  • YEAH!!!! tell 'em ,1961webby! feel the genius of BNL!!!! sad little moonturkey;what kind of a mother would name their child that!!

  • well done moonturkey(if that is indeed your real name) i saw BNL in London in 1992, and every gig in London since. just let the genius wash over you. you'll feel better mate

  • cool,,,i had to do goodboy cover,,best song of theres!!

  • just saw BNL last weekend, great show great banter and still a great band!

  • AGREED WITH GODUCKGO. This version is awsome of call and answer always been my favourite song. Oxford, England.

  • BNL IS DEAD.LONG LIVE STEVEN PAGE %100 PERCENT REASON WHY THAT BAND EXISTED

  • @GODUCKGO no he isn't...Listen to their new stuff, sounds great actually

  • Love Alanis from my early 20's But love BNLway more- would rather just hear thmmen in this song....

  • @492river I do, too. I just think they're great with or without him. Also, have you heard his solo album? It's unbelievably good.

  • Wow! Alanis and BNL! Awesome! I love them both, and love them both together.

  • Love this version of the song. I just performed it as the duet last saturday. Beautiful.

  • I beg to differ. I love BNL. But I just dojt find the same quality without SP. Likewise Im not a huge fan of his stuff alone. I think this is a case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Just my opinion.

  • I just can't get into their newest album without Steven Paige. I loved every track on every other one, except for the Christmas album, but the newest one is just so mediocre.

  • @inmylife: So well said. Paige is a great vocalist, but BNL is doing just fine without him.

  • @MarshallVoit it's like this : if you love somebody, let it go. if it doesn't return, hunt it down and kill it. I hope Steven will decide to go back to the band.

  • Who the fuck is arguing statistics? He was an important part of the band (sharing the stage with Ed as front man) and the band is quite different without him. Singles and shit don't matter.

  • I'm not gonna come out and be like "oh she is so f'n hot" and a bunch of crap. But, I think she has one of the hottest womanly bodies in entertainment. Such curves, those lips, that butt, and hips!! Damn! What a woman! Thanks Canada!

  • @69adrummer i totally agree. and i didn't even notice her curves until this video.

  • try 60 % songwriter and singer! steven page founder co song writer lead singer

ed will have 4 songs on a greatest hits album.steve=10 to 13 songs

ed,just put out a greatest hits EP

  • @inmylife10465 Your full of shit. Ed is responsible for their #1 hit "One Week", and he also sings the lead vocals on "Pinch Me", their 2nd biggest hit. Not to mention, their new album (first since Steve left) is their best charting album since "Maroon" in 2000. That should tell you something.

  • @ringoffirejc dude,what do you do?

you skip over all the steve songd.lol I think you forgot to take your medicine

  • @inmylife10465 Not saying I don't like Steve, but I can't stand when people say "Oh BNL are nothing without him!" and "Steve was the life on BNL!" so on and so forth. Ed has an even larger vocal range than Steve, yet people think Steve does. Listen to Ed's backups on "Upside Down" and "Powder Blue". He can get his voice much higher and lower than Steve can. I'm just sick of hearing Steve is better. He's good, but he wasn't BNL.

  • OMG, 2 of my all time faves together, in the altogether!!

  • geez...does anyone have a video for this?i could barely imagaine how good it is...alanis with BNL....this is my most favorite BNL song....

  • When the reach that "rebuild" line.. it makes me cry.. i don't know why.. this song really gets me.

  • *Page

  • I also miss Paige, however, I just saw BNL at the Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD this past Sunday night and they put on an amazing show. I thought Ed sounded great on Paige songs such as "It's All Been Done". And the guys are hilarious and have great energy. I have to say the only song where I really realized he wasn't there was on $1,000,000

  • I like this song, but I have written better ones....alone

  • great!

    miss you steve

  • Got 2 be a video of this somewhere....Just oozes "BRILLIANCE""

  • His last name is spelled Page not Paige. Jesus.

  • Crikey! I had no clue that this spectacular piece of music existed. My 2 favourite vocalists of all time on one track?! /shock /awe / glee

thanks uploader. 2 thumbs fresh m8

  • This is one of the soundtrack of "Stealing Harvard"

  • sigh.

intelligent and well-spoken artists, on and off the stage. this song is intuitive and healing...and I hope Paige will record again with the rest of BNL..and Alanis, too.

  • This version compared to the version they did right before Steven left BNL is like night & day. There's incredible passion in their voices & a drive to, no pun intended, rebuild. It's a shame that BNL has ended up the way they have. I remember seeing their live shows & having so much fun at them. The only way I'd go now is if someone paid for my ticket. :(

  • @quietpopcorn I saw them last night and it was so much fun. Of course, I never got to see them when they were all together, so maybe I can't offer a balanced opinion. But they sounded great to me.

  • @ quietpopcorn: Steven Page was an integral 20% of the band, but he was only 20% of it. Things are different now, but if you search for recent BNL videos you'll find that they're putting some really great music into the world. I've been a fan for about 15 years and I can't wait for their first four-piece tour. Just sayin', Steve was only part of the whole deal, and the rest is still intact.

  • @MarshallVoit But there are greats songs that will better played again because of him quitting...

  • @MarshallVoit

i would say he was 40% atleast. To me BNL were all about his voice. That's my opinion anyways.

  • @MarshallVoit Now you've probably heard it, what do you think of the album?

  • @moonturkey I have heard the album, and I have seen the band 5 times (2 with Steve and 3 without). They play better together as a group now than they ever have. And musically, the new album is the most interesting of any that they've put out. Kevin is singing more, Jim is singing more, Tyler is singing.

They're better than they've ever been.

  • @MarshallVoit

I still rate BNL and really enjoy their music, however Steve's song writing is still missed. Deos that mean they are now rubbish, far from it, but they could still do with it. Steve is one of those unique figures in music and anyone associated with him will brought up a level.

  • @MarshallVoit name one song not sung by page

  • @stubert311

All of their most recent album

Snacktime: 7-8-9, Pollywog in a Bog, Raisins, Eraser, Food Party, Canadian Snacktime Trilogy parts 1-3, My Big Sister, Allergies, I Don't Like, What a Wild Tune, Things, Word For That, Wishing, Here Come the Geese

Barenaked Ladies Are Men: Serendipity, One and Only, Down to Earth, Half a Heart, Fun and Games, Quality, Another Spin, What a Letdown

Barenaked Ladies Are Me: Adrift, Bank Job, Easy, Peterborough and the Kawarthas, Vanishing, Wind It Up

  • @stubert311

Barenaked for the Holidays: Green Christmas, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Footprints, Christmastime (Oh Yeah), Christmas Pics

Everything to Everyone: Another Postcard, For You, Testing 1-2-3, Take It Outside

Maroon: Pinch Me, Falling for the First Time

Stunt: Light Up My Room, Leave, Never Is Enough, Who Needs Sleep, Told You So

Born on a Pirate Ship: I Know, When I Fall, Spider In My Room, Same Thing, In The Drink

Maybe You Should Drive: These Apples, Am I The Only One

  • @stubert311

How was that? That's ever song they've put out on an album that Steve doesn't sing, from most recent album to least. You can see that he's been sharing responsibility for singing more and more over the years, so that fully half of the songs on their last album as a 5-piece are sung by other people.

Of course now, every song they sing is sung by somebody other than Steve.

  • @MarshallVoit we just miss steve being in the band.

  • @MarshallVoit Yeah... BUT, all of my fav songs were his... Ed singing them just isn't the same, and if Ed every tried break your heart or war on drugs I may have to beat him a bit... :P I like Ed, and like his songs. But do not try those 2...

  • @MarshallVoit i think you'll find 66.6% of statistics are wrong

  • does anyone have the video of this??

  • THIS is music. Really, this is ART!

  • Hope Paige will return to the band one day

  • Wow! Alanis + BNL = Awesomesauce :D

  • Wow, the quality of this audio is seriously good. I mean, GREAT!!

  • iopzhfgslhgsdolfghsfjdghsldfjhgdfjlhghdslrgf YES PLEASE

  • i would pay money for a soundboard quality of this recording

  • To have 3 extremely talented vocalists singing on one stage is so rare. The back and forth between Stephen and Atlantis is mind boggling. God would I have loved to be at this live.. Wow!!!!

  • speechless

    goosebumps

  • I dont suppose there's an album of them together anywhere?

  • wishin for a back to back tour

  • Alanis and Barenaked Ladies are two of my FAVORITE artists/bands and I'm SO upset I didn't get to see them in concert together. =[[

  • Brilliant.

  • I think this was at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. I'm pretty sure.

  • Really? I'd think this would have been done in Toronto or maybe Montreal. Considering they are both Canadian, it would just make sense to me. But then, they are artists and it was a show, so... LA it is?

  • so is this song out of the song list now that page is gone? sucks that page is out

  • Which performance date was this?

  • i love Alanis' voice...

it somehow goes well only with her songs!!!

  • weird, but kinda true...huh

  • I think they expected Steve to take the lead vocal with Alanis as back-up, but it does mix it up with her taking the lead and Steve backing her. It's different in a good way.

It does seem like she is a bit shaky with this "impromptu" (albeit planned) performance, but I do agree that she could work it out in a studio cover of this with Steve.

  • They both have wonderfully unique voices.

I think that this is a beautiful version of a beautiful song. I'd love to see Steve do a studio version of this with Alanis and put it on his new album as a single.

  • Me gusta mucho esta version.... se complementan muy bien... =)

  • loves it!!!

  • its not that her voice isnt strong enough, if anything her voice is stronger than his. its that her voice isnt as deep as his.

  • Alanis is good, but this comes no where near the original. She is too whiney for such a powerful song

  • I love this version!^^

  • Effing beautiful. I love this song.

  • Her voice isn't strong enough for this song.... but Steve can harmonize like it's nothing.

  • beautiful.

  • Alanis was good from where she came in. But imo her voice isn't strong enough for the ending of the song :/

    Very good though ...

  • totally agree, Steve should have rocked it with her doing under/over tones

  • So much more awesome than the studio version.

  • What is up with those yellow pants?

  • I think they're genuinely awesome. XD

  • yay!! 8D

  • sooo peaceful!!! =)

I want them to come touring near me so badly! I LOVE BNL!

Steve good luck going solo and I wish you well ;3

  • I loved this tour. I can't believe it was almost 5 years ago. Seems like yesterday.

  • amazing! ^^

  • SERIOUSLY??? This is AWESOME!!!

  • Thanks for posting this. Never heard it before.

  • i loved this concert! which city is this from? i went to their last stop, cincinnati.

  • I was at the Cincinnati concert too! this was the highlight of my night after the guys came out and sang with Alanis on You Learn
