I look at some of these videos and watch the games Jordan played in and I am constantly reminded why he is the standard for which everything is measured I cant knock Kobe for trying to measure up to that standard because it means he isnt going to cheat the integrity of the game but he will never reach the plateau that Jordan has reached so he just needs to create his own and stand on top of that

Jordan has played less, won more championships and scored more points. He's won more MVP's and even was defensive player of the year. Kobe is great, there is no denying that, but he still has to do more to be on Jordan's level. You forgot to take into the account the "Hand-Check Rule". During Jordan's era, scoring is a little more difficult because it was a bit more physical than today's. Hence, Pistons with their ruggedness and Celtics with their size, dominating the playoffs. While kobe's shooting form is better than jordan, kobe's technique came from watching, and idolizing, Jordan.

Jordan has played less, won more championships and scored more points. He's won more MVP's and even was defensive player of the year. Kobe is great, there is no denying that, but he still has to do more to be on Jordan's level. You forgot to take into the account the "Hand-Check Rule". During Jordan's era, scoring is a little more difficult because it was a bit more physical than today's. Hence, Pistons with their ruggedness and Celtics with their size, dominating the playoffs. While kobe's shooting form is better than jordan, kobe's technique came from watching, and idolizing, Jordan.
You can't compare players from one generation to the other. It's like comparing technology from 1800's with our smartphones.

Kobe is a tremendous player, but Jordan is the greatest of all time. Jordan was on a horrible team in 1986 and what you failed to mention is that he scored 63 points against one of the greatest teams of all time, so despite getting beaten in 3, that does not take away from Jordan's performances, avg 43.7 a game against the '86 boston team. Anyone who picks Kobe over Jordan is completely wrong. Jordan was the leader on all 6 of his championships. Sure he had great players with him, but he was the guy. Kobe had Shaq leading the team for 3 of his championships. Shaq, one of the most dominant players in NBA history. Besides this, Jordan still has one more championship. And even forgetting championships, Jordan has higher career scoring averages, but was also always one of the best defenders, even winning DPOY, along with 6 MVPs.

The best weapon in NBA history time and time again has always been.....a 7 foot beast. MJ never played with one and has 6 rings, a majority of Kobe's rings come largely because he was coupled with one of the what 5-10 best players in the history of the game. Pippen was a great player and a HOFer but not a dominant big man and not a top 5-10 player. Plus Kobe will end up playing more years, coming in the league 3 years sooner.

Back in the 90's, 3 pt range wasn't really a big part of the game. It took time for the league to recognize its importance and utilize it. Jordan had no weaknesses. If he wanted to, he could have perfected his 3s, but at that point in time, there was no need to. I will go as far to say that it would have impacted his game negatively if he added it to his game, because his midrange shot had gotten him 6 rings already, why fix something that isn't broken?

not going to start a silly arguement here but think about it, as soon as shaq left kobe points per game went up drasticlly, heres how it is, kobe without shaq would = kobe having a better ppg career average, but and the same time kobe without shaq would = less championships.

@The8310353 Kobe lost in the first Rd each year until Gasol got there. He never got pass the first round with Brown or Parker on his team. 2004-2005 they didn't make the playoff's ,2005-06 and 06-07 They lost to the Suns first round, First year Gasol got there they went to the final's 3 times. Kobe has never done it alone the same way this Video is saying Mike never did it without pip. Kobe had 3 years to prove he could do it without help and he came up short.

ok i will say this kb is a better 3 point shotter then mj, but not by much, kb avg .338, mj .327, now kb has never shot 47% from the field in his life, mj shoot over 50% 6 times, so to say kb is a better scorer then mj is wrong, if so he would shoot better, and stats never lie, and like i said kb is a better 3 pt shooter then mj. But not one other thing can kb do better

Kobe has more skills than MJ but MJ just came into a better situation in a better time with the Bulls. Kobe had to overcome Shaq and the rape scandal. MJ pushed off on Russel to hit that shot against the Jazz in the playoffs but if Kobe did that he would have been called for pushing off. People forget that image is a big part of the NBA because at the end of the day it's a business. Kobe will never get the credit her deserves.Even if he won 10 rings he would be discredited for personal reasons

1st of all dumb ass, rookie MJ went to a 27 win lottery team that hadn't seen the playoffs since '81 until he showed up! By 1989 he'd played with 43 DIFFERENT teammates, AT LEAST 3 different "starters" as teammates and had 3 DIFFERENT coaches.
Kobe went to a 57 win playoff team that featured 3 other All Stars (other than himself); 1 All Time Top 10 player in Shaq.

Well... I only say, if Jordan would play in the NBA today, with the rules of now and everything, and in his prime... oh boy, I think that a 100 Point game for him would be so easy against one of the weak teams. And he would be around 30 times per game at the Free Throw line. xD Sry really think that Kobe is one of the best of all time but Jordan was better. Much better. Not a better shooter than Kobe but thats it.

Both shoot 33% in career playoff 3pt%, but MJ shot BETTER than him in career finals 3pt% (37% > 28%). He also has JUST AS MANY seasons as kobe shooting 35% in 3pt% and MORE seasons than him shooting OVER that.
MJ has 4 seasons shooting over the league's 3pt% avg while kobe only has 2!
MJ shot 35% in 5 straight post seasons while kobe's NEVER done that..

those performances don't even come close to any of Jordan's in the finals. Jordan not only beat teams in the finals but he used as a showcase to prove a point- positive points to reinforce he's the best player in the world. Not points where he wouldn't shoot and shut it down just to sook and show everyone the team needs him to shoot.
1 first finals Jordan hit 23 consecutive shots, hit one of the greatest shots seen in any game, not just the finals, hit a game tying shot to send it into OT.

firstly, when people say that kobe is close to Jordan as a clutch player it makes me sick. i'm not talking about hitting game winners in the regular season, i'm talking about the FINALS!!!. Jordan was the man in 6 finals, not 3 or 2, but in 6. And jordan actually elevated his play in the finals to even greater heights and Kobe has never accomplished that. People can debate this till their blue in the face, and both sides can make legit cases and comparisons. They can pull up as many stats as they want and post as many vids as they want. Bottom line, MJ and Kobe are the best of their times. It just so happened that MJ's time was stiffer and more physical.

not to take anything away from the people i mentioned in Kobe's list, but can you really compare Nowitsky to Olojowon (the only man to ever dominate Shaq?) Or can you compare Dwane Wade to Gary Payton? Or Steve Francis to John Stockton or Reggie Miller? Ben Wallace to Dekembe Mutumbo? Tim Duncan to Patrick Ewing or dare i say David Robinson? Or better yet, Vince Carter to Clyde Drexler?
