  • Whats that guitar in the background ?

  • @GubaJones - Custom "Ergo" model built by Chris Forshage, a luthier in the Austin, TX USA area. I have a demo of that guitar on my channel.

  • Beautiful version. Love this! I was looking for some demos on the NS1 and found this. Fantastic. Since I'm not a hardcore jazzer and just love the nylon string sound layered with synth or VG-99, I'm wondering if you've had the opportunity to compare the NS1 to a Godin Multiac Synth nylon string? Keep up the fine playing! You made my evening. Many thanks!

  • @2GoldensTosa - Thanks for the nice compliment and glad you enjoyed it. I used to own a Godin Multiac, and the NS1 had a lower action and slicker feel to me. Also the Carvin's heel is much smoother than the Godin's which uses a bolt-on construction. Plugged in they are not THAT different from each other, but I still give the nod to the Carvin. On the other hand, the Carvin has no acoustic sound at all, whereas the Godin had a quiet but nice unplugged tone.

  • @AOSoloist - It's low, lower than a traditional acoustic classical. Too low for me, actually, but perfect for the kind of jazzy/smooth playing that Steve Oliver practices.

  • I am seriously thinking about getting the NS1. How is the fretboard action. Does it feel like you can fly on it?

    Take care.

  • Hi!

Im thinking of buying this guitar.

I have a question you mabye could anwer.

Is it easier to play on the NS1 guitar, compared to a Classic nylon guitar? Is the string height lower? is it thinner strings?

Would be very happy for answers.

    Keep up the nice playing.

    Kind regards.

  • Hi there - the NS1 is easier for someone who is not used to full size classical guitars, but I sold mine because I actually prefer the full size instruments. It has lower action, a thinner neck, but normal strings. It's very much intended for players who are comfortable with electric guitars. Good luck - RP

  • sounds great! I went to school with your friend Brett Heinz in Hartford.

  • No way... curious how you recognize ME? I will email you.

  • Not sure if you care to share, but you say you sold the NS-1... I was wondering why? Just not a fan of synth (as you mentioned already), do you not really care for nylon, or did you find another nylon-electric that you like better?

  • Not to fear - it's a great guitar. But I don't get on well with the GR technology. I am actually VERY into nylon but I prefer the size and shape of handmade classical & flamenco acoustic guitars. So I just gave up on the plugged in thing altogether.

  • Great work! Thanks - what are you running the guitar through?

  • your website is cool. too. anyone who is anyone, check out his clips!

  • I think you are great! you could provide the remixed version of this song. I am serious - now that acoustic can be a category for remix. I love your acoustic interpretation of the music. absolutely awesome!

  • I am humbled. Thank you! -RP

  • Fabulous playing!!! I've been trying to decide which synth nylon guitar to get, the carvin or the godin. I use to have a cl450 but got rid of it. I hope to see some synth video from you soon.

  • That's not likely, since I sold the NS1. I have owned a Roland GR1 since 1991 when it came out, but guitar synth is just not my thing. Thank you for the compliment though!

    -RP

  • That was beautiful. One of the best videos I have ever seen on Youtube.

  • Needless to say, THANKS for the very nice compliment. -RP

  • Gosh very very nice! And I WANT that Guitar, thank you in advance :-)

  • How can I get the lyrics for this song? anybody please?

  • im jealouse! why are you so good!!?!?? keep it up man ;)

  • This Song from me to Tim Robins

  • good job man, brilliant!!

  • Hi

Gary B here from Luminous. I stumbled across this video. Thank you for playing over my tracks. Lovely guitar. Great to hear you!

  • Gary - how wonderful of you to post a comment. I really dig your "Equilibrium" album, and I'm glad you don't find my noodling offensive. :) Thank you for the inspiring tunes! -Roger

  • Hello AS, I am a novice at Flamenco... but I've bought a 1994 Conde blanca from Felipe V, and a Sanchis Lopez Bulerias (negra). Both are wonderful. No electronics on these. -RP

  • Hi RP!

Great playing which flamenco guitar do you prefer? Is it electrified or miked? Also,

do you prefer the clarus or ac-60?

    Regards,

    AS

  • hi, nice playing.

I owned a NS1 for 2 months: what amp do you use (I'm a classic-trained guitarist w/ not much experience in amps). Have you tried the 13 pin synth output? what do you think of the Terratec Axon MK II? thanks

    Pierpaolo

  • Hi, I use an Acoustic Image Clarus 2R feeding a Redstone RS-8vER cabinet. I dabbled with the synth output, but I always find it more of a distraction so I don't really use it. Actually, I'm selling the NS1 because I have gotten totally into full size acoustic Flamenco guitars now! Cheers - RP

  • Hey man....you just replaced my Prozac!!!! Great job....great playing and phrasing as well!

  • Excellent! What is your setup? R U Feeding into any synth box like a GR-20 or GR-33? I got my NS1 a few months ago and haven't had any time to really try it out.

  • Hi - I do have a GR1 that I bought back in 1992. I've messed with it a little, but mostly I'm just interested in the basic nylon string electric guitar aspect of the NS1.

  • very nice - with close eyes wouldn't be able to tell it's not acoustic nylon sound... and very good 'deep feel' playing, as usual.

  • Fantastic sounds
