit at the end of the stage once out of the whole thing zip back to the beginning.
lemme say that the wii version,the day stages are awesome and the night stages are sort of bad. there was too less day stages,there were too many night stages,the day stages were too short,the night stages were too long. u get the picture.but for the 360 version,both day and night stages i thought were amazing!the day stages got 2 notches of graphics better than the wii day stages,and the night stages are much harder and not as boring,due to the fact that u don't kill each guy in 3 hits.
Sonic team have evidently worked hard on this game and its worth at least an 8 from me, the werehog although it is repetitive and at times can be annoying in parts was not that bad for me. I love how sonic team animated his arms and the fighting combos look pretty awesome at times. Espically more than IGN, if you don't believe just go to IGN Entertainment channel on YouTube and watch that SHITTY ASS reviewer Hilary Goldstein (it's a man not a woman) review of "Sonic Unleashed".

I hated the voice acting except eggman so i had to play in japanese on 360.

i agree that when you make one tiny little mistake in this game it doesnt give you another chance to get an s rank and if you get hit at the end of the stage once out of the whole thing zip back to the beginning.

lemme say that the wii version,the day stages are awesome and the night stages are sort of bad. there was too less day stages,there were too many night stages,the day stages were too short,the night stages were too long. u get the picture.but for the 360 version,both day and night stages i thought were amazing!the day stages got 2 notches of graphics better than the wii day stages,and the night stages are much harder and not as boring,due to the fact that u don't kill each guy in 3 hits.

Sonic team have evidently worked hard on this game and its worth at least an 8 from me, the werehog although it is repetitive and at times can be annoying in parts was not that bad for me. I love how sonic team animated his arms and the fighting combos look pretty awesome at times. I mean that is another thing, the werehog is slow...lol do you know any super fast werehog's in reality or fictional? no! lol that component is there to show sonic doesnt always need to rely on speed.

that still doesn't make this game bad. have you ever took a look at the Daytime stages. That alone should boost the game up to at least a 7.0. Graphics are a masterpiece so that should boost its score to 7.5 and maybe an 8.

ya,but the one thing i hate about the 360 version of sonic unleashed is that in the day stages,the robots u kill in one hit,right?but in the night stages,even though sonic is twice as huge and most likely twice as strong,you have to hit him like 15 times just to kill the same goddamn robot.that's the one thing they did right in the wii version,they kept the 1-kill robots and the dark gaia monsters SEPERATE from day and night.

The points about the werehog are merely harsh feelings to stab a series a bit more...It is so monotonously dumb to think that sonic should not change up his story a bit by turning into a werehog, let's see other games series that have done this

What the fuck is with sonic fanboys
Sonic is not just about running fast, look into his character he loves adventure, and to do this a game developer like sonic team has to come up with new ways to make these adventures happen. Sonic unleashed was a great game in my opinion over the very shoddy let's-forget-about 06 game. The daytime levels are fantastic both in graphics, gameplay and level design.

A perfect review! You forgot that to mention that the 360 version is very different then the PS2 version, but that doesn't matter as much. No pushing your opinion, everything in the 360 version was mentioned. A dead on review. Just remember that you should only talk about this game. Any bashing about Sonic 06 should be done in a Sonic 06 review.

I think that in the next Sonic game, they should make Sonic fast like he is in Unleashed, but its just Sonic. No extra things. Just normal fast Sonic. No Werehog, no sword, no anything. Just Sonic and Sonic's feet.

its a ps3/xbox 360 game called sonic the hedgehog as a reinvention of the series, it was released in 2006 so its called sonic 06, it wasn't a bad game but there were a large amount of bad glitches that made him slow and boring, and made it so easy to die

I was afraid of getting the newer sonic games after seeing how crappy Sonic the Hedgehog '06, Shadow the Hedgehog, and a couple others fail. But your review gave me a feeling that Sega is putting some more effort now into the Sonic games. I felt everything went downhill after Sonic Adventure 2, but I guess they're making a comeback? I'm going to buy this game now. Great review. 5 out of 5.

Sonic is finally coming back.This is whatwe wanted,a fast fun sonic game.And this game is fast.Well except 4 werehog.I mean the werhog isnt realy bad,its just not why i buy sonic.But i thiink its a cool idea and woulda been great if they just showed a lil less of him and more sonic.Kinda same with the black knight sonic.Looks very cool andthe speed is cool, but they focused too hard on the sword.Kinda a hack and slash.Wuld be cooler with a lil less of it.But never less sonics making a return

I was thinking the same thing. Somebody has actually taken there time and REVIEWED this game. I rely more on Whity's reviews than X-Play's and IGN's. Espically more than IGN, if you don't believe just go to IGN Entertainment channel on YouTube and watch that SHITTY ASS reviewer Hilary Goldstein (it's a man not a woman) review of "Sonic Unleashed".
